I have used a WordPress Settings API PHP Class framework, that found here http://tareq.wedevs.com/2012/06/wordpress-settings-api-php-class/, to create my first plugin setting page.
Everything is working fine except default option values are not saving in database until I hit "Save" going to setting page. But I would like this to be saved automatically when someone activate the plugin.
I tried using register_activation_hook() but failed. I am not sure how to use that framework with register_activation_hook(). You can check the codes going to the link I mentioned above. I am about to finish my first plugin but stuck on this.

Hi I'm trying to make an offline version of this page:
https://u-he.com/tools/microtuning/ the script is writtin with Angular JS how do I do that?
I saved the page control-s and copied the file to the local server I'm running.
And then I browsed the local ip. the page opened but I get repeated notes ng-repeat shows up as multiple boxes instead of 1 box that edits the same note but in different octaves.
How do I solve this problem please.
You can inspect the front-end code in your browser console. In Firefox it's in the section called "Debugger", in Chrome it's called "Sources". If you use Safari, you need to enable Developer mode first.
Once you have the appropriate view, just click on u-he.com -> tools/microtuning/ -> index
Hopefully it goes without saying that you shouldn't use large swaths of another person's code without at least giving appropriate credit, or better yet getting the developer's permission, unless there is an explicit open-source license.
I am developing a simple application using ADF comes with basic CRUD operations (create, read, update, delete). In this case, as you can see, I have dragged a link to the 1st column which is highlighted in yellow.
So whenever I deploy it and click that, it is supposed to redirect me to the Edit page where client will allow to make commit:
I did make sure the Action of link is associated with the Edit page (as highlighted in yellow above). However, the link wouldn't redirect me anywhere, no response. This is the unbounded task flow:
Okay so I have found out the solution. Due to the default setting, the application will be deployed on IE and this message will prompt out. As you can see, the message is mentioning about browser's compatibility. My IE is version 11.6, I'm not sure what's the issue here since my IE is kinda latest version but this message still pops out and affects the redirect link from working. However, simply copy the application URL to Google Chrome and run should fix this issue. Hope this helps in future.
If the two pages in the Unbounded Task Flow, then Add WildCard Control Flow Rule
and connect the two pages with the WildCard.
Or you can use the Popup instead of opening a new page for edit
I am working on adding a small one-page AngularJS application to my friend's Wordpress site. The application will take some user input and generate on-screen output using that input. It will also log the user input for analysis purposes.
I will need to be able to host the files for that page on my friend's site as well as create a back-end script that can capture the user input and store it to a MySQL database.
I have worked with WordPress sites before but have never customized them or written a plugin. How would you go about making this happen?
I will select the answer that leads me down the most efficient / effective path. Thanks!
After poking around for a while, I ran across the Advanced Custom Fields plugin. Using this helped me add custom JavaScript to the specific page that needed Angular support.
Here is information on how to use ACF to add JavaScript support:

Here is the plugin itself:

What is the best way to reference another app in the visual query designer?
I am using the blog app and I created a second app to list the tags that are used in the main blog app. This way when the app goes to a detail page of a post, I can still have the tags listed on the website without the view changing automatically. I set up my blog tags app with a visual query that list all of the tags used in the main app. Everything was working fine in development.
The problem that I have run into is that when I move the app to a production site the AppId was different than the one I was currently using and development. Now, the tags app is showing an error and I am not able to get into the settings to change the app ID of the visual query to the proper one in order to get the information needed. Is there a better way that I should be handling this?
This sounds like the right way to do it - your main issues is getting into the admin-ui when the template you have shows an error.
I suggest that you quickly rename your current template (so it's not used till you fix the bug) and create an empty template with the original name. This way you can go to the normal settings.
Another option is to switch into dnn-edit-mode, and use the black-dnn buttons to get to app-admin.
I am very new to cakephp and I see a folder plugin in my application
when I go to the site I see the address as
mysite.com/user/mergerdata
mergerdata is a plugin
When I click on add I see this
mysite.com/account/mergerdata/add
so when I go to app/plugins/mergerdata/controllers/merger_controller
I dont see an add action, But I do see the user_add action there
Am I looking at the wrong place. Where is User comning from. Where is Add coming from ???
"user" is a prefix, similar to an admin prefix. You can read more about it on http://book.cakephp.org/view/950/Prefix-Routing
Basically, this feature allows you to have different methods for different levels of users, and the prefix ("user") is added to the front of the method name ("add").
