I saw an animation directive that said animations are done best with javascript. Is this the case?
I am using Angular 1.3 and want a plug and play solution for animation. Can you explain the difference in the JS vs CSS question and direct me to a source to get it implemented FAST?
Backstory
I have an APP I want to launch tomorrow. I wrote it in Angular quickly but am having trouble with animations.
If you wanna animate angular directives ng-show/hide, ng-repeat, etc then css animations are the way to go. All you do is add some classes to you css file with animations and off you go as long as you have included the NgAnimate as a dependency.
If you wanna implement your own directive animations then JS is the way using $animate service.
Check out year of moo, Matias does a great job of showing them.

I have been looking for some good ways to build up a angular website with help of basic html templates but it doesn't work with carousel and some other elements.
Can any suggestion for slider in angular?
Angular doesn't necessarily play nicely with jQuery plugins.
(I'm assuming you are using a jQuery carousel, you didn't say though).
That doesn't mean you can't use Jquery plugins, it just means you can't use them in a very Angular way.
Best to use Angular modules instead wherever possible.
See carousel at ...

This is a reliable library
Hope this helps

I'm looking for a plugin for a modal directive in Angular but there is a requirement not to use the Bootstrap CSS. Angular-UI looks nice but obviously depends on Bootstrap. Any pointers?
In case of Angular-UI you can define your own templates and in case of CSS you can for sure use your own files.
Here are standard templates for modal. The only dependencies on Bootstrap I found are: modal and modal-backdrop so just rename them for your needs or add them to your CSS to get custom styling.
Btw: Angular-UI is modular so you can just use these directives which you really need.
I don't know existing plugin to achieve this without Bootstrap (I use Angular-UI), but you can easily create your own directive using jQuery UI modal.
There are lots of tuto on the internet to create directive for jQuery UI.
I have found a JSFiddle in this Google Group (you have to follow the link in the answer of January 4). User has made a simple directive based on jQuery.
I think it will put you on the right way.
Highcharts documentation says that it has some dependencies that can be met with jquery, prototype or mootools. Is there a way to use highcharts/highstock with angularjs without bringing in any of these other libraries?
Angular includes it's own "jqLite" which is a subset of jQuery functions that were necessary (or at least made it much easier) for Angular itself to work. Including jQuery itself will override the jQLite built in to Angular (but they should work fine together and have for me, I'm only using jQuery for ng-grid currently).
Does Angular use the jQuery library?
Yes, Angular can use jQuery if
it's present in your app when the application is being bootstrapped.
If jQuery is not present in your script path, Angular falls back to
its own implementation of the subset of jQuery that we call jQLite.

I've also been looking at charting solutions that will blend well with Angular and have started playing with d3js
http://d3js.org/
Basics of D3js

AngularJS D3JS Directive Writing
http://briantford.com/blog/angular-d3.html
D3 essentially gives you a toolkit of functions that help to scale values to build a chart from scratch and has built in interpolation for transitions between data sets. There seem to be lots of cool examples but to build from svg or html elements into your desired chart from scratch is probably extensive work.
For something a little more pre-built and I believe without external dependencies either is Google Charts

AngularJS Google Charts Directive

Yes, there is.
Highcharts relased a Standalone version
Check it out, I think it's a more direct answer to your question than what was posted here.
Also, there's an Angular Directive for Highcharts:

I am quite new in Angular world. I am working on an application which involves Angular JS. I've been confronted with the requirement to implement custom scrollbar. My application does have jQuery too, but so far most part of my project uses Angular. So should I be using some jQuery widget or implement it via Angular.
If Angular, can you provide me pointers on how should I proceed?
You should probably implement it in the Angular way, i.e., building / using a custom Angular's directive:
http://docs.angularjs.org/guide/directive
Learning resources for Angular:
https://github.com/jmcunningham/AngularJS-Learning
You can always use jQuery plugins / widgets in an Angular app, but in that case the best way is to encapsulate each plugin within a directive. Angular-UI is a project which does that for several components, including Twitter Bootstrap:
http://angular-ui.github.io/
I'm aware of angular-perfect-scrollbar, a simple Angular's directive for perfect-scrollbar, but haven't tested it yet:
https://github.com/itsdrewmiller/angular-perfect-scrollbar

Depending on what your requirements are, you can style your scrollbars strictly in CSS and not need any JavaScript:

The "delete row" and "delete column" buttons are dynamically created. Right now when I click on them nothing happens. How can I get them to run the corresponding handlers? Is there a better way to do what I am trying to do (make a resizable and editable grid)?
Main Issue
The problem is that your creating the html for the button without compiling it through angularjs. You could just send this through the $compile service to get it to work but that's not the angular way. The better option would be to create a directive for tbody and put code there either as a template or in the compile phase of the directive. There's a great video by Misko Henvrey (lead engineer from angular) about creating directives at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqmeI5fZcho. Also you might want to check out the ng-grid created by the angular-ui team at https://github.com/angular-ui/ng-grid to get an idea of how to put together a semantic grid component.
Side Issue
When trying to think in angular you really need to start thinking of the functionality you need and architecting a solution for the functionality (e.g. the directive (s)). What you've done in this question instead is thinking the traditional javascript way (nothing wrong with that in general), which is to say ok I'm limited by what html gives me and I need to tie my javascript in to the stuff I'm given through hooks on classes and ID's. I highly recommend taking a look at "Thinking in AngularJS" if I have a jQuery background? to get a more complete view of angular vs jquery/traditional javascript.
