In my form I have 3 buttons and 1 lookupedit. Lookupedit is disabled initially If i click on button1 it enables and then I select 3rd item(Computer) from lookupedit it displays and i select button2 now lookupedit is disabled. If again i click button1 then that time previously selected 3rd Item(Computer) is display again. How to clear that before selecting ?
Thanks in Advance,
Sri
All that you need to clear the selected value in the LookUpEdit editor is to set the EditValue property to null. This is valid for any DevExpress editor, because all of them has a common structure

In windows form, I have 5-7 combobox on one 3 tab pages of tab control.
This tab control reside in a group box.
There are other two groupboxes containg other text box and listview controls.
Problem is, When defualt load the form control then focus set on combobox and unable to unselect.
Tried by changing property- causevalidation to false but no output.
Please guide.
Add a line on Page Load to set focus on the control you want to focus.
For Ex:
txtName.Focus();
EDIT
Use this
ActiveControl = yourcontrolNameToWhichYouWantToSetFocus;
You can set the TabIndex of the controls, the lowest index will be the first focused. (TabStop should be true)
I you want to set focus to another combobox you should call Select() method.
Hi in vaadin combobox i have only one item added which is in select by default.
So now there is no need in drop down option.
Is there any way to disable dropdown option in combobox?
Regards,
Vignesh
You can try setting the combobox to read-only or disabled if it only has one option. combobox.setReadOnly(true) will make it look like a label while combobox.setEnabled(false) will grey it out and disable the dropdown.
Well, what do you want to show instead? Just a Label? Then check if the container-size you add to the combobox is 1 and show a Label with the only "option" instead.
Is it possible to turn off the selected row highlighting when a user clicks another control in the window?
Thanks in advance.
You could set the SelectedIndex to -1 in the LostFocus event, thus losing the selected item and removing the highlight.
is it possible to change a combo box to text box using vba?
As an addition to the suggestion about hiding the text box I have seen people use a text box to cover all but the dropdown arrow of the combo box (text box set to be on top of course) and then updated the text box on the after update event of the combo box
I forget why they did it that way in the end but it worked and IMHO is better than hiding the combo box as you might have issues with it still having focus
As far as I know there are two methods. If the form is in design mode then running;
Application.RunCommand acCmdChangeToTextBox
while the combobox is in focus will make it turn into a textbox.
However you cannot do this at runtime. Say you want to show a textbox after selecting a value from the combobox, on the Change event of the combobox you just hide it and show a textbox that was previously hidden. Use the visible property of the combobox and the textbox for this.
I have a combo box on a form and when I rollover the combo box with my mouse, the OnMouseOver event causes a graident view to appear. How would I go about ensuring that it doesn't do that. What I want is for the combo box to remain white.
What you need to do is create a new Template for your ComboBox. This is easiest to do in Blend; right click on the control and choose to edit a copy of the template.
You will want to remove the animations from the MouseOver VisualState.
