Will the product keys received through the BizSpark program still work after the MSDN subscription expires?
I'm currently using Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2013 which I got through BizSpark. I was wondering what happens when the subscription ends. Will all my installed products expire or can I still use the claimed keys after the subscription ends?

A quick answer before this gets closed...my recent experience with MSDN is that
keys that do not require activation continue to work indefinitely
products that have been activated continue to work indefinitely
keys that require activation are historically quite variable in behaviour, but now mostly will no longer activate after your subscription has expired.
you cannot claim new keys once your subscription expires.
MSDN is an amazing resource and very reasonably priced. Best thing is to regard it as a lifetime subscription. Having said that, we usually make sure we claim a few extra keys before we roll over each subscription. Some work, some don't.
Microsoft has been unhelpful in providing information about this, which I find quite understandable.

I have hosted my Prestashop at Fastdomain server it's like the 4th year, the website is stable and working fine till 3 days ago where my email inbox got full of spam and more than 300K requests on the site causing the site to go down.
I activated the basic protection from Sitelock provided from Fastdomain Cpanel, it worked fine for two days and the site is down again cuz of another strike.
Fastdomain support tried to fix it but no instant method they said the problem is caused due to script overuse in send to friend module, even though this module is an original PrestaShop module, and they said the website will "recover" in few hours.
any comment or thoughts? how t respond to such attack!?
my website is elektrojo.com and am using the up to date version
This appears to be a common problem. Not only is it taking your site down, it may be being used to spam others, which has the risk of getting your domain blacklisted.
In that thread was linked an updated version of the module supporting a CAPTCHA, along with a similar modification for product reviews. It seems to be for PrestaShop 1.5 and 1.6.
If you have some kind of a "backend" which you can update modules on, you should also do that.
Another suggestion is to use fail2ban to detect repeated attempts to access this feature and block it. You may not have the necessary access to do that, but if not, your hosts should be able to.
Failing that, you should remove the sendtoafriend code (ensure the files are actually gone from their original location) until you have found a way to harden it, since it's being abused to take your site down.

Bug in Developers Console when accepting invitation to add Cloud Platform project [closed]

Well, it would seem that Google only provide support for Cloud Platform through here, which seems a bit odd, as I've tried to report a bug via their ticketing system only to have it closed with a forward to the Google Product forums, which then got me sent to the slightly-useless Support tab within Cloud Platform itself as there's no forum for Cloud Platform (srsly?), which states "Google engineers monitor and answer questions via Stack Overflow." You'd think they'd have a bloody bug tracker…
Anyway, this is what I submitted via the ticketing system. I'm expecting this to get closed pretty quickly as off-topic, but maybe one of you lot knows where their bloody bug tracking stuff actually is. I can't for a minute believe that they don't have one! >.<

Original bug report:
I have discovered a bug in the Google Developers Console (https://console.developers.google.com) regarding the Cloud Platform. When accepting an invitation from another developer to add a project to your console with a Google Apps for Business account which does not yet have any projects created against it (IE, it is a new account), the invitation request process throws the error "You have no more apps available to accept this invitation".
If the user then creates an app against their account directly, then initiates the invitation process, the invitation is accepted as expected, and the project is added to the account as normal. The directly-created project can now be removed, and future invitations work as normal. If all projects are then removed from the apps account, the error "You have no more apps available to accept this invitation." returns again until such time a directly-created project is added.

As I said, I'm expecting this to get closed pretty quickly, so if anyone knows where Google's Developers Console bugs should actually be submitted, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know before closing it, as I would expect this post to come up in searches for this bug, and a pointer in the right direction on where to go for support would be of help to me and anyone who comes across this post.
Cheers.

I was recently going through all the options made available by Microsoft for the SERVERPROPERTY() in SQL Server.
When i write
SELECT 'License Type ', SERVERPROPERTY('LicenseType')
I get output as
License Type DISABLED
I went through the knowledge base and it states the follows -
" Unused. License information is not preserved or maintained by the SQL Server product. Always returns DISABLED. "
It would really be great if someone could suggest me a use of this Enum/Property as i find Microsoft Technologies too intelligent to keep things like these in the final released product if they are truly useless...
Any Ideas please...
This property used to contain information before 2008R2:
Mode of this instance of SQL Server.
PER_SEAT = Per Seat mode
PER_PROCESSOR = Per-processor mode
DISABLED = Licensing is disabled.
Licensing changed and it's now unused. The reason it is still there is probably that removing it might risk breaking something for someone (my guess).

How to create an appropriate license agreement for your own Software? (Mac AppStore) [closed]

Background:
This question caused me some sleepless nights over the last month. I'm an independent software developer and have recently finished the work on my first application. I've read a lot of articles about license agreements but I still don't know how to tackle this task in an appropriate way. My application handles user files. In every method I check for consistency & errors and I've betatested it on several systems for more than 6 months. I'm very sure nothing should go wrong, but I want to be on the save side.
Are license agreements by themselves protected by a copyright or can
I just take one and replace the companies name? (All of them look pretty similar to my untrained eyes)
If I'm allowed to use one, am I allowed to edit it?
I don't want my users to be "kept in a cage". I want them to be as free as they could be. For example I want them to be able to freely install my software on all their personal devices.
Where can I find non-Opensource licenses*? I've been searching for a
long time now. I found this Page but it actually confused me more than it helped.
I plan on publishing my app on the Mac-AppStore. Are there licenses
I can't use there?
(As I mentioned above I want a "User License" model that allows the user to install it on all of his Macs)
If you've got any kind of experience with this topic, feel free to share your insights. It's well appreciated!
*Edit: By "non-Opensource licenses" I mean licenses for commercial applications.
1.
You are free to take an existing agreement you find and adapt it to your ends. There is no originality of expression in a licensing agreement itself that would be covered under copyright law preventing your use of its language -- assuming the language fits your circumstances. You should always understand what you're agreeing to. :-)
P.S. Authority: I've worked with large law firms for 20 years as a software developer, licensing my software to them and also consulting with some of them when they had to write contracts for their own clients and didn't undertand the technical issues.

Microsoft Small Business Licensing Kick Start [closed]

I seem to recall hearing at some point (I believe it was MIX09) that Microsoft has a licensing model of some sort where a business can consume licenses for up to two years, free of charge, until they reach a point where they are stable position and can pay their licensing at the end of two years. However, I can't find information regarding it online.
I want to say that possibly stackoverflow used this licensing model to kick start their site. Is anyone familiar with this?
In addition to BizSpark (as per #paul) there are also WebSpark and, as of May 2010, the developer MAPS programmes.
Webspark information is here: http://www.microsoft.com/web/websitespark/default.aspx
Details of the Action Pack (MAPS) are currently here: https://partner.microsoft.com/global/40132997
I'm fairly certain that in all cases availablility varies by your location - but if you're producing stuff for/with/on Microsoft tools/platforms then they're all worth a look.
You're thinking of BizSpark:

There is also the Empower program if you're an existing business, not a startup.
