I'm testing the usage of fprintf() and it is not working. When I first wrote the code I forgot to add \n inside fprintf() and it worked. However, when I added \n at the start of "test 1 2" it stopped working.

For files open for appending (those which include a "+" sign), on
which both input and output operations are allowed, the stream should
be flushed (fflush) or repositioned (fseek, fsetpos, rewind) between
either a writing operation followed by a reading operation or a
reading operation which did not reach the end-of-file followed by a
writing operation.

So add this:
fflush(f);
before your fprintf if you want to append to the file without deleting its previous contents, or this:
rewind(f);
if you want to overwrite the content, as pointed by your comment.

In my opinion there is something bad in scanf lines, but I don't see what exactly is bad. The first two scans of "\n" are intented to jump two first lines in file. I know that the second option is to perform loop starting from third line (for(tab_line=3; etc.) The %d scans integer value in first column and %f scans float value in second column in both files. Unfortunately, while running in Dev C++ the process exits with return value 3221225725. I found on stackoverflow.com that this value means heap corruption. How to overcome this problem?
I think you should read the fscanf documentation again:
Anyway, fscanf accepts as a second argument a format, so something like "%d" (the one you have used some lines later). When you invoke

"\n" is not an identifier. You should replace this line with something like

fscanf while-loop never runs

I'm working on a project, and I can't seem to figure out why a piece of my function for finding prime numbers won't run. Essentially, I want to code to first check the text file log for any previously encountered prime numbers, but no matter what I put for the while-loop containing fscanf(), it seems like my code never enters it.

I have tried all sorts of changes to the while-loop test.
Ex. != 0, != EOF, cutting off the == 1 entirely.
I just can't seem to get my code to enter the loop using fscanf.

In a comment, I asked where the "a+" mode leaves the current position?
On Mac OS X 10.11.4, using "a+" mode opens the file and positions the read/write position at the end of file.

Without the fseek(), the return value from n is -1 (EOF) immediately.
With the fseek(), the data (source code) can be read.
One thing slightly puzzles me: I can't find information in the POSIX fopen() specification (or in the C standard) which mentions the read/write position after opening a file with "a+" mode. It's clear that write operations will always be at the end, regardless of intervening uses of fseek().
POSIX stipulates that the call to open() shall use O_RDWR|O_CREAT|O_APPEND for "a+", and open() specifies:
The file offset used to mark the current position within the file shall be set to the beginning of the file.
However, as chux notes (thanks!), the C standard explicitly says:
Annex J Portability issues
J.3 Implementation-defined behaviour
J.3.12 Library functions
…
Whether the file position indicator of an append-mode stream is initially positioned at
the beginning or end of the file (7.21.3).
…
So the behaviour seen is permissible in the C standard.
The manual page on Mac OS X for fopen() says:
"a+" — Open for reading and writing. The file is created if it does not exist. The stream is positioned at the end of the file. Subsequent writes to the file will always end up at the then current end of file, irrespective of any intervening fseek(3) or similar.
This is allowed by Standard C; it isn't clear it is fully POSIX-compliant.

Making Input and Output files in C language according to the code?

This is a first formal C competition I am going through .In the last years paper they had- Specified something called aromatic number and told to find those .I wrote the code and it works well but I am not able to understand these instructions about input and output and how to code them in C for Windows.
I am aware about reading one letter from a file and writing it using fopen() and fprintf and fscanf. But these are letters written in different lines how to extract them as variables from in1.dat and print them in out1.dat?

Which scans the first value in the 1st line .But they ask for multiple lines(3 in sample input) how to do them?

How to read text file in C?

I'm trying to read a txt file containing strings of 1s and 0s and print it out in the manner below. I tried my code a couple of months ago and it worked fine in reading the text file. Now when I tried it, it outputs something really strange. Also I tried changing the directory of the file to a non-existant file but it still outputs the same thing when it should've quit the program immediately. Please help!

The input argument is the following:-
"C:\Users\Beanz\Documents\MATLAB\football frame\frame1.txt"
Read each line one by one with getline(3) -if available- or with fgets (you'll then need a large enough line buffer, at least 256 bytes), then parse each line buffer appropriately, using sscanf (the %n might be useful, and you should test the scanned item count result of sscanf) or other functions (e.g. strtok, strtol, etc...)
Remember that 'feof()' is only set AFTER trying to read PAST the end of the file, not when at the end of the file.
So the final iteration through the loop will try to read/process data that contains trash or prior contents.
Always check the returned value from 'fscanf()' before trying to use the associated data.

eliminate the call to feof() and use the fscanf() to control the loop

also i dont use file extensions and files exist in the same directory wtih executable.
fgets() stores the new-line character into the buffer it is populating so you need to remove it before calling fopen() within the while.
From the linked reference page for fgets():
Reads at most count - 1 characters from the given file stream and stores them in str. The produced character string is always NULL-terminated. Parsing stops if end-of-file occurs or a newline character is found, in which case str will contain that newline character.
Example code to remove the new-line:

fgets leaves the newline on the end of the string, which you can plainly see if you add the following line afterwards:
printf ("[%s]\n", temp);
You'll see something like:
[file1
]
You need to remove it before use, which you can do this with something like:

temp[sz-1] = '\0';

It basically uses your exact method to get a line using fgets (but from standard input) and then outputs the result both before and after removal of the trailing newline. A sample run follows:

You may also want to look at a few other things in that code segment:
the use of an open brace { at the end of the while loop.
the fact that you're opening the files within the loop and not doing anything with them (including closing them).
the use of "rb" open mode. Usually this is unnecessary, it's certainly unnecessary if you know it's a text file.
you should always check the return codes of functions that can fail (like fopen) before using them.
the canonical form of main in C where no arguments are needed is int main (void).
I'll state my case of which I am still uncertain: I thought my problem was with "fopen", but after trying every single solution, I ran into the extension problem, which I'm facing in Windows 10. It appears that Windows puts ".txt" automatically but, if you put ".txt" as extension, the name becomes ".txt.txt" at the end. So I left the file name with no extension, and put "file.txt" as argument of "fopen", and that was the only way it has worked for me.
