I'm trying to generate code coverage files for a small C program compiled with clang on Debian Linux. Here's what I've done:

This is exactly as expected, I can compile and run things. Now trying to enable coverage.

the linker uses tons of gcc libraries to link with (though this may be a result of llvm not having it's own binunitls);
profiling library is being searched for at /usr/bin/../lib/libprofile_rt.a instead of the path I provided.
If we pass the arguments to the linker the output is the same:

What do I do wrong?
Try changing the order of your link line from
clang --coverage -lprofile_rt -L/usr/lib/llvm-3.0/lib *.c
to
clang --coverage -L/usr/lib/llvm-3.0/lib *.c -lprofile_rt
Ok, doesn't seem like the linker is getting your -L for some reason. Maybe try
clang --coverage -Wl,L/usr/lib/llvm-3.0/lib *.c -lprofile_rt
The only way I've been able to resolve this issue is by creating a symbolic link to where LLVM/clang is looking for the library. I'm thinking this is a way for package maintainers to manage which feature-library is used by the host system.
ln -s /usr/lib/llvm-3.0/lib/libprofile_rt.a /usr/lib/libprofile_rt.a
Coverage, and other optional -f<***> profile features work as expected. I can verify this by adding the verbose -v switch.

Your linker is trying to link against libc++. However clang cant find this library in your arm tool-chain ( probably your arm tool-chain is providing libstdc++). So the only libc++ found by the linker is /home/user/Tejas/clang+llvm-10.0.0-x86_64-linux-gnu-ubuntu-18.04/lib/libc++.so.1 which is probably an x86 library ( you can confirm that with objdump or readelf).
Try to replace --stdlib=libc++ by --stdlib=libstdc++ in your command line.
I checked multiple questions like this, but none of the answers worked in my case.

I tried to run it with:
clang -L /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/8
But, it is still not working.
I installed newer llvm (6.0) and it worked fine. But, I need this 3.4 version to run a project.
Synopsis
I have a small c program, it's a standard "hello world" application to test I can access the mysql connection driver accordingly:

It's worth noting I am using c not c++ and I am not using XCode just Vim and gcc as can be seen above.
Alternative attempt
I then decided perhaps i've done something wrong with compiling the source from MySQL This particular link and so I deleted the lib directory within my application and installed them via homebrew:
I tried brew install mysql-connector-c I also received the same errors as above despite changing the -I -L -l accordingly the new paths /usr/local/Cellar/... and exactly the same problems were occurring.
Conclusion
I could not find any .c files in any of the compiled mysql libraries, I did find a libmysql inside the source i compiled and attempted to link that which also failed. I personally feel it's a linking problem I just don't know what or how, if anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it.

It is wrong, because you just pass library search path to gcc, but also need pass which library you should link, for example, -lmysqlclient.

wrong name of link library, and mysql-connector-c-6.1.11-macos10.12-x86_64 just contains source code? If yes, you need compile mysql-connector-c first.

I am not an experienced programmer/developer/software engineer, but I need to get this older version of guile-2.0.11 built "by hand" rather than using home-brew (which installs the latest version of guile). I downloaded the tarball for guile-2.0.11 from the GitHub repository, extracted it and ran the shell script autogen.sh. This produced a configure executable which ran to completion and generated a Makefile. When I run make, the build continues until I get the this error:
Undefined symbols for architecture x86_64:
"_clock_getcpuclockid", referenced from:

and 16 more "ffi" similar messages. Then the error messages finishes

The linker apparently can't find these symbols. The explicit link command is quite extensive..it shows all the options, include and library paths if I use "make V=1". Here is the beginning, showing the options and paths:

The up-to-date version of ffilib is in the symlink /usr/local/opt/libffi/lib which is in the ld path, so I would think that the linker could find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This problem is really two problems: (1) the undefined symbol "_clock_getcpuclockid" and (2) all the "ffi" undefined symbols. The answer to the second problem is here and the answer to the first problem is here. There may be other solutions but these resulted in the installation of guile-2.0.11 on my macOS Sierra (10.12.5),
I am attempting to compile C code that utilizes the following within GNU readline.

I have been unable to resolve this error up to this point. What am I missing in either my code or while invoking gcc?
While compiling under UNIX I found the following is necessary to properly reference the GNU readline library:
gcc code.c -L/usr/local/lib -I/usr/local/include -lreadline
This ensures that the compiler finds the readline directories and files during compilation and linking.
It sounds like you don't have the libreadline development libraries installed. On Debian (including the FreeBSD port) the library is located in /lib and the development libraries (that you would link to) are in /usr/lib.
Additionally you have semi-colons after your includes, which you shouldn't have.
