My OsiriX application will suddenly no longer launch. I then upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks and installed the latest version, 5.8. It will still not launch.
The failure is accompanied by a message: "OsiriX is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."
Of course, this happens after I download the app. again.
Here is the Console message I found that appears to be relevant:

I'm not a programmer. I'd appreciate thoughts about what to do.
Thanks.

I just had this same issue. I was running 10.8 Mountain Lion. Tried upgrading to 10.9 Mavericks, but still no lock. Turns out it's Gatekeeper that is blocking the app. Here's how to fix it.
Go into System Preferences->Security&Privacy
Under the General tab, change Allow Downloaded Apps From to Anywhere
Launch Osirix
You will get a dialog about it being downloaded from the internet. Select Open.
Once Osirix has opened, quit the app.
Go back into System Preferences->Security&Privacy, and set Allow Downloaded Apps From to whatever it was set at previously (probably Mac App Store and identified developers).
That's it. Once you've gotten Osirix to open once, Gatekeeper won't bother you about it anymore.
Hope that helps. It fixed my issue, and it sounds like you have exactly the same situation.

I upgraded from 10.3 (Rio) to 10.4 (Sydney) (with side-by-side installs), now having IDE docking exception, e.g.
Loading the desktop from "C:\Users\gary.walker\AppData\Roaming\Embarcadero\BDS\21.0\Default Layout.dst" for doc host windows "DockSite3" failed with message:
"EAccessViolation: Access violation at address 50165CBF in module 'rtl270.bpl'. Read of address 33DEEBFF"
Deleting all .dst files has resolved the issue in at least one case (a coworker).
Also, when attempting to debug a program, I was having a hard failure during debug startup that prevented debugger use, before application began execution. I resolved this problem by copying my Default desktop to my debug desktop.
Another friend had pretty much the same issue and was able to fix it, unfortunately he does not know how he fixed it.
Question is does anyone know how to fix this?
I am still waiting for an answer from Embarcadero and this is causing us real problems at the moment.
I received an answer from Embarcadero support.
It fixed the problem for me until I adjusted my desktops to the way I wanted them and them - still better than nothing. I suspect there is no solid work-around at this point in time. But, this may work well as long as you are not frequently changing your desktop layouts.
There were display layout changes introduced in 10.4.1 that cause the errors that you are seeing.
Shut the IDE down
In Windows Explorer navigate to: %AppData%\Embarcadero\BDS\21.0
Delete the *.dst files at that location (you can back them up first if desired)
In Windows Explorer navigate to the product's \bin directory. The default location is: 4. C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\Studio\21.0\bin
Copy the three default *.dst files from this location to the location in step 2
Start the IDE as normal
Some time ago I accidentally gives 777 permissions to all folders, and when I reboot my system I can't login.I don't remember what exactly I do , but I can start ubuntu via wayland session. System working fine except google hangouts(unavailable screen sharing), so I find some advice where need to switch to the Xorg session and then screen sharing would be available.
I tryed uncomented this line #WaylandEnable=false in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf, but then after rebooting system can't run, so through recovery mode I commented again this string, and then ubuntu started on wayland session. (Also when system is booting login menu not appeared and I can't switch between sessions.)
So I supposed Xorg session is broken and I need yours suggestions how I can resolve this problem.
I have encountered a problem with uVision and Hitex emulator (Tanto2) on a Win10 laptop (fresh install).
My initial setup was UV5.23, I updated to 5.24 and made tentative with 5.25 on Keil's request.
I have a dedicated SDK release for UV5.23, I switched to a new one for UV5.24.
Firmware emulator was reflashed when I was using SDK for UV5.23, and updated when moving to UV5.24
What I can do:
- start UV5, open my project,
- start a debug session on the emulator, load my project, make the first run and stop debug session.
Whatever the release I use, the problem appears when I want to start a second debug session on the emulator. Once I click on the Start Debug, UV5 crashes with this message:
"uVision IDE has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will ..."
I need to relaunch UV5 to run a new debug session.
The setup using Keil 5.23 and its dedicated SDK release was OK till the end of March.
Since the end of March, the Windows updates that have appeared are: KB4088776, KB4093110, KB4093112, KB890830, KB4099989.
I tried uninstalling KB4099989, but there was no change, the problem is still present.
Is there a link with these updates?
If someone encounters the same problem and was able to solve it, I hear you :-)
The same problem appears on the laptop of my colleague whereas it is working fine before the last Windows update.
Thank you in advance for your help.
This is because of the below issue. If there is a crash in application during dll unload, windows adds an entry in registry to ignore a future unload dll request. So if the application tries to load the dll again within the same session, then the application crashes.
As a workaround goto the below location in registry,
My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers
and delete the unload registry path. Everytime if there is a new crash then the dll will be added back which needs to be removed.
[work around]
I also get crashes when entering debugger session, however I noticed that it occurs only if I click the debugger icon and then leave the pointer over that icon. I have never had it crash if I click and immediately move the pointer away.
I'm trying to sideload Lollipop onto my Nexus 5 from the OTA zip file.
At this point, the adb recognizes the device after I plug in the USB cable, and spits out the serial number.
As I understand the instructions for sideloading, once I get to this point, I just need to reboot into recovery mode, (which works as expected) and then bypass the red exclamation point icon using "volume up and power" simultaneously. That works too.
At the point where the screen on the Nexus 5 says, "Now send the package you want to apply to the device with 'adb sideload <filename>' I type "adb sideload + the OTA image file name", which I renamed for convenience". The file is in the platform-tools folder.
At which point the command window reports: error: device not found
So... the device is seen by the adb, but somehow is no longer found after the device reboots in recovery mode.
I've replaced all the usb drivers, enabled usb debugging and developer mode on the Nexus device. I've tried this in windows 7 and also in Linux (both from the android sdk tool kit and from an installation of Eclipse). I'm unable to get the adb to talk to the Nexus 5.
I read the android-windows usb inf file, and there is no section specifically for the Nexus 5, but I added a line under the "generic android" section with USB\VID_18D1&PID_D001 as has been suggested elsewhere for people who couldn't get the OS to see their nexus at all. My issue is not that the OS can't see it... and the adb sees it, too, until I try to sideload the OTA file in Recovery Mode.
Anyone else having this issue, or better yet... any ideas on how to solve it?
Thanks
It turns out that I had not enabled USB debugging before I tried to do this using Linux Ubuntu / Eclipse / Android SDK. So my problem was really a windows USB driver problem, I guess (though I can't be sure, since windows did see the device until I tried to transfer the file. Maybe that message was really conveying a permissions problem, too...)
I rebooted into Ubuntu and tried again and was able to transfer the update file. The only hitch I encountered at that point was to issue the sideload command as root. I didn't do that the first time I tried it, and got a message about lacking permissions.
I suspect the posted reply with a link to a universal USB inf file would have worked, but, though I'm grateful for the tip, I can't testify to that, since I managed to transfer the file without Windows.
Thanks to all who looked at this and especially to Alex P., for posting a possible solution. FW
IW, I'm glad to have finally been able to do this, but for anyone struggling to get Lollipop ahead of the OTA update... well, it's nice, but hardly worth a lot of effort.
I have several applications in WPF that periodically crash on 2 different servers (a dell poweredge and a HP proliant). The problem is that the WPF applications both crash within d3d9.dll. Rebooting the servers always fixes the problem. The problem only occurs a few times a month. Both servers are running Windows XP instead of Windows 2003.
Here is the event viewer application log entry for the crash
Faulting application iqlayer.exe, version 5.3.1.14, stamp 4a9d0d63, faulting module d3d9.dll, version 5.3.2600.2180, stamp 41109693, debug? 0, fault address 0x0003a756.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Once this problem occurs, all further WPF applications will not run until I reboot. I even tried running a test application which showed a blank window. The test app crashed immediately on start at d3d9.dll.
I found this KB which i think is related to my problem. However, i didnt install directX SDK on my server and dont know where to uncheck "Break on D3D9 Error".
Did you upgrade your video card drivers to the latest version?
I reckon there is no answer. I have rebooted the server and cant reproduce the problem :(
