I'm building a Google Glass app and notice that New York Times has their little New York Times icon to the right of the "Just Now" time indicator in the lower right of each card. How are they doing this? Is this something I can upload in the API Console, or do I have to manually add this as HTML in each HTML page card? And how do you do it in the Glass browser? I don't see any examples in the templates. Any help is appreciated!
These icons are set up during the launch process for Glassware. Follow the steps on this page to submit your Glassware for launch review.
The little icon in the lower right corner that you see is called the source icon. Source icons are specified when you launch your Glassware and set up higher quota.

I'd like to pin a custom tile to the start menu and launch a website or desktop file when I click on it. There's an app called Better start menu, but it has to keep running and not the best experience.

i just implemented the PLAY_VIDEO menu item linked to a youtube video and it works.
The only enhancement i want to make to the flow is to remove one tap in order to stream the video.
Now the flow is the following:
1) User taps to prompt the menu for the card. The PLAY menu item appears.
2) The user taps on PLAY, the video start to load
3) The user needs to tap again to start the video.
Is there a way to stream the video right after the tap from point 2?

There is currently no way to setup a menu hierarchy, which I think is what you're getting at.
Plus, having that extra tap would be an inconsistent experience with the way playback behaves on Glass in the native app and other apps being created.
Why do you want to do the extra tap?
I searched for this and couldn't find any references to this.
In my iOS universal app, I wanted to display the information icon (same as the utility application) at the bottom right of my main view controller and use the same both for iPhone and iPad to flip over to display information about my app and other things. On the iPadd Utility application template with XCode 4.6, the information icon is displayed as a button on the navigation bar and a UIPopOver control is used to display information.
In my case, I don't want to use a UIPopOver on the iPad but use the same flip over effect both for iPhone and iPad when clicking the information icon. Is this a valid as per Apple's guidelines or guaranteed for rejection?.
I do exactly what you're thinking of doing in my app. I used the flip transition to display my info page using the information icon as the button image. I had no problems with Apple regarding this when I submitted.
I want to create videos of myself doing app demos on my iPod, how do I create a video version of screen shot?
Unfortunately, there is no way too take screen videos. You could just take a screen shot of the screen every time you change the screen, and perhaps edit the photo to show what you changed. Apple should definitely make a way to create screen videos.
There is no way to screenshot a video. But you could always take a picture of the video by pressing the home button and the lock button at the same time. Good luck!
I am working on wondows mango app and I have two XAML pages(say page1 and page2). On page1 I have a playlist and on page2 I have a media element that plays the song selected on page1, now what I want is to keep song playing in background as user switches between pages. I got a few links that keep song playing when app gets in background but not when a page is closed(by clicking back button).
How can I achieve this, all suggestions, pointers are welcome.

You'll want to use the BackgroundAudioPlayer for this. MSDN has a complete sample for playing audio in the background. You can download their sample from here. You can add a project to you application to handle processing background audio (if you need the audio to play after the app closes) or you can handle it all within the application itself my subscribing to the PlayStateChanged event. From the event you can set the next track.
