Refresh/Update a report page with checkboxes - checkbox

I am using APex 4.2. I have a page with a shuttle list, (page 31), where a user can select some job categories (e, a, c, x, etc). The user can then click a button, (Generate Report), and it will take them to a page (Page 27) where a report is displayed. Each row of the report has a checkbox that is defaulted to yes (starts off checked).
The report query is along these lines:
select 'Y' as Selector, name, id, etc
from table
where (instr(':'||:P31_JOB_CATEGORY||':',':'||JOB_CATEGORY||':') > 0)
where P31_JOB_CATEGORY represents the shuttle list.
I am passing the value of the shuttle list (P31_JOB_CATEGORY) to page 27, therefore having the actual query to the report on page 27.
I ultimately have a two part question.
Once the user views the report, they will see that each row is
checked and will be able to uncheck specific rows if neccessary.
Once they done checking/unchecking, the report should be
saved/submitted/refreshed with their made changes that will take
them to another page to see the report. I am having trouble
accomplishing this on button click.
Ultimately their changes will need to be seen on a pdf report,
where once they click the refresh button, the report will update
with their changes and then possibly redirect to a page that opens
up an open/save pdf report. But first I need to tackle refreshing
the page with the changes they made to the report by
checking/unchecking specific rows.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Tabbed Reports in SSRS

I have been working on reports in Sql Server Reporting services and I am trying to create a tabbed report.
I wish to have a main report which read in parameter details from the user then in the report there are tabs to other reports which use the same parameter details entered by the user on the main report.
Anyone got any idea how to go about this ? Have tried creating subreports but it doesnt quite create that overall feel of a tabbed report.
There is no native feature for tabs, but you can create that functionality with a combination of existing features.
Add textboxes along the top which will be your tab names.
Add a hidden parameter which will track which tab is selected. Have the first value selected by default.
Add an action to each textbox which goes back to the report with a specific value passed to the parameter.
Add an expression to the border properties of each textbox so that you can visually see which one is selected. For example you can remove the bottom border for the selected tab.
Add a visibility expression to everything else on the report so that the items only show up when their tab is selected.
Now each time you click a tab, it will refresh the report and show that tab highlighted along with the content it contains. It's a lot of steps, but it's the best workaround I've found for this feature.

Add a user clickable check box in SSRS report

I am creating a report that for the most part is populated automatically by using variables, parameters with my datasource and dataset. I am trying to add in another column that will have a checkbox, where when the user pulls a report he or she can manually go in and click a check box for various rows. The clicked check box is done by the user and there is no need to send or retrieve data with this check box. Is there a simple solution to where I can add a checkbox for the user to check (and uncheck) various boxes?
SSRS does not deliver this kind of functionality. You would need to have a flag for every displayed row somewhere in your database and add two images to your report, a checked and one unchecked "checkbox" image, show those images on each row (source over expression) based on the flag of the row. Add an action to the image, that executes a storedProc and flags or unflags the row (pass an unambiguous id as parameter).
This is rather dirty, but would work.

Opening Button to open form based on combo box selection

I currently have a MS Access database of members.
I have a form that has a combo box which is populated with just the first and last names of members. (using a test database for now)
What im struggling with is how do i create a button that opens another form i have created but using the selection in the dropdown box to populate the fields in the newly opened form.
When a user from the dropdown box is selected an open is clicked i want it to open the profile form populated with their details.
pictures and access files can be found on my ftp server:
ftp://ftp.legends-gym.co.uk
User: ftpuser#legends-gym.co.uk
Pass: ftpuser
Regards
I can't access ftp site from work so can't see what you've got thus far however, the key bits you want to look at here are:
Add a button to the form and the On Click Event to open your profile form. Something along the lines of docmd.openform "frmProfile", acNormal
You need something to pass the member you've selected in the combo box to the profile form. One way might be to use OpenArgs so have a look at that
You then could use the passed variable in OpenArgs to select the data you want to fill out your profile form.
EDIT...
OK, I've had a look at the file now. Here is what you need to do to fix your problems (and a couple of extra bits which aren't causing an issue but will improve the look and feel).
On the Format of the Home form and the Member Search form, set Navigation Buttons and Record Selector to false. - This removes the unnecessary elements for a "single" form, you're not looking at records.
On the member search form, remove the binding to the members table. - You don't need to bind this form, as the recordsource of the combo is pulling the data required separately. if you look at your form before you change it, you'll notice you've got 1 of 10 records...
Also, remove the filter criteria and set filter on load to No - You were filtering the wrong form.
On the combo box, remove the after update event. - I'm not sure what that was trying to do but its completely unnecessary.
On the command button, add an onclick event which has the following code DoCmd.OpenForm "Profile", acNormal, , "ID = " & Me.Combo361 & ""
Save everything and enjoy. :)
You weren't far wrong with the filter, but it's actually a WHERE clause when opening another form - sorry, my bad misdirection. What you were doing was filtering the original form - ie the member search form. Also, you don't need to put ' quotes around the ID, it's a number not a string.
If you have problems I can probably host this fixed version somewhere for you to download.

Inline add/edit/delete data in views in Drupal 7

I am trying to create a content type (say Meter). Each Meter consists of a "Meter Reading". This meter reading content contains three fields, say title, date range and usage. I have a Panel page where I display all the Meter Readings related to a parent Meter. I have displayed the Meter Readings in a tabular format.
I want the user to be able to add new Meter Readings without going to the default Meter Readings creation page. Rather than the default form kind of page, the user should be able to enter the data in the table view provided and it should be automatically saved into the project itself.
So, I want the functionality to be like:-
Display all the meter readings with two links, i.e., Edit and Delete,
When the user clicks on Edit link, the meter reading row should become editable and the user should be able to make the changes inline in the same table,
In the footer there should be a link for adding a new meter reading and when the user clicks on it, a new blank row should be added dynamically to the table and the user should be able to make a new entry into it.
Is there a module in Drupal 7 for doing so?? I have already tried out several modules for this such as SlickGrid, jQGrid and jEditable
Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
Am afraid am not aware about a module that does all that out of the box. But in case you carry on with custom coding you can have a look at the following:
Edit and Delete options per row in views
Use Views Megarow. For working example you can have a look at how its used in commerce backoffice. Please note that you need to write the form structure ( FORM api ) for the quick edit form in a custom module. The Views Megarow takes care of ajax populating the edit form, its submission in client side, and refreshing the original row after the response from server.
When the user clicks on Edit link, the meter reading row should become editable and the user should be able to make the changes inline
in the same table.
Views Megarow doesn't support inline editing. But another module as suggested by #nmc does it. Its editablefields. But it doesn't have any edit/delete button. You click on the text directly ( provided user has appropriate permission to edit the field data ) in view.
In case you are going to use editablefields, then you would have to add another delete button in view, which one confirmation would redirect to the page that triggered delete action.
Since delete button would redirect to a default confirmation page, you may want to code a custom delete action which may override this.
In the footer there should be a link for adding a new meter reading and when the user clicks on it, a new blank row should be
added dynamically to the table and the user should be able to make a
new entry into it.
I suggest creating a small ajax form. Create a "Add Meter Reading" button in it, which on submission would create a meter reading node in the server. The ajax form should have parent information in a hidden field ( i.e. the Meter id). The ajax response for this form could be another script to load/refresh the view on client side.
Client side code to refresh the view can be found in Views Autorefresh submodule in Views Hacks.
If using views megarow you would have to add another jquery function on ajax response after view is refreshed - Trigger edit button.
Otherwise you may have to add some classes or theme to newly created rows in view to bring them to focus.
It is important that the entire views refreshes, so that drupal behaviours are attached to the newly created entry in table.
I don't know if there is one module which will meet all your needs but you may be able to use some in combination.
Views Bulk Operations (VBO) - has Drupal 7 support
This module augments Views by allowing bulk operations to be executed
on the displayed rows. It does so by showing a checkbox in front of
each node, and adding a select box containing operations that can be
applied. Drupal Core or Rules actions can be used.
editablefields - Drupal 7 version in dev
This module allows CCK fields to be edited on a node's display (e.g.
at node/123), not just on the node edit pages (e.g. node/123/edit). It
also works within views etc. Anywhere a 'formatter' can be selected,
you can select editable (or click to edit).
editview - no Drupal 7 support yet but I thought I would mention it in case you're able to adapt the code yourself
Editview is a plugin for the Views module. It allows you to create a
view in which the nodes are editable, and new nodes can be created.

How do I place a hyperlink on every page of a SSRS 2005 report?

I am building a SSRS 2005 report that has potentially multiple pages. I would like to put in a hyperlink so that it appears on the top of every page. The hyperlink links back to the same report - basically I have a "summary" and "detail" mode and want to have hyperlinks to switch between.
So far I tried two approaches:
Put a textbox in the body, and in Properties -> Navigation, jump to a report. This works fine except it only shows on the very first page.
Drag the same textbox in the header of the report. Now it appears on every page, but clicking on it results in an error message: "The source of the report definition has not been specified".
google turned up nothing, what now?
Thanks.
The best way to do this is to implement the summary report to drill-down into the detail report and use the data on the detail row of the summary report's table to access the detail of that row as a detailed report. For example, let's assume the summary report is a list of invoices with total billed, and the detail report shows the items that were on that invoice.
Right-click the InvoiceNumber field in the detail row of the table and choose Properties
Click the Navigation tab
Click the Jump to report radio button and select the detail report from the drop down list
Click the Parameters button and fill in the parameter name and value - in this example, the parameter name might be InvoiceNumber and the parameter value would be =Fields!InvoiceNumber.Value
Click OK twice and you now have a hyperlink from the summary report to the detail report where the user can drill-down to get the detail of each invoice
Its also good to give a visual indication that this is a hyperlink so I set the Color to MediumBlue
If you just want to link directly to the complete detail report from the summary report and vice versa, you can use the same style on navigation settings but this time do it on a textbox on the header row of your table and make sure that the header has the RepeatOnNewPage property set to True so that it appears on every page.
To make your report go back to the home page
Right-click the Title field in the detail row of the table and choose properties
Click the Navigation tab
Click the Bookmark ID and type ="Home" Click OK twice now have a hyperlink to the home page
Place a text box on where pages are being created then right click on it and choose properties
Click the Navigation tab
Click the Jump to report radio button and put ="Home" Click OK twice
type the word Home in the box
