Silverlight whith SeparatorVisibility Collapsed in Headerstyle - silverlight

I use the property "SeparatorVisibility" with the value "Collapsed" in a datagrid column header to disable the separator between the headers.
It works fine when my zoom is "normal" in my navigator :
but when zoom is using :
The separators are visible and I don't understand why!

I apply this style header on each column header that I want to change.

The only solution I found is to disable the browser zoom with the command : Application.Current.Host.Settings.EnableAutoZoom = false;. – Fabrice Mainguené Apr 2 at 9:43

Silverlight - Passing values into a style element

So I've been playing around with Silverlight's button styling and, personal feelings about just how much effort you have to put in to do a simple on/off state, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to change what I've got so far so that I could use any images for the on and off states, and not have 7 x 60 lines of XAML for each button.

Thanks,
Greg.
Per my comments here is an example that I worked up. Note that I have not tested this so it may not work perfectly, but you should get the general idea.

Silverlight Button - Change Foreground Color on hover

I have created a style template for my Silverlight buttons, managed to create rounded corners and a hover state which changes the majority of the style without any issues, however...
I cant figure out how to make the Foreground colour change on hover.
See my code below, the part Im having issues with is currently commented out.
<Style TargetType="Button" >
<Setter x:Name="myFontColor" Property="Foreground" Value="#000000"/>
<Setter Property="FontSize" Value="11"/>
<Setter Property="FontStyle" Value="Normal"/>
<Setter Property="FontFamily" Value="Arial"/>
<Setter Property="FontWeight" Value="Normal"/>
<Setter Property="Padding" Value="0"/>
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate>
<Grid Height="28">
<Border x:Name="myBorder" BorderBrush="#C4C4C4" BorderThickness="1" CornerRadius="5">
<Rectangle x:Name="BackgroundGradient" RadiusX="5" RadiusY="5">
<Rectangle.Fill>
<LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1">
<GradientStop x:Name="GradientStop1" Color="#FDFDFD" Offset="0" />
<GradientStop x:Name="GradientStop2" Color="#D6D6D6" Offset="1" />
</LinearGradientBrush>
</Rectangle.Fill>
</Rectangle>
</Border>
<ContentPresenter VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center" />
<VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups>
<VisualStateGroup x:Name="CommomStates">
<VisualState x:Name="Normal" />
<VisualState x:Name="MouseOver">
<Storyboard>
<ColorAnimation
Storyboard.TargetName="GradientStop1"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="Color"
From="#FDFDFD" To="#0A284B"
Duration="0"
/>
<ColorAnimation
Storyboard.TargetName="GradientStop2"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="Color"
From="#D6D6D6" To="#135887"
Duration="0"
/>
<ColorAnimation
Storyboard.TargetName="myBorder"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Border.BorderBrush).(SolidColorBrush.Color)"
From="#C4C4C4" To="#000000"
Duration="0"
/>
<!--<ColorAnimation
Storyboard.TargetName="myFontColor"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="Foreground"
From="#000000" To="#FFFFFF"
Duration="0"
/>-->
</Storyboard>
</VisualState>
</VisualStateGroup>
</VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups>
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
Being fairly new to Silverlight, Id hope this just a simple issue with targeting the correct element and style.
How do I go about getting the Foreground color to change on hover?
Thanks in advance
First, put the ContentPresenter inside a ContentControl (this has the Foreground Property) then you can change it just like you did with the background:
<Style TargetType="Button" >
<Setter x:Name="myFontColor" Property="Foreground" Value="#000000"/>
<Setter Property="FontSize" Value="11"/>
<Setter Property="FontStyle" Value="Normal"/>
<Setter Property="FontFamily" Value="Arial"/>
<Setter Property="FontWeight" Value="Normal"/>
<Setter Property="Padding" Value="0"/>
<Setter Property="Template">
<Setter.Value>
<ControlTemplate>
<Grid Height="28">
<Border x:Name="myBorder" BorderBrush="#C4C4C4" BorderThickness="1" CornerRadius="5">
<Rectangle x:Name="BackgroundGradient" RadiusX="5" RadiusY="5">
<Rectangle.Fill>
<LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1">
<GradientStop x:Name="GradientStop1" Color="#FDFDFD" Offset="0" />
<GradientStop x:Name="GradientStop2" Color="#D6D6D6" Offset="1" />
</LinearGradientBrush>
</Rectangle.Fill>
</Rectangle>
</Border>
<!-- CONTENT CONTROL HERE -->
<ContentControl Name="content" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Center">
<ContentPresenter />
</ContentControl>
<VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups>
<VisualStateGroup x:Name="CommomStates">
<VisualState x:Name="Normal" />
<VisualState x:Name="MouseOver">
<Storyboard>
<ColorAnimation
Storyboard.TargetName="GradientStop1"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="Color"
From="#FDFDFD" To="#0A284B"
Duration="0"
/>
<ColorAnimation
Storyboard.TargetName="GradientStop2"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="Color"
From="#D6D6D6" To="#135887"
Duration="0"
/>
<ColorAnimation
Storyboard.TargetName="myBorder"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="(Border.BorderBrush).(SolidColorBrush.Color)"
From="#C4C4C4" To="#000000"
Duration="0"
/>
<!-- ALTERNATIVE WAY
<ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.Foreground)" Storyboard.TargetName="content">
<DiscreteObjectKeyFrame KeyTime="0" Value="White" />
</ObjectAnimationUsingKeyFrames>-->
<ColorAnimation
Storyboard.TargetName="content"
Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.Foreground).(SolidColorBrush.Color)"
From="#000000" To="#FFFFFF"
Duration="0"
/>
</Storyboard>
</VisualState>
</VisualStateGroup>
</VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups>
</Grid>
</ControlTemplate>
</Setter.Value>
</Setter>
</Style>
You can dothat by adding events MouseEnter and MouseLeave and change colors in event
example:
<Button x:Name="myButton"
Content="Button"
MouseEnter="myButton_MouseEnter"
MouseLeave="myButton_MouseLeave"/>
and in class C# you have to have methods
private void myButton_MouseEnter(object sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseEventArgs e)
{
myButton.Foreground=new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Red);
}
private void myButton_MouseLeave(object sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseEventArgs e)
{
myButton.Foreground=new SolidColorBrush(Colors.White);
}
Hope, that it is what you looking for.
Use Blend for designing any control. Using this you can easly create any style which you want
Just go through Creating a button
Try this:

Silverlight - button does not change a color

I want to have the following behaviour - when user mouse over on button, text inside button change color. I create the following style + template:
<Style TargetType="blib:ButtonWithImage">

but it does not work. Why?
The VisualStateManager.VisualStateGroups property should be attached to the root element in the Template which in this case is Border with the name "Background". Currently you have it on the Grid inside the border but the VisualStateManager won't find it.
Also your ButtonWithImage class must be derived from Button (unless you have your own code to call GoToState) but I suspect you have that already.

Visual States or Silverlight ComboBox

I'm trying to modify a siverlight combobox so that the "combo" part is ony visible when accessed. I changed the Opacity of the DropDownToggle part to 0 and changed the MouseOver Visual State to set the opcaity of the DropDownToggle to 50%.
This works fine, until I select an item in the control. Once I select an item, the Opacity of the DropDownToggle is fixed to 50% permanently, and I (apparently) can't get the combo to revert back to the "normal" visual state.
One more interesting visual artifact is that the control still responds to mouseovers as the gradient background changes when I mouse the control - it just never reverts back to "normal".
Any feedback is appreciated
Here's the XAML as requested - thanks!

Custom expand/collapse symbols in Silverlight TreeView using HierarchicalDataTemplate

I have a TreeView control where nodes are dynamically built using a HierarchicalDataTemplate. In other words, no TreeViewItems are explicitly defined in the XAML. TreeViewItems are instead created automatically when the data are bound at runtime (I can see them in Silverlight Spy).
Is it possible to customize the expand/collapse symbols (paths) within the TreeView in this case? Clients hate the default triangles as being hard to see and use. I've found references to doing this kind of thing, but only where the TreeViewItems are set up explicitly, so that a Style can be set in the XAML of the page. Another way of asking this I guess is whether it's possible to define and apply a style for the TreeViewItem when they are not in the XAML markup (or added in code as TreeViewItem).
Yes, you will need to change the TreeViewItem's style property. Here is one I'm using...
<Style x:Key="TreeViewContainerStyle" TargetType="controls:TreeViewItem">
<Setter Property="Padding" Value="3"/>
<Setter Property="HorizontalContentAlignment" Value="Left"/>
