AD Integration with a 3rd Party Web App - active-directory

I am currently working on a Third Party Web Application which is internally hosted. (We own the App Server and the DB )
We need the sign on or User Authentication to be integrated on to AD. Vendors may able to get this working obviously with a cost. I was wondering if anyone can put me on the right direction, may be the steps i should take to do this with the local development teams.

How to access the Project Server REST API using Azure AD App permissions?

I have a standalone web application (not an add-in) and I would like to access Project Server PWA oData from this web application without using the PWA username/password combination.
I can do this for SharePoint oData by registering my web app in Azure AD and configuring the application to require "Read" permissions from "Office 365 SharePoint Online"

My problem is that I want to do the same for a Project Server, but can't see any relevant Project Online permission in Azure AD.
Has any one ever accessed Project Online using Azure AD tokens?
My 10 Minutes of Internet Researchâ„¢ leads me to believe this isn't available but that it was a planned feature at one point. [see here]
Without knowing much (anything) about Project Server, this seems like a situation I've dealt with on AWS at work. We have a bunch of endpoints that are secured using IAM (AWS) credentials and we can't leave those creds lying around in our app (because that would be silly). Our solution is to generate access URLs server-side and hand them out, these typically will have a time limit and be restricted to a very specific action.
A quick search for Azure's equivalent to IAM tells me that you might be able to do something similar though I'm unsure it exists for Project Server.
That failing, you could always set up an intermediary micro-service that acts as proxy and has the username/password combo. We do stuff like this all the time with Lambda (AWS's serverless functions).

What technology to deploy RESTful Server with SQL+COM capability

We're developing a cloud based web application for customer management. One of the main goals i the capability to connect to different local applications on the customer endpoint.
As example, we don't want to have a customer database in out application, the customer should be able to search within his local ERP system right away.
What we need is not much. Only a client on the customers server with access to the local SQL server as well as the COM model.
But as webdevelopers and mainly going with PHP the question came up, what technology we should use?
I've got two approaches in mind:
NodeJS
Lightweight, Javascript and with the Express and winole32 extension we should have everything we need. But the deployment and installation as a service seems to be a bit wacky.
C# .Net Web API
Also a good approach I guess since the client servers are allways windows. But is there a way without IIS?
Or do you have something completely different in mind? It should be very fast and compact. So its basically just a RESTservice that can be deployed with ease.

It is called OWIN and it is properly documented (web api self host is a good keyword) and works like a charm. Using that on various services to expose an API into the service.

Pure Angularjs Single-Sign Up with ADFS

Does anyone know is it possible to do a single sign up web application with ADFS in a "pure" angularjs enviroment? I am at the point to decide which framework for my next project. One of the main requirement is the ability to do "single sign up" with ADFS, but I don't want to "mix" angularjs with asp.net, just make thing more complicated. I would like to go pure angular without any asp.net framework, is it even possible?
I know there are a lot of questions on this topic, but it seems no one is really answering the question. Is it because it's not doable?

The problem is not with your ADFS server, the ADFS protocol itself, AngularJS, JavaScript or the browser.
It's with the way you tell your client-side application that the user is logged in from your server-side application.
As far as I know there is no way to do "pass-through" authentication over HTTP so you will need to have your users go through the preauthentication step.
With ASP.NET you get an access token "for free" because the ASP.NET application runs on a machine that's in the "trusted" ADFS network. Your browser on the other hand is not. The only way for ADFS to know you are who you say you are is to preauthenticate you.
I just implemented it using the Azure Active Directory for JavaScript library. After IT registered my app for me, I was up and running in 10 mins. There is an AngularJs example in the source code. https://github.com/AzureAD/azure-activedirectory-library-for-js
You should also register your development workstation so you can test locally.

Passive STS to allow single sign-on for Silverlight app and a Classic ASP web site

Currently I am working on a LOB Silverlight application. Eventually, I need to implement a single sign-on for the new app and an old Classic ASP web app. Right now, the Silverlight App is secured using Forms Authentication through a custom Membership Provider.
Reading online, I've come to think that Passive Federated Security is what I need. But, I am struggling with following questions:
1) What is a relatively painless way to set up STS. I don't really want to spend a lot of time setting this up. I've take a look at WIF - it seems to require some platform changes so that really is not an ideal solution [Even though it seems relatively easy to set up]
2) How do I integrate Classic ASP app to use the STS? - Currently it is validating against a custom userStore and putting the authentication/authorization info in the session.
3) Eventually, users will be accessing both apps through a third-party portal that authenticates them outside of our organization. So, somehow the portal would need to be able to issue Security Tokens [SAML??] that the STS will understand.
I am currently focusing on 1 and 2. If anyone has even a slightest insight into this, that would be greatly appreciated.

Is OAuth and OpenID the right approach in this case?

I am still trying to wrap my mind around the workings of OAuth/OpenID, as such...
I am developing an "installed app" that will run on computers and iPhone. A given user may install the client app on multiple machines, and all of the user's installed clients will synchronize via a centralized Google App Engine service. The GAE service will also allow multiple users to collaborate on the data produced by the installed app, via a web app.
I don't want to roll my own authentication system, for my own ease and also to spare users from yet another set of credentials. As such I was initially thinking of using Google's clientlogin service, but then I thought OAuth/OpenID would be better because it would allow users to use not just Google credentials but also credentials from the other OpenID providers. Also, avoiding asking the user for a login/password seems more secure.
My question is... I'm not sure if this is the right use case for OAuth/OpenID. I am not accessing data from any other service, I am just looking for an authentication solution. Also, how difficult is this scenario to accomplish using Google App Engine (java)?
Any advice and/or starting points would be much appreciated!

The "use case" for oAuth is: App X requires access to App Y. App X "asks" permission for access to App Y through your credentials. App X received an "authorized access token".
In your case, assuming I understood correctly, you could have the App on GAE implement an OpenID consumer and have your mobile app access the GAE app through oAuth.
In other words, your approach seems like a sensible one.
