URL rewriting is not properly configured on your server - cakephp

I tried upgrading my cakephp version from 1.3 to 2.5 but encountered an url rewriting problem. Another cakephp app runs on the same version so I'm sure the mod_rewrite works.
Although when I go to example.com/pages/home I get following error:
URL rewriting is not properly configured on your server. 1) Help me configure it 2) I don't / can't use URL rewriting
When I go to my normal home page and I want to click on a home link I get following url :
http://example.com/app/webroot/index.php/
And it is the same for other urls.
http://example.com/antwerp becomes http://example.com/app/webroot/index.php/antwerp
When I go to http://example.com/antwerp the site works as it should...
Any ideas where I've gone wrong?

I would suggest accessing your account and re-uploading your .htaccess files from and to the following locations respectivelly.
/app
.htaccess
/webroot
.htaccess
.htaccess
Some FTPs do not upload those files automatically until you force it to.
If that does not work, check if you have your php.ini file in your public_html folder of this application.

when page refresh "404 - File or directory not found."

my react app is working locally but after the deploy, I faced the problem when I press any button there is no problem but if I want to refresh I see that problem "404 - File or directory not found."
I found this solution:
https://github.com/ReactTraining/react-router/blob/v3/docs/guides/Histories.md#browserhistory
Configure Your Server
"Your server must be ready to handle real URLs. When the app first loads at / it will probably work, but as the user navigates around and then hits refresh at /accounts/23 your web server will get a request to /accounts/23. You will need it to handle that URL and include your JavaScript application in the response."
But I don't know how can I do this
I try something but it doesn't work
TRY
npm run build, this will create build folder inside your project root folder
if you want to deploy to remote server just transfer that build
folder.
npx serve -s build on windows, if you are using mac kindly see if it is still npx.
then try to refresh every path of it
hope this works, happy coding.
Since the server cannot find the static content in the directory (i.e. not found the file /tomcat/accounts/23), it will give you 404 unless you have additional route handling.
In React routing I think you can try with HashRouter
See more details here:
https://github.com/ReactTraining/react-router/blob/master/packages/react-router-dom/docs/api/HashRouter.md
HashRouter vs BrowserRouter

react-router-dom does not work in web

I installed react-router-dom, and works fine in internal server, but when I upload the build version to my server does not redirect and seems like the url does not exist.
Please Help!
Here's a link to a credible .htaccess template:
https://github.com/react-boilerplate/react-boilerplate/blob/master/app/.htaccess
You'd want to put this in the same directory you're serving from. This is necessary to have apache correctly route calls. Alternatively, you could use HashRouter, which would work but would result in less pretty urls.

angular js path returns 404 error when https is used

Please keep in mind, I have not worked with angular JS, nor did I write the code that is causing the error.
I am getting an 404 error on this path:
https://www.helivalues.com/Su6UsWuf/bb/option/mfg/all
but not this path:
http://www.helivalues.com/Su6UsWuf/bb/option/mfg/all
It was noticed that when a user views a certain page in https, the drop down does not load options. Angular Js makes a call to the path mention above which is not an actually file but is used by a php file that based on this path, has a switch that fills in the drop down.
Any ideas on how to get the https version to work? This is on a joomla site and I do have access to the htaccess file if needed. I really just need it to work for a few months while I work on building a new site.
Thanks!
Angularjs is not the issue. Your webserver (Apache/2.2.15 (SuSE) Server at www.helivalues.com Port 443) states the file can not be found. So it looks like something is misconfigured with your apache site.

Joomla 3x Homepage 404 & configuration file error

I've started getting a 404 error on my homepage, yet I can still access the admin area.
Another issue I'm having (which I'm guessing is related) is that I cannot save any changes to the 'Global configuration' page and I get this message when I click save:
'An error has occurred.
0 Could not write to the configuration file'
The configuration.php file permission is set to 0644
This is the website URL: http://www.asgdesign.eu
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
1. htaccess
Check the .htaccess file, if you have one in the root folder of your website. If there are no obvious issues, try backing up .htaccess and copying the default htaccess.txt file to .htaccess to see if this helps.
2. SEF
Temporarily disable any third party SEF extensions that are installed.
3. Cache
Try clearing and purging the cache to ensure you are viewing the latest version of the website.

Debug CakePhp Step by step

My client want the code I've did in a subfolder.
I've put everything inside but I have only a blank page.
When I try to use phpinfo in the index file, nothing appears.
On the app/core.php the same
I don't have access to root to test if it's an issue with the root .htaccess or with my script.
Which cakephp file should be called first if the subdomain setup is good?
Thanks.
EDIT:
Ok I know what's wrong. SetEnv PHP_VER 5_3 does not work on the shared
hosting where my client have his main website. The client does not
want to upgrade the php version and this directive in the .htaccess
seems to be ignored. What alternatives do I have ...?
