can somebody please show me how to return the file modified date from the Silverlight XAP file that the client has just opened. I'm adding a tooltip that shows this date so that I can verify which version of XAP the client is running.
Thanks.
Because this project is in a state of flux, I'm doing updates every few hours. Currently there are about 3-4 users/testers but they can leave their browser open for the day. I have a poll function and I need this to send the date/time of the local XAP file back to the WCF server so it can let it know if an update is available. If so, the user will see a popup msg and prompt them to hit refresh.
I believe the RunningAssembly version would need to be updated by myself and is not automatically incremented with each build? If it is, then RunningAssembly is the way to go...
Thanks for the response..

I am developing a user script (Tampermonkey) locally. When the local JS changes, I want to automatically refresh the target URL of the user script instead of a local HTML file.
How can this be achieved? I checked every command and configuration information, but did not find a solution, so I came to ask for help.
The method of developing UserScript locally is seen here. The answerer mentioned that browser-sync can be used, but I did not find a way to achieve it.
livereload can solve this problem very well, because livereload is implemented through browser extensions and local programs. When the file changes, the target URL can be refreshed immediately.

First, I apologize that I don't fully understand what's going on here. I am new to AngularJS and I am building an app that I am running on localhost:3000. I make changes to my files, and I refresh the localhost:3000 page.
But after a few times of doing this, my changes do not get passed to the server.
Upon inspecting the developer tools, I see that it is using an older version of the file that I have overwritten with new code. No matter how many times I refresh the page, the changes do not get passed to the server.
If I come back after a few hours, it gets all the changes like it should. But only the first time, because every time after that I have the same problem.
I've tried restarting the http-server, I've tried closing and opening the editor, closing and opening the tab, restarting my computer, but none of these fixes the problem permanently.
If you need any more information, I'll edit it into this question. Thanks!
Try clearing your browser cache
Either
ctrl + f5
or
Right click on refresh button and choose the last option (hard reload)
(only in chrome, I guess)
That's almost certainly a caching issue.
You need to look at the network traffic when the page is downloading.
How you do that will depend on the browser you use, but try pressing F12 for a start
Check the RESPONSE headers for anything "cache"
Also check for a Status code of 304 - "Not Modified"
That might reveal to you instructions from the server to the browser to cache the file for a few hours, or that the browser is being told the copy it has is up to date.
Alternatively it might be server side caching, in which case I can't help you much.
One other solution is to change the file reference to include the date modified as a query string.
e.g.
instead of
src="/scripts/myscript.js"
use
src="/scripts/myscript.js?dt={filemodifieddateformyscripts.js}"
I am writing a automation script using selenium web driver for downloading multiple files one by one from a web site in Mozilla fire fox. I have downloaded first file successfully and next time I need to wait for download to complete. Can anybody help how to identify an ongoing download is completed using c# selenium web driver.? Since I am not getting the download complete status, I am unable to continue downloading next file.
Assuming you are testing file downloading in Firefox as you mentioned. Here is an approach to achieve what you want.
Open new window/tab in Firefox and navigate to 'about:downloads' directly.
i.e. driver.Navigate().GoToUrl("about:downloads");
You will get the list of downloads (i.e. already downloaded files and the file which is being downloaded currently.)
You will have to switch between your site tab and downloads tab.
Now on downloads tab, looking at HTML, you can easily find out in progress download using state or status attributes.
For example, for the first file in the list, if state="0" and/or status
contains the text 'remaining', it means downloading is in progress
So you can wait till state becomes state = 1 and/or status does not contain >the text 'remaining'
Refer the attached screen shot.
The explanation I gave here looks very high level, but I am sure this approach will work. It is simple too.
Let me know if you have any queries on this.
After changing a file, say myfile.asp, changes to this file are not shown when you invoke the file.
To test, I have deleted the file from the web site. Effectively, when you invoke the file, web says it does not exist. Yet when you re-upload the file, it still does not show your changes.
Any help?
Ok. I kept on trying. UNTIL...
I STOPPED and STARTED the website. problem solved.
Hope it helps somebody else.
I am new to OTRS and I am still familiarizing myself with the platform. Recently for some particular reason the attachment uploader started not to work - basically whenever a file is attached, the page refreshes and the file is lost. Any ideas on why this is happening?
One problem might be the file permissions on the server side. Please see my comment above and provide more details.
