brew doctor told me to move macports: sudo mv /opt/local ~/macports
So I did that and now nothing works properly. What would be the command to move macports back to where it was?
I think you mean:
sudo mv ~/macports /opt/local
mv is a standard unix shell command to move files and directories.

Hello guys I am in pop os and I tried installing libasound-2 dev package from https://ubuntu.pkgs.org/21.04/ubuntu-main-amd64/libasound2-dev_1.2.4-1.1ubuntu2_amd64.deb.html
but after trying to install it there comes a error saying :
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libasound2-dev: Depends: libasound2 (= 1.2.4-1.1ubuntu2)
P.S : I was trying to install graphics.h but it showed error in libsound2-dev package and libpulse where libpulse is solved. Due to which I could not install SDL.

I am attempting to install MsSql on Ubuntu 16.04, but when I run sudo apt-get update this error is thrown
Malformed line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mssqlserver-list (type)The list of sources could not be read.
If I run the command lsb_release -a I get this output
Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTSXenial
And I am attempting to follow this guide - which shows it should work on this version...
SSMS on Ubuntu 16.04
What am I missing here?
EDIT
If I run the command vi /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mssqlserver-list
This is what is shown
<html><br>
<head><title>404 Not Found</title></head>
<br><body bgcolor="white"><br>
<center><h1>404 Not Found</h1></center>
<hr><center>nginx/1.10.3 (Ubuntu)</center><br>
</body><br>
</html>
The file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mssqlserver-list is meant to contain a link to where the installation file will be downloaded from.
Following the link of the installation guide that you mentioned above, this command sudo add-apt-repository "$(wget -qO- https://packages.microsoft.com/config/ubuntu/16.04/mssql-server-2017.list)" is meant to serve that purpose, and when you check your /etc/apt/sources.list file, you should see the following line deb [arch=amd64] https://packages.microsoft.com/ubuntu/16.04/mssql-server-2017 xenial main or something close to that.
To remedy your error, delete the file you mentioned above using command
sudo rm -rf /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mssqlserver-list
then run the sudo apt-get update again.

~ $ sudo apt-get install clang-3.5

Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
clang-3.5 is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 167 not upgraded.
but when i try to use clang it shows something like this
~ $ clang
The program 'clang' can be found in the following packages:
* clang-3.3
* clang-3.4
* clang-3.5
Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package>
please help .
Its called "clang-3.5" like it says
Try:
$ clang-3.5
If you want to just type clang you can
$ sudo ln -s /usr/bin/clang-3.5 /usr/bin/clang
Also on a side note you have updates available.
Also stackoverflow is not the right forum for this questions

I am trying to build Linux Fusion for DirectFB. I downloaded it from directfb.org .
The steps are described in README. They are asking for modprobe fusion after make and make install.
When i run this command i get the error:
Module Fusion not found.
What are possible issues and how can I resolve them?
I think you have followed all steps
http://www.directfb.org/downloads/Core/linux-fusion/README
and now still you getting that error it means
your make and make install were not successful. Do you see any error messages on terminal after running make or make install?
If make and make install were succusfull then modeprobe fusion should work
Edit from chat discussion
Using
modprobe fusion
will try to find fusion.ko in /lib/modules/$(uname -r) but some how .ko was not there or not working after make install so
tried with
cd go_in_fusion_directory
insmod fusion.ko
worked fine...!!
