How to read full logcat lines with -vtime options with JellyBean? - logcat

I have an application on ICS (4.0.3) that uses logcat with -vtime option.
It reads the logcat using this code:

I use "android.permission.READ_CALL_LOG" and "android.permission.READ_LOGS" in my manifest file and I manage to have the full logcat.
When I use this code with JellyBean (4.1.1), my buffer only catch my app logcat and not the full device logcat.
How can I have this full logcat? Is it another permission?

JellyBean (4.1.1) does not grant 3rd party applications to access a full system logcat. Application can only see own logging rows. I think you don't need to give READ_LOGS permission in AndroidManifest.xml anymore(any app can logcat own lines).

If you still want to read a full logcat you need to rooted device and give superuser access to your application.

How to generate qrcode in codename one

I'm trying to generate qrcode code in my application with qrgen and then saved in specific file but there is a problem in the libary 'java.io.FileOutputStream' where it can not be found. i want to know how to replace the libary and if there is another way to generate qrcode please share it with me

That isn't supported. Mobile devices don't have a file system in the way desktops have so this logic just won't work. There is a file system but it's to a large part private to the application, see: https://www.codenameone.com/manual/files-storage-networking.html

ADF: How to get path of file when using InputFile Component

I am using jdeveloper version 11.1.1.5.0. In my use case I have created Mail Client Send Mail program where I used ADF InputFile component to attach File on mail.
But problem is that InputFile Component only return path of file(only get file name). And in my mail program DataSource class use full path to access file name.

String fname= uploadfile.getFilename();//this line only get file name.
So how can I get full path using adf InputFile component or any other way to fulfill my requirement.
You could save the uploaded file in a path at the server. Only take care about naming that file, because of concurrency of users you should follow a policy about it, for example, adding te time in milliseconds to the name of the file. Like this...

This method also returns the new name of the uploaded file. You can replace getTimeInMilis() with any naming policy you like.
It would be a security issue if a web app is able to see anything other than the data stream for an uploaded file. The directory structure of the client would not be exposed to the webapp. As such, unless you plan to upload the file from the same host as the server, you will not have access to the file path on the client.

Create a SQLite database with Monotouch - permission denied

I am trying to create a Sqlite database using Monotouch 3.0.3.4. Everything works fine on the iPhone simulator, but I get the following error on the test iPhone:
DataLayer.CreateDatabase Exception: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "/private/var/mobile/Applications/4B4944BB-EC37-4B0C-980C-1A9B60DACB44/TestApp.app/myDatabase.db3" is denied.
Here is the code I am using:

That's likely MonoDevelop 3.0.3.4. See About MonoDevelop to get the MonoTouch version.

On devices the applications are signed, so their content can't change (without breaking the signature). As such you're not allowed to change things in the .app directory.
You should create (or copy) the database in the Documents directory and then open the database as read-write.

Silverlight runs with very restricted access to the client user's filesystem. When using an open-file dialog, you can get the name of the selected file within its parent folder, the length of the file, and a stream from which to read the data in the file, but not much more than that. You can't read the full path of the file selected, and you are getting the exception because you are attempting to do precisely that.
If you want to read the entire content of the file into a byte array, you'll have to replace the line
localFile.Content = System.IO.File.ReadAllBytes(oFileDialog.File.FullName);
with something like
localFile.content = ReadFully(oFileDialog.File.OpenRead());
The ReadFully method reads the entire content of a stream into a byte array. It's not a standard Silverlight method; instead it
is taken from this answer. (I gave this method a quick test on Silverlight, and it appears to work.)

Generating RDP file on the fly

I want to create a web application similar to TS Web Access, where I can create rdp files on the fly for Remote Apps configured on the server. Any idea??

Be aware that that the RDPSign.exe is different on each version of windows. You will find that an older version of the utility will ignore newer settings from the signature.
