I'm currently setting up the Apache Jackrabbit standalone for a future Symfony project. However, I get a malformated url exception in the jackrabbit.log_IS_UNDEFINED file. Apart from the log files, as far as I can tell, no other files are created.
There is a 503 error on port 8080 with the message that the service is unavailable.
I use Java 8 and the error message comes on both Ubuntu and MacOS Catalina, as well as in the Jackrabbit versions 2.16.6 and 2.20.1
Does anyone have an idea how to fix that? Unfortunately, I only have a very basic understanding of this.

The error message you shared clearly states UNAVAILABLE: Credentials failed to obtain metadata, so it looks like the error is related to credentials in App Engine. Apparently, and according to your description of the issue, your application is working properly when being run in the local development server, but once you deploy it to your App Engine Standard application, it fails. It all indicates that you may have a faulty credentials configuration.
As explained in the Authentication section in the guide you shared, and also in App Engine's documentation, App Engine Standard uses the Application Default Credentials for authentication. To do so, it checks for credentials in the environment variable GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS, and if they are missing, it will use the default service account from your App Engine application.
Knowing that, your possible issue is that you are pointing to a credentials file that is not available in the remote (App Engine) environment. Therefore, my recommendation is that, if you think you can work with the default App Engine service account, you just leave the GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS environment variable and the spring.cloud.gcp.credentials.location property empty so that App Engine takes the default credentials from its own service account. Bear in mind that it should have permissions to interact with Pub/Sub in order for it to work too, so you may have to grant roles to the service account if needed.

I build it from the sources in the following way (just followed the instructions on Flink github page):

Underlying distributed runtime is currently heavily worked on in master. Starting from 1.5 the default runtime will be the one known as FLIP6, therefore ocassionally some parts might not work. I think it would be very beneficial if you could create a JIRA ticket for this.
Just to add what runs on 9065 port, in the new architecture it is the default port of Dispatcher.
I had the same exception. My issue was that I had a port conflict when started the cluster with a docker image on my machine. So I had changed the port for rest in flink config file to use 8084 instead of 8081. When I did this the cluster would start up properly but I was unable to submit the job. When I killed the conflicting process and reverted the port back to 8081, I could submit jobs successfully

We had the same issue.
It turned out that on the server side an external event was forcefully closing the connection at some point during the call, which was causing this error.
I was facing same issue with creating wss(secured) webscoket api using tomcat's jsr-356 and deploying over aws ec2 and referring via domain from cloudflare.
To fix the issue I made 2 changes:
- changed cloudflare proxied mode to DNS only in A record.
- Bought new certificate and started using that from tomcat instead of cloudflare's origin CA certificate.

I am fairly new to groovy/grails and trying to deploy a grails app(WAR file) which uses Grails 2.1.1 and CXF plugin 1.0.1 to WebSphere 8.
This is the first time I am deploying Grails 2.1.1 app to WebSphere 8, with CXF plugin for SOAP based Web Services and I am running into some issues. Same app deploys and works fine locally on Tomcat and I am able to get to my web service and access WSDL file.

Try to add the following to your BuildConfig.groovy to exclude the JAXB implementation and Apache serializer related libraries.

Then rebuild your war to see if it works.
If everything is working fine on Tomcat, it sounds like a librairy conflict with IBM Websphere.
Be sure to configure the classloader to Parent last so that your application will override WAS librairy.
