On my Form I have a Top Panel, a Bottom Panel and a TableLayoutPanel between them, where the main information is displayed. When user clicks on one row in this TableLayoutPanel, the item is considered to be viewed and next items should slide one position forward (row 1 becomes row2, row2 becomes row3 and row3 gets new data). I want this slide action for the user to visualise the change.
you will have to implement the needed painting yourself.
you could override OnPaint and let all painting be handled by the original OnPaint except when your sliding should happen...
when your sliding happens, you could take a second TableLayoutPanel that is not present on your form, that contains all 4 rows (the old 3 rows + the new one) and draw that onto a bitmap image (Control.DrawToBitmap())
now you have a bitmap that is larger than your sliding TableLayoutPanel ... now take that bitmap and use the desired part of it to get your sliding animation ... instead of calling the original OnPaint, you can take the desired region from the bitmap ... you will of course have to calculate the desired region first, depending on the desired speed of your sliding animation, smoth start and stop, or whatever comes to your mind ...

Beginner in Visual Studio here.
I'm trying to create an C# Windows Form application that simply displays a form to show some information about the local system.
I have created this form with the help of the VS designer:
As you can see, it consists of a simple panel with a PictureBox at the top, a label below it (both centered), three table layouts next to each other, and a button at the bottom. Never mind the label texts.
The rows of all the table layouts are set to absolute, this is because I want to programatically add rows to the end middle and right table layout if there are more than one local IP address in the computer and setting the rows to auto size or percentage would make alignment difficult if more rows are added.
Now, my problem is that I can't figure out how to make the form resize and move the controls (specifically move the 'OK' button down) when more rows are added.
I have tried anchoring the button to the bottom edge of the form as well as the bottom of the middle table, both produce the same result: the button stays where it is and the new rows overlap it, like this
I would also like to know how to have the form resize to fit the contents of the labels. For example, if the text in one of the labels inside the layout is bigger than the column width, I'd like to have the form grow to accommodate it. Likewise, I'd like the form to shrink to fit the largest text.
I realize that this may not be the most efficient or easiest way to create this particular form, but it is what I've come up with, I of course welcome any suggestions in that regard. It is important to maintain alignment between the rows of all table layouts.

Use a data grid and add controls to it if an add button is pressed. You can scroll through the rows so you won't need to adjust the height of the form
I want to anchor below datagridviews to top, left, right & down in a way that they don't over lap when the size of form is increased or decreased. Dock and Anchor both don't seem to provide any solution for this.
You probably need to have a TableLayoutPanel handle that. Three columns, middle column is fixed (Absolute), the outside columns would be based on percentage (50% each).
The DataGridView controls would then be dock-filled into each side column.
Or just handle the layout yourself in the form's Resize event.
I have stack panel with custom controls in it. User can add or remove the items.
I have attached MouseDragElementBehavior to each item. So now user can move them within the stack panel.
However the items now are arranged on arbitrary manner. Is a mess really. They stay where the user left them.
What I need now is to make them to be stacked as the stack panel supposed to be... Nicely one by one...
So I need to simply let user change the order of items by using drag / drop operation but items has to be stacked precisely.
There is DragFinished event, but I dont really see how the Behavior moves items. I thought it is Margin it changes but margins stays 0... I dont know what to do next.

MouseDragElementBehavior does its work using a Transform on the RenderTransform property of the attached element (i.e. the one the behavior is applied to) (the exact type of transform depends on the state of the RenderTransform property but it will either be a TranslateTransform or a MatrixTransform).
The transform is not reset when you finish dragging (nor would you want it to be because the element would snap back to its position in the StackPanel when you started dragging) and this is why the element stays where "the user left them".
To change the items position in the StackPanel in the way you are talking about you will have to use the DragFinished event. What you probably want to do is work out where in the StackPanel the element will end up (as a result of the drag, i.e. which element in the panel it will "push" down) then create an animation to animate the element from its current position (where the user released the drag) to that final position in the StackPanel and another animation to move the "pushed" element in to its new position in the StackPanel (VisualTreeHelper can probably help here (I think)). Once those animations are finished just set the new index within the StackPanel for each item and remove the RenderTransform translation.
I have a dialog with column down the right side filled with buttons. The dialog is built with Windows Forms. I have a mockup at the following link:original dialog

I would like for the buttons in the right column to resize themselves to fill the remaining vertical space when the dialog resizes. It doesn't particularly matter to me whether or not buttons simply increase in size or whether the buttons remain the same size while the gaps between them increase. I'm simply want the buttons to go from the top to the bottom. (I have a mockup for this as well but apparenlty i can only include one link)
I've tried hosting the buttons in a FlowLayoutPanel but they do not increase as the dialog stretches, I only get whitespace at the bottom after I run out of buttons. I also tried a TableLayoutPanel and had the same result but I may have misused it. Does anyone have any ideas how I could accomplish this?

To get you started. Use the TableLayoutPanel, set its Anchor property to top, bottom, left, and right. Set the rows and columns to percentages as needed. I suggest each control have it own cell. Note that each control in a "cell" can have its Dock and Anchor property set as needed.
You can do this with a TableLayoutPanel. Create a column for the buttons, with each button having it's own row / cell in the column. Set each row to be an even percentage for height (if there are 10 buttons, each row would be 10%), and dock the TableLayoutPanel to the right side of the screen. Then, put the buttons into their rows and set them to full docking. Then, when the dialog expands, the TableLayoutPanel will expand to fill the entire right side of the screen, each row will adjust proportionally, and each button would expand to fit the new row size.
You may have to adjust this a bit to fit your needs, especially in how it relates to the other content in the window.
A client has asked for a display to flick over like an airport display screen, ie each row flicks over when information changes.
I am not sure which is the best control to use, or the method of getting each row to transform one after the other.

Here's what I would do in general concept..
Make a regular panel of, say 50px high. (This is arbitrary but this panel just holds the size in place so the control doesn't shrink with its contents.)
Create a panel inside that one that will be the 'animated' panel.
When it's time for information to animate, create a storyboard that uses a transformation to "stretch" the height down to 0, change the content to the updated information, then tranform stretch the height back to 50px. This will create the illusion that the panel is flipping over.
If you make this a user control, then you could simply add however many "rows" you needed of this control to a StackPanel to make your screen.
The best way of representing this effect easily is to randomize the text during the change.
