I have a page with a MVCGrid calling a modal form from external page:
$g1=$p->add('MVCGrid');
$g1->setModel('Student');
$g1->addButton('Add New')
->js('click')
->univ()
->dialogURL('Add New', $this->api->getDestinationURL('newStudent'));
The external page has the form and works fine:
$f=$page->add('MVCForm');
$f->setModel('Student');
if($f->isSubmitted()){
$f->update();
$f->js()->univ()->closeDialog()->execute();
}
But after a new Student is added, the grid is not updated, how do I update it?
Is this this the right way to do this?
(I'm trying to have a similar function that the CRUD but only for Create.)
It's exactly the same as https://stackoverflow.com/a/8966784/204819
put the refresh code as 2nd argument to js() function, while using "null" as first.

I am attempting to use $mdToast.updateTextContent() to update a toast and am unsuccessful. The docs don't go into detail on how to call it with a new message. My desire result would have the first toast display 'Adding account' then change to 'account successfully added'. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think the correct way to approach this using material design standards would be to only use the toast once the account has been added. The loading could be a spinner or maybe a loading bar (maybe like this http://materializecss.com/preloader.html)
Once the $mdToast is open, you're able to call updateTextContent (as you stated)
$scope.onAccountAdded = function() {
$mdToast.updateTextContent('Account successfully added')
};
We're watching the variable for changes and update the view automatically, once the value has changed.

Here is a demo, which shows how it works.

I have an application which deals with projects evolving according to a process defined by a series of status transitions. I have a button to set a project to the next status. The button calls a function in the ProjectsController. This function calls another function in the Project model, where I search for the correct transition, depending on the current status, the user_group and some other parameter, and set the new status. After everything successfully accomplished, I return to the original page with 'return $this->redirect($this->referer());' from the controller.
Some of the transitions have side effects. One is to create a PDF, save it on the server and add a new entry to the 'documents' table referenced to the current project.
Problem: where should I put the function to create the PDF? I would like to put it to the Model. But I need some View Files to first render a html page and then convert it to the PDF. I could put it to the Controller. But then I have a controller function which should not be called directly an doesn't render a view.
The functions all work, but where to put them? Is there another possibility? Would it be possible to use a component?
Implement it as PdfView that will render any (pdf) view for you as Pdf. There is already a plugin that does this, search for CakePdf on Github.
A component is clearly the wrong place. A Pdf is output, so it's a kind of view. Model gets you the data, controller sets it, view renders it.
I'm a beginner with AngularJs and i have some trouble understanding how to use $cookieStore :/
I have a lot of buttons. Everytime a button is clicked, a distinct function is called in the controller, and in this function, i'm trying to store a value in a cookie
example :
$cookieStore.put('cookie', '1');
And at the loading of the page, i added this line :
alert($cookieStore.get('cookie'));
When we load the page for the first time, it's normal to get an "undefined" popup. But the problem is, even after clicking multiple buttons, i always got an undefined popup after refresh.
Here's a working demo : http://plnkr.co/edit/6kuqaT7ISpo7uEwLHcZn?p=preview
Please help
Thanks
I checked your plunker cookie is setting properly :-)
Use STOP AND RUN button for refresh :P
I saw similar problem with refresh + $cookieStore some time ago, try using sessionStorage, if your target browser(s) allow that.
What Angular version do you use?
I have an ionic app that has a search template that has a form where you can query posts by keyword. I also have a service that returns the post(s) as a list on another view. All that is working well.
My search controller upon submitting the search form uses:
$state.go('app.search.results', {'searchId': hash});
so that I can have a unique url for that search. I needed this unique url to implement 'back' functionality so that if a user clicks on one of the posts in the list, after viewing the post if they decide to click back, they would get to see the results of the search still (by default they would be returned to the search form without any results anymore).
To allow for a back to search results I implemented a custom back button function and put it on the ionic back button element like this:
<ion-nav-back-button ng-click="goBack()">
and then setup a the custom function:
$scope.goBack = function() {
$window.history.back();
}
All of this works well, I can go back to search results and see them, essentially very much like normal browser back functionality.
Problem for me is that when I have gone all the way 'back' via the back button, my initial state contains the 'Back' button and clicking it does not go anywhere and the 'Back' button still shows. Ionic does pretty good about hiding the back button when it shouldn't be there but in this case not so. Any ideas for how to check when history is exhausted and hiding the back button conditionally would be appreciated.
EDIT:
Here is a jsFiddle ; Note: open fiddle in a new, separate tab to see back button issue. FYI Search is in the menu.
One of the few qualms I have with Ionic is their "smart" navigation. I have run into a lot of problems with this myself. My solution was to create a back button of my own, this back button stores previous states and their params so you can go back and not lose search results for example with your scenario.
This component gives you both a back button and breadcrumbs to use (or you can just use back button)
It is open source and feel free to use it!

You use $window.history.back(), I think you should use $ionicHistory.goBack(); instead. It can control the history and view and state in the ionic way.
I'm currently working on a single-page scrollable website (5 pages displaying as a single page) using CakePHP. I have worked on each controller action and everything runs well. I have one layout for the entire app and a view for each action. My challenge is finding a way to load the view of each action without reloading the page inside the layout. Should I just put all the view content inside the layout (without echoing $content_for_layout) or could there be a better way to do it?
Considering the div you want to update has the id #content:
$.ajax({
url:"http://yourdomain.com/controller/action",
context:document.body,
dataType:"html",
data:{id:123}, // in case you need to pass some params
success:function(data){
$("#content").html(data);
}
})
The action must return the HTML you want to display inside that div. If you want to have each pags loaded in different div's, you will have to create one div for each page and call AJAX for each one.
When the page is loaded for the first time, you can just pull the data for whatever default action you defined. Then, when you want to change the content, just call AJAX.
