How would I go about implementing a feedback function on a windows phone 7 app? I've considered creating a form that sends an email with the data to an address I own, but I wonder if there is a better solution.
I personally think the simplest and best solution is to use EmailComposeTask to send the feedback via email.
You could either just put some questions/suggested text in the Body - or you could fill the Body in with some information from a SL form.
One of the advantages of the EmailComposeTask is you will definitely get their email address to reply to. Another advantage is that the feedback will work even when there isn't currently a network connection - it'll just get added to the outbox for later processing.
Well, I would create a webservice that can receive that data. It could be useful in case you have a backend system that can make some data statistics.

I'm looking for a way (and not even sure if this is possible) to update an Angular expression on my HTML page when data is sent to an API.
For example, say I have $scope.message on my .html page. Is there a way I can send a message to an API (e.g. http://...?message=foo) and have my page update with the message sent?
Also, I need the $scope.message to be updated in an Angular Service so it is available to multiple pages within my website.
I am wanting this to be a live update, but if not, I am happy with some code executing on a timer or something similar.
Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm guessing it may not be possible, but just in case I haven't explained it correctly, I'll try and simplify it.
I can only find information about using AngularJS to send GET commands OUT to a URL and receive data back. I need to send a JSON string TO my Angular site to update a variable. So basically as a field updates in my database, I want another server application to send an alert to my Angular site to update the status of this value live. I don't really want to run a constant check of the database if I don't have to.
I am open to any other suggestions on how to achieve this.
if you don't care about old school browsers, you can try using WebSocket, it is similar to a TCP socket, which allows you to push from server to client. I would create a service that manages the websocket connection, and update scope when receiving message. Hope this help. i have done a security app which locate a iPhone and send the GPS location of the phone through message to an associated number this functions works good until iOS 5, but the issue is sending SMS without users knowledge is restricted in iOS 6, so i need a help here instead of sending message, is there any other possible way or replacement for this function? any answer related to this method are appreciated.

You haven't specified whether your ios app has a server. If yes, you can transmit location to server and that in turn can transmit it to intended user via specific api.
If this is not correct, APNS is your friend. This is a way to send messages to desired devices only, the ones who explicitly registers through your app.
Another quite equivalent option is to store it in public back-end like parse.com. As soon as other devices start your app, they can pull your location from there. If their device is already live, parse.com can make sure to notify them as soon as you change your location value in their DB.
I got an assignment to do and for that I could use any www technology like HTML, JavaScript, PHP etc. I'm really sorry to say that I haven't studied any of these technologies. Therefore I took few tutorials and skimmed through them searching for answers.
I found solutions for many problems but one problem yet unsolved. It is this:
I want two clients to communicate through a server for this assignment. One send a message, server processes it and forwards it to the next.
None of PHP tutorials showed me anyway of doing this. All of them talked of communication between one client with a server.
Please help. Show me a way to do this. Thanks.
Currently, without reverting to cutting-edge (and possibly hacky/unreliable) techniques, your PHP server cannot initiate communications with a page you've already loaded into a web browser. This is a result of the way the HTTP protocol works.
One way to solve this would be polling on the "receiving" end for data. Something like a publish-subscribe pattern.
One way to do this would be:
One client sends data to the server using an HTTP request (XHR aka AJAX) specifying the target for this data (the other client).
The server stores this data in a persistent storage (local file, database, etc).
The second client periodically sends a request to the server asking if there's any new data for it to consume. This can be done using setInterval and XHR in JavaScript.

Now, I want a scenario wherein the Admin Silverlight can initiate a function call on the User Silverlight.
Pretty much a newbie with SL so wonder if that would be possible.

I suppose the applications are not in the same browser / machine, and when you describe the usage pattern as admin and user, I take that there are probably more users than admins.
You might want to take a look at duplex bindings for WCF services - this is a web service binding that allows pushing notifications to clients from the server. When all clients establish such a channel, you can implement hub-and-spoke communication between clients.

If they are both in the same frame/browser, you could call JavaScript in the first using the HtmlPage API, which could interact with the second.
So:
Silverlight control -> injects JS into HtmlPage -> JS interacts with Silverlight control 2 (assuming this is possible, please correct me if wrong) -> Silverlight control responds.
If they are in separate windows or running "out of browser", I would expect it wouldn't work.
If the 2 instances are seperated (i.e., the admin is on one machine and the user is on another) there's no direct way to do it. However, you can rig it up with a publisher/subscriber style system.
Assumption: You have some sort of shared data store between the two, maybe a database or something.
Idea: You have the admin client write a request to this shared data store; an entry in a table, or a new file in a network share, or something. You have the user client app regularly scan this table/share for new entries, say every .5 seconds or so. When it sees the entry, it executes the requested operation, storing any return values back to the shared store. When the admin sees the return value, he knows the operation has been successfully executed.
There are a couple of options that I can think of.
You could implement some sort of remote procedure call via web services whereby one Silverlight app posts a request to call the method, and the other Silverlight regularly checks for method call requests.
If hosted on the same HTML page in a browser, you could use javascript to allow the two controls to interact.
However, direct communication between two Silverlight instances isn't supported, and while the suggestions may help to achieve something close to what you want, they don't provide a complete solution that will work in all scenarios.
I am developing a web app that will be hit frequently by mobile browsers. I am wondering if there is a way to get enough information from the browser request to lookup position data (triangulation or GPS) Not from the request directly, of course. A colleague suggested there some carriers supply a unique identifier in the request header that can be sent to a web service exposed by said provider that will return position data if the customer has enabled that. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this or any other method for gleaning position data, even very approximate. Obviously this is app candy, e.g. if the data is not available the app doesn't really care...
Or perhaps a web service by carrier that will provide triangulated data by IP?
Google has ClientLocation as part of their AJAX APIs. You'll need to load Google's AJAX API (requires an API key) and it'll try to resolve the user's location data for you.

The examples work great. The user will always be prompted to share their location--don't know a way to avoid that.
Use the source IP address to approximate a network location. No, you won't get latitude and longitude in an HTTP request from an iPhone. Not unless you write a 3rd party app and ask them to run it.
You might be better off just running a poll on your website.
I know that some providers in Japan have a tracking service for location of cellphones.
I also know that the information is not public. I think you need to have a very good reason before the provider gives that information free as it is in my opinion sensitive personal data. Of course they will give the information to police officers but not to the general public.
