can some help write a code in c to get 24 bit bmp pixel values into 2d array for processing of it
thnx in advance
This article details converting bitmaps into C arrays.

I wonder if you even bothered to google this, there were many different websites that talk about this and provide code.
The Wikipedia page about the BMP file format contains extensive information about the format, including the data structures for C/C++ to read it. That's a good starting point.

I am looking for a way to start detecting faces in an image.
Any recourses that you use or find best for beginners?
Thanks.
Generally there are at least two approaches.
Finding a face based on the color (e.g face color and hair color)
Based on characteristics of the face (we have two eyes, and a nose below etc.)
Try this page that describes basic techniques of face detection

I was asked this during an interview, and I wasn't able to come up with an answer.
The idea is to write a program using only the C standard library, and find out how many CPU cores the box has. The solution needs to be platform independent, and using external libraries or system calls is not allowed.
Does anybody have experience with this? Thanks!
Thanks everyone who participated. I think now it seems like the answer will be "there's no reliable way of doing this." Great discussions guys!

I save the data from USB into the database sqlite3 and I want to create a wave of these datas, I prefer to use C in Linux, maybe another language is also ok. Anyone has an idea?
Thanks.
If you can use C++ then checkout QT, has its open graphics library and supports OpenGL too

Sphere Online Judge has a ton of problems at many difficulty levels. The neat thing is you can submit them after you're done to have the server run the program and tell you if you got the right results or not.

and if i want to access a hard disk which is containing some data and i want to copy that from one sector to another , then is it possible ?
A sector is meaningless without a file system. Surely both your pen drive and the hard disk have one that your operating system supports? Then there's little point to not use fopen() and friends.
