I'm trying to install SQL Server 2008 R2 express on my fresh win 7 ultimate x64 install. Every time the installation starts, it crashes with the following message:

Did anyone had similar problem? how did you solve?
So here are some ideas to try if they help. First, I assume that you're installing the 64bit version of SQL Express? Also, the faulting module is a .NET component, so maybe try repairing .NET 2.0? Finally, I'm not sure this would work, but as a last-ditch effort, you could reboot to safe mode and try the installation from there. I know these are just shots-in-the-dark, but if 300 billion web pages don't have the answer, then maybe some random tests might get lucky.
In my experience SQL express installs tend to crash (well over the past 5 years anyway) when you install direct from the web. I would allways recommend downloading the complete install package, then runing it from a local folder. Everytime the direct web install has crashed for me (probably around a dozen time now accross various versions), downloading the full install and then running it locally has lead to a clean install.

So I have been trying to config the project to make it work on our server via Citrix.
I used this line of code to set the path:
private static pdftron.PDFNetLoader loader = pdftron.PDFNetLoader.Instance().Path(String.Format(#"{0}\{1}",
System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof(IndexUIZoom)).Location), #"PDFNet"));
I got this error every time (bin is where the .exe file is):
INFO Program [(null)] - Path: [bin]\PDFNet -
ERROR Program [(null)] - System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'PDFNet.dll' or one of its dependencies.
The specified module could not be found. File name: 'PDFNet.dll'
Everything works fine on local machine. I got the error above whenever I run from Citrix, or log into the server machine and run from there.
Most likely your server is missing the MS VC++ Runtime dependencies. Developer machines usually have them installed as part of a Visual Studio installation, but servers often do not. You can download MS VC++ installers from MSDN.
To find the exact one you need to download please see section 3.2.1 of the Getting Started Guide for PDFNet .Net below. Note you need to also match the runtime 32 or 64 bitness of your process, for both PDFNet.dll and the MS VC++ runtime.

I am having trouble getting TimescaleDB to work on my windows server 2016 machine with Postgres 10.
I open up a fresh windows server 2016 instance with AWS and I install Postgres using the windows GUI installer. (C:\Postgres).
The installer automatically updates the path to include the bin directory (C:\PostgreSQL\pg10\bin).
I stop postgres.
I run the TimescaleDB windows installer file and it says it's successfully completed.
I update the conf file. (shared_preload_libraries = 'timescaledb').
I restart my computer and start postgres, but postgres never sucessfully starts. The windows event yells at me, saying I 2018-03-29 17:01:35 UTC [952]: [1-1] user=,db=,app=,client= FATAL: could not load library "C:/POSTGR~1/pg10/../pg10/lib/postgresql/timescaledb.dll": The specified module could not be found.
Any idea whats going on?
This may be related to https://github.com/timescale/timescaledb/issues/485#issuecomment-377533298 which is caused by a missing dependency, Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015.
Running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 (upgraded from 8.0) with all updates installed. I'm trying to install SQL Server Management Studio 2012 using SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe. When the setup is initializing, I get this error:
ScenarioEngine.exe - Configuration parser error
-----------------------------------------------
Error parsing C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\config\machine.config
Parser returned error 0xC00CE556
I tried replacing machine.config with machine.config.default but with no success. Google has no more information regarding this, as far as I can see.
Has anybody seen this error before? How do you solve it?
It can be solved by installing dotnet framework 4.0 on your system.
Replacing machine.config with machine.config.default for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions did the trick.
We manage our own VM Windows Server 2008 R2 STD 64 bits which is use as a web server.
APACHE httpd-2.2.22-win32-x86-no_ssl is install on it since the beggining cause this was the only self install file (MSI) that we found on Apache web site.
I now need to install an SSL Certificate. I ran into a couple of forum without getting the exact solution method to my situation.
I use OpenSSL to create our own Self Sign Certificate on purpose of this installation. The issue is where can I find mod_ssl module that is missing ? I have no experience yet (but it's never too late to get a start) with compiling binaries and where can I get some safe binaries for this module if order to continue in configuring this dawn SSL Certificate ? :)
On the same machine i'm also running :
php-5.3.13-Win32-VC9-x86
mysql-5.5.24-winx64
FileZilla_Server-0_9_41
hMailServer
Finally, I just took it (mod_ssl.so) from my dev. server under an WAMP solution. I'd uncomment the ssl_module line into httpd.conf as suppose and all Works fine on my production server with this module.
When installing DNN 04.09.02 upgrade (from DNN 4.8.4) I receive System.IndexOutOfRangeException: PermanentRedirect error and cannot install the upgrade. How do I get around this so I can install the upgrade?
This thread might help you:
It looks like you have to update it manually... steps are described there.
Also check this thread, might be due to AD if AD is used.
I've re-posted the following from the thread provided by kitsune. Source
First try the following in your browser. Replace "www.yourdomain.com" with your domain:
http://www.yourdomain.com/install/install.aspx?mode=install
If that doesn't work (which it didn't for me) then try the following steps (copied from Chris on that thread).
To manually run the SQL portion of the upgrade you'll need to run each upgrade script between your version and 4.9.2. I upgraded from 4.9.0 to 4.9.2 so I performed the following:
On the web server open the directory: \Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider
Determine which files need to be run. Basically, all of the versions after your old version. In my case I needed to run the files 04.09.00.SqlDataProvider, 04.09.01.SqlDataProvider and 04.09.02.SqlDataProvider.
Open the SQL files in a text editor and replace "{databaseOwner}" (usually with "dbo.") and "{objectQualifier}" (usually with "", but sometimes "DNN4" or some other object prefix)
Run those SQL files in version order using SQL Management Studio.
Assuming those scripts ran without an error then the site should be ready to use.
