Getting client application data to enterprise database server - sql-server

I'm looking to use sql server compact edition for an application where users will not always be connected to the internet. Once the users regain an internet connection, I want them to be able to send the data to the enterprise sql server.
I started thinking about this and I don't want to have to loop through a recordset to submit each record one-by-one.
Normally, I would just do something like the following:
insert into table2
select * from table1
Can someone tell me how to proceed or easily send the data from the compact edition to the enterprise edition?

Try merge replication. The synchronization function is built in to the SQL Server and CE functions. You don't have to write code manually to sync rows.

I have two remote databases, Oracle 19c and SQL Server 19. In my redhat linux, I have to read SQL Server table and write it to Oracle.

It said that Oracle Transparent Gateway makes it possible to run a procedure for migrating data from extra database to Oracle in little time.
I can access to Oracle database using terminal and don't have any graphical accesses.
Would you please guide me if Oracle Transparent Gateway is the best way to migrate data from SQL Server to Oracle database, how to install Oracle Transparent Gateway and use it? If not, what is the best way?

One solution would be to work from SQL Developer.

SQL Developer provides a "migration workbench" that supports SQL Server.
The data migration can be done online or offline.
Online causes the table data to be moved by SQL Developer when you have completed the necessary information in the wizard; Offline causes SQL Developer to generate scripts after you have completed the necessary information in the wizard, and you must later run those scripts if you want to move the data. (Online moves are convenient for moving small data sets; offline moves are useful for moving large volumes of data.)

What are my options for accessing an SQL Server database through MS Access front-end while offline

I'm currently working on a project proposal which would require moving multiple Access databases into a new MS SQL Server database. The idea is to keep the front end program as MS Access so that the users are familiar with the process of inputting data and creating reports.
However, things get complicated in that the internet in the areas where the survey will be collected has poor connectivity and will be out from time to time. I had thought of a few ways of solving this issue but all of them are cumbersome:
1) Having a PC with a router that stores the SQL Server database in offline mode and the data entry PCs connect to the PC with the offline database through the router. The PC with the SQL Server database can then backup the db on the server when it has an internet connection.
2) Adding the data to MS Access databases that can then be merged with the SQL Server at specified increments (this would probably cause some issues).
We've done option 1 before for similar projects but never for connecting to an SQL Server database in offline mode. However, it seems feasible.
My question is: Does anyone know of a way of using Access as a front end application for SQL Server and being able to update data during times without internet connectivity? The SQL Server database would automatically assign primary keys, so, duplicate unique values shouldn't be an issue while syncing the data.
Thanks for your help. I've been having a hard time finding an answer on Google and syncing to databases is complicated at the best of times. I'm really just looking for a starting point to see if there are easier ways of accomplishing this.
I would run a the free editon of SQL express on all laptops. So the Access database would be the front end to the local edition of SQL express. SQL express can be a subscriber to the "main" sql database. You thus use SQL replication to sync those local editions of SQL server to the master server. Of course the main SQL server can't be the free edition of SQL server. So to publish the database for replication, you can't use the free edition, but those free editions can certainly be used as subscribers.
This approach would eliminate the need to build or write special software for the Access application. You thus do a traditional migration of the access back end (data tables) to sql server, and then simply run the Access application local with sql express installed on each laptop. You then fire off a sync to the main edition of sql server when such laptops are back at the office.
The other possible would be to adopt and use the net sync framework. This would also allow sync, and would eliminate the need to run sql expess on each machine. I think the least amount of effort is to sync the local editions of sql express with the main editon of SQL server running at the office (but that office edition of SQL server can't be a free edition).

Using Microsoft Sync Framework to synchronize two identical SQL Server 2012 databases using Change Tracking

I'm currently evaluating options for synchronizing two identical databases that will be deployed on two different SQL Server (1) instances. I've started with the Microsoft Sync Framework and if it does not fit my requirements I'll check SQL Replication.
Anyway, long story short, I'm trying to get a basic scenario to work using the Sync Framework but unfortunately all of the examples and tutorials I've seen online use the SQL Provisioning Provider which adds certain tables, stored procedures and triggers to the database - I want to avoid this, obviously.
I read somewhere that the Sync Framework can use SQL Server's built-in Change Tracking features, but this only works when the client is SQL CE (example). But all what I have read so far seems to be out-dated. I couldn't find anything that is relatively recent about the topic. So I was wondering whether the above is still valid or the Sync Framework added support for the built-in Change Tracking with SQL Server 2012 (or 2014).
In case this scenario is still not supported until this day, could someone refer me to an example (or at least some hints) of how I could develop a custom provider to use Change Tracking on both the client and the server?
(1) SQL Edition is not a constraint. Even SQL Server Enterprise Edition is an option.
support for SQL Change Tracking only works for the older SqlCeClientSyncProvider/DBSyncProvider/SyncAgent, in short you can only use to sync SQL Ce with a SQL Server configured for SQL CT.
the newer sync providers do not support SQL CT.
there used to be a sample SQLExpressClientSyncProvider from MS that has been pulled out from the download site due as it has some issues.
Writing a custom sync provider is not easy, if you can go for SQL Replication, that will be an easier route.

Exporting SQL Server Databases for offline use

I have a desktop application (C# .NET 3.5) that uses a SQL server for it's database. I have had a request from the client, however, to make it possible to export the database as it stands, and be able to use it on a laptop without connectivity. They understand that updates to the parent server will not be reflected in these offline clients.
Is there a way I can just save the DataSet's to a binary form and write them to a disk and send those files to the offline clients.
There is an entire line of tools and technologies covering this case, namely the Synch Framework. See Synchronizing Databases. See Getting Started: Client and Server Synchronization for a starting example involving a SQL Server Compact Edition file on the client (.SDF file) that is synchronized with a SQL Server central database. Note that the client won't install anything else other than you application, the SQL Server CE is just a few in-process DLLs that you distribute with your app, nothing nearly as complex as a SQL Express edition on the client.
The good news is that Synch Framework no only allows the client to get their own on-the-go snapshot of the database, it actually allows for changes applied while disconnected to be merged back into the central site.
You could either use Compact Edition (aka. SDF files), or you can save the datasets as XML using the built-in method.
Can't you just take a SQL Server level backup and have them install e.g. SQL Server Express on their laptops and restore the database there?
That way you wouldn't have to do anything special in your app at all - just change the connection string to point to the local SQL Server Express instance, and off you go! No mucking around with serialized data sets and stuff......

You can also check out Sync Services for Sql Server and Compact edition. The benefit of Sync Services is that you don't need a replication server or IIS and you can also sync between compact edition databases. This method involves writing a fair bit more code and is fairly involved, but I'd recommend looking into it as a lightweight service.
You can use Merge Replication. Theres a tutorial here SQL Server Compact 3.5 How-to Tutorials (Number 5).
Certainly replication is possible, as is Sync Services if you're not afraid to get your hands dirty. It depends on the details of what you need:
Sometimes-connected application wanting to have a read-only cache: Sync Services
Sometimes-connected application wanting to have part or full update ability: Sync Services
Remote site with multiple workstations needing read/write access to data: replication if you can get a secure network connection that's stable enough, otherwise look at extending Syn Services to work with SQL Express (or full SQL Server) based on the sample here: Sync using SQL Express
If you just want a SQL CE database and you're working with a SQL 2008 server then the wizard in Visual Studio 2008 SP1 will do all the work for you, you need only add 1 line of code to it if you want bi-directional support. If you can't upgrade then it will take more work with SQL 2005, and it's only reliable if you have at least SP2.
I'm in the middle of a project that requires multiple sites to have a sub-set of data in an environment where each site may lose it's connection to the head office at times, we've managed to get Sync Services to work with SQL 2008 at the head office and SQL Express 2008 at each site with full change tracking (2008 feature) and it's working great. It does require a reasonable amount of code (C# and SQL), so we've used some pretty smart templates to help. Be aware that.
