Take a look at this post. PHP is handled on the server. No browser needs to support it. CSS and XHTML are supported pretty well by mobile browsers. Javascript support is limited.

I am working on a news website, trying to implement amp. We are using Mobile_Detect.php to serve desktop pages to desktop and tablets, and mobile version to mobile phones and that works OK, our pages are mobile friendly according to Google for some time now, no problem.
Now, I started to enter the code for amp pages and encountered a situation I can' resolve. URL for the amp version have .amp at the end. Depending on the user's device, we are generating the page from the database and serving different pages to different devices.
Now, PageSpeed Insights and Mobile-Friendly Test shows that the page is mobile friendly but amp validator is pulling the desktop page, I can see by the source code it prints out, instead of a mobile page. I'm on the desktop, Chrome, but I'd expect it to work with mobile pages.

I installed Chrome amp extension and it says "AMP available" but when I click on it it also pulls the desktop version of the page and it's blank. I would expect the extension to load the mobile page but it doesn't.
We do have links canonical and amphtml, that's why the extension says there is an amp page.
So, how to tell validator to pull the mobile version of the page? The amp implementation is not done yet and I know there are some things missing, but without a validator is a bit hard to program.
Another interesting things is that when I open "Inspect" in Chrome and toggle to responsive design, it shows the mobile version of the webpage correctly. It also says "Powered by amp" and shows no errors although there are errors because we didn't even implemented all tags.
If anybody has any suggestion how to make amp validator to show the mobile page I'd appreciate that. Thank you.
I had a quick look at your pages but it appears that the amphtml reference but there appears to be a problem in the URL you are generating in the href= field. If you take a close look, the AMP URL is missing a '/'.

I'm working on a simple mobile website for a hotel.they don't need much dynamic feature.most are simple HTML.So my question are as below.
I find it's hard to debug mobile website on Ubuntu.cause you know ,desktop browser are to big to show a mobile website.each time i need to put it on a server.then using a phone to test the mobile website.is't too annoy.is there a better way to do this?

In chrome you can emulate a mobile device, the viewport and user agent will adjust to desired device. In your developer tools you have something called Emulation where you can change your device.

FWIW, I would reccomend you start with a resposive framework. There are plenty of great options, including Bootstrap , Foundation or Skeleton
From what you describe about your requirements, responsive is going to be a good fit for your client and you'll future-proof your design.
Then with a responsive design, you can test everything in a standard web browser by making the viewport or window wider or smaller.

Im looking for some guidance on a responsive site design written using Bootstrap 3.
Basically I want the mobile version to be as lightweight as possible and only load JS and HTML that is necessary for the mobile view, and not load assets required for the desktop view. I would like to ignore loading specific JS files when the page is loaded via a mobile device.
Is there a simple method to do this with Bootstrap?
My guess is that I need a Javscript function to detect the device and use that as a trigger, however I was wondering if Bootstrap had this capability that I could use?

I'm busy building a web page where I'm using HtmlEasy and Silken with Google Closure Templates.
With ASP.NET MVC4 there is a technique of serving a mobile version of a web page by changing the file name to .mobile.. So it is not just the same version served up using a different stylesheet - the contents/data too can be different. This is really great since not everything may be relevant for a person using a mobile device.
Does HtmlEasy and Silken provide the same or similar feature? I can't seem to find anything that'll help.
Ok, when you need to detect any mobile device then its better to make use of a database.
For my own project I'm using 51Degrees Lite. Pass the user-agent to the lib and it'll tell you if the device is mobile or not. Then serve your soy template(s) accordingly.

Some websites offer an automatic conversion of your existing website. This converted, mobile friendly website can either be hosted at a new domain, or a "mask" can be applied over your existing site. If it is not converted automatically, you can request for a custom conversion.
It's up to you whether you want to make two different websites for mobile and non-mobile devices. However, if you do so, make sure to have a link from the mobile site to the full site to enable users to switch to it.
Opera Mini does support Javascript which certain restrictions (eg. on asynchronous operations). Be aware that Opera Mini uses a proxy based approach and the JS is executed on Opera's servers which imposes certain restrictions. Plugins like Adobe Flash are not supported.
Basically, Opera Mini supports the same standards as Opera Desktop since they share the same rendering engine (Opera Presto). However, due to device restrictions, some features like CSS rounded corners are not available in Mini. See Opera Mini 5 standards support for more information, but know that meanwhile Opera Mini uses Opera Presto 2.4, the rendering engine used in Opera Desktop 10.53.
For testing websites in Opera Mini, try MicroEmulator which is Open Source and comes with a resizable skin that allows you to emulate different screen sizes.

You should most definitely adapt your output for mobile devices when the content is accessed via a mobile device. Whether you will do it by separating the mobile presentation on a subdomain or a special folder or not is totally irrelevant.
/ 3. Mobile is way more than just Opera Mini. Various mobile device browsers support various degrees of rich content (JavaScript, CSS etc.) You should look into detecting what features are supported by the visitors browser/device and serve the appropriately rich/"poor" content. You should take a look at WURFL and Device Atlas which are two main databases of mobile device useragents which allow you to serve only the content that the useragent can consume.
There are many emulators out there, some better and some worse, that emulate various mobile device browsers. Off the top of my head, the two I've used are Yo Space SmartPhone Emulator (website broken atm) and Mobi TLD's emulator. There are also vendor specific (Nokia, SE) developer tools you should be able to find that emulate the vendor's devices.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are the way to accomplish this. It does mean that you will need to review your site's use of HTML tables, and convert into a CSS based design.
