cakephp how to set base path - cakephp

How do I set the root of the application?
What I mean, is that when I work locally, everything is under the root of my local website (i.e www.in cake.local/).
Now I made an application that will not be at the root of a website (i.e. www.outsite.com/sciences/biology/here_is_my_app).
Is there a way to make absolute URL in my app point to the app directory and not to the root of the website?

Let's say that www.outside.com is pointing to directory www.outside.com/ on Your hosting.
Putting Your app in www.outside.com/sciences/biology/ directory should do the trick.

You can also use the HTML base tag to achieve this, set it to Route::url('/');

Deploying Angular Application to GitPages - Not Routing Properly

Disclaimer: I am not a frontend guy by trade. I am being asked to deploy an Angular application other engineers have created.
I have gone through the process of deploying an Angular application to GitPages and have also tried the handy Angular CLI GH Pages library. However, they both have the same issue, and I'm not sure if it's the application itself or how I am deploying it.
The base page loads fine, but all other resources (image/font files, links to other pages, etc.) do not load properly. This is because they are not using the proper base URL; our corporate GitHub makes us use https://....com/<org>/<repo> as the URL. All resources outside of the base page are not prepending the /<org>/<repo>/ part to the URL, so they are all returning 404s.
My index.html file in docs/ contains the proper base href="/<org>/<repo>/" and the docs/ folder contains all needed images and font files in its assets/ subdirectory, so I'm not sure what gives. I have also copied index.html to 404.html.
Am I missing something? Or is it possible that this web application was not created correctly for GH Pages?
Thanks in advance :-)
Change the base href to index.html only and all will work from there
base href="index.html"
From there it will take the path properly

How to support react js app for 2 different sub domains

I am a bit struggle with support to a react js to support 2 different subdomains. Followings are the subdomains I need my app to support
www-dev.somedomain/apps/myapp
app-dev.somedomain/myapp
As you can see, react-app-path is also changing with the subdomains. I have defined PUBLIC_URL and REACT_APP_PATH in my .env file as below.
REACT_APP_PATH=/myapp
GENERATE_SOURCEMAP=false
PUBLIC_URL=/myapp
With above env vars app-dev... URL is working. If I change to the path to apps/myapp then www subdomain in working. I need a way to support both subdomains at once
How can I achieve this?
Finally, I solved this problem with the following steps; I was using Nginx to be redirected to the same host. The problem I have was with the paths.
www-dev.somedomain/apps/myapp
app-dev.somedomain/myapp
According to my Nginx configurations, both URLs were redirected to / in the server. Then the app couldn't find the static files because paths were different with domains. So to fix this, I did as below.
First, remove PUBLIC_URL from my env file. Then app files will be hosted at the / location
Added homepage attribute to package.json file. adding homepage will serve assets relative to index.html. Read more about homepage. Using `"homepage"` in package.json, without messing up paths for localhost
Since the app is using internal routing, I added simple Nginx rule to rewrite the location of static files as below.
rewrite /static/(.*)$ /static/$1 break;
This solved my problem with supporting two doamins.
No way, Your React app will be compiled into static HTML, JS, and CSS files, and the only time you can pass parameters to the build tool is before building, which is what you're doing right now. Once the building is complete, it can't be changed.
You can write two shell script, with different environment variable. Then invoke each of them will build different web app.

hugo serve content inside .well-known folder

Third party application which I'm trying to integrate, asking to put a file inside a .well-known folder. how can I make that file accessible from URL? (example.com/.well-known/token.txt). site is deployed as a gitlab page. every attempt I tried gives 404 error.
If you put your ".well-known" folder inside the "static" folder it should get deployed to the root of your website as you expect.

cakephp access cs and js files inside webroot folders

I am getting a problem in deploying my app to the server. The problem is i have folders inside the webroot which points to the .css and .js files.
I was doing the basic cakephp function $this->Html->css('bootstrap') when my simple css files were in the css folder but now there are some other folders inside the webroot because of using the plugins for the frontend UI.
For this i have changed my url to like this $this->Html->css('/global/plugin/file')
Problem is on local it is working fine because of virtual host example.com but on live server i have domain like this 192.168.00.00/mysite so it go to the main directory to and link the ip 192.168.00.00 instead of going to 192.168.00.00/mysite.
Is there any good way to solve this and add the flexibility to the url so that my local and live will not be disturbed while i push my code through git?
Just removes '/' from $this->Html->css('/global/plugin/file') to below
<?php
$this->Html->css('global/plugin/file');
$this->Html->script('global/plugin/file'); //example loading file.js
?>
I already had an issue about this one including my JS and CSS inside a folder but when I removed '/' it solve my problem.
Confirm that their is a file.css inside plugin inside webroot\css\global\plugin\file.css windows path or LINUX path /webroot/css/global/plugin/file.css

setting base path in cakephp

I am working on CakePHP, and I have my app working in my localhost. If I try to run my app in another machine, I need to to set the base path.
How to do this? Any suggestions?
You only need to set the path to the cake directory. You can do so in
/path/to/your/app/webroot/index.php
by setting the CAKE_CORE_INCLUDE_PATH
