how to get Apache to reload php.ini in WIndows XP? - xdebug

I'm trying to install XDebug by registering it in php.ini but it isn't working. I'm thinking maybe my apache server is not reloading my changes properly.
-from your friendly PHP noob

Try httpd -k restart
See Using Apache With Microsoft Windows for more help :)

An error occurred during installation: No such plugin: cloudbees-folder (While installing Jenkins suggested plugins getting the error on windows 10)
This work for me:
http://localhost:8080/restart
OR
service jenkins restart on my Ubuntu
For Windows users, restarting the Jenkins service will resolve the issue.
For that Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Sft+Esc) -> Services -> right-click on Jenkins service and choose the option restart
If you are using the Jenkin's image in Docker if you see this error just try to execute the below command:
http://localhost:8080/safeRestart
you will get a prompt do you need to restart don't click on yes just ignore then start creating your jobs by clicking on NEW, it's just a plugin
For the docker version
1-open the browser
2- write your_ip_address:your_docker_port/restart
Note: you must have the password generated by your Jenkins server
if you do have click here
As a comment suggested: always look for official images mentioned here jenkins.io/download.
I faced the same issue when using the docker image jenkins:2.60.3, it turned out that this image isn't an official one, the official images look like jenkins/jenkins:<something>, you can find them here: https://hub.docker.com/r/jenkins/jenkins
If you are behind a firewall (local or through a VPN), there's a good chance that it's failing to download files correctly.
Try installing from another location or disabling the VPN.
Or request your network admin to allow the connections.
When I initially started my server while on a VPN there were two connection failure stack traces.
I am running Jenkins on Ubuntu in AWS.
I had this initial problem after booting up the box.
Ran the following:
sudo service jenkins restart
All working for me now.
Check the Context Path in tomcat for Jenkins that you have given during deployment and then restart/safeRestart from that path.
For example: The Path in the below screenshot is "/jenkins", So the restart URL will be
http://localhost:8080/jenkins/restart OR
http://localhost:8080/jenkins/safeRestart
I just Unchecked all the plugins and clicked on the install button. After that, it successfully takes me to the inside.
Just restart the machine. It successfully worked for me.

You can issue the command flume-ng version on the/any host to get the version.
From Cloudera Manager

installing mod_perl with centos and plesk

I'm trying to install mod_perl on Centos 5.5 with Plesk. Does this already come with mod_perl? I'm not showing anything in the $ENV{MOD_PERL} variable.
I tried installing it via cpan (install mod_perl2) with this:
Please provide a full path to 'apxs' executable
which I don't know. So I skip it and then I am asked:
Please provide the location of the Apache directory:
Searched though I have, I can't seem to find it. No apache folder with ap_release.h.
Where would I find this or is there a better way to install it via plesk?
Thanks,
Jonathan
I was able to get mod_perl2 installed by:
>> yum install perl-devel
>> cpan
>> install YAML
>> install mod_perl2
Then, I configured it thanks to this: http://www.server-world.info/en/note?os=CentOS_6&p=httpd&f=9
I added a new <Directory> for my web site in case there would be a conflict with plesk.
/cgi-bin runs regular perl scripts
/mod-perl runs my scripts using mod_perl2... the $ENV{MOD_PERL} variable does exist here!
#oleg - thanks for your help, a2enmod perl does not work in CentOS
The Perl Support check box in Plesk doesn't seem to have any effect what-so-ever.
Does this already come with mod_perl?
Yes. Check any domain's hosting settings.
also you can check:
rpm -qa | grep perl
and I'm definitely recommend you use Plesk on Centos 6, because most things will be easier.

Problems loading xdebug in wampserver2.0

I have an issue loading xdebug in apache server.
Here are my settings:
Apache 2.2.11
MySQL 5.1.36
PHP 5.2.0
Windows 7
Wampserver 2.0
php -i and php -m show that the xdebug module php_xdebug-2.1.0RC1-5.2-vc6.dll is installed.
However phpinfo() does not show that xdebug is installed. I have tried starting apache as a service, through the Wampserver UI, and by running httpd directly (as administrator) and I have checked permissions on the php_xdebug-2.1.0RC1-5.2-vc6.dll file.
There are no warnings in the logs. In the apache error log I get:
[Thu Jun 24 11:20:55 2010] [notice] Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) PHP/5.2.0 configured -- resuming normal operations
Has anyone any ideas?
Thank you,
John
I already do like you said but nothing happens
Using WAMPSERVER 2.1 , php_xdebug-2.1.0-5.3-vc6.dll (however I renamed it becoming php_xdebug.dll)
In php.ini, I also modified as instructions
extension=php_xdebug.dll
...
zend_extension = "C:/wamp/bin/php/php5.3.3/ext/php_xdebug.dll"
xdebug.remote_enable=1
xdebug.remote_handler=dbgp
xdebug.remote_host=127.0.0.1
xdebug.remote_port=9000
xdebug.idekey="netbeans-xdebug"
After starting the server again, there are no error in Apache log, everything seems work normal.Still do not see any information about xdebug from phpinfo. I totally gave up :(
Any ideas for my case, appreciated that.
I solved my issue as I was using wampserver2.0 and naively assumed I could use c:\wamp\bin\php\php{version#}\php.ini to affect my configuration.
In actual fact one must use c:\wamp\apache\Apache{version#}\bin\php.ini to configure php on the wamp server.
Hope this helps anyone else who might one day tear their hair out over this.

how do i use apache2 server for hosting a website?

I am using ubuntu and I have some html pages. I want to host a website from my PC at my home. How can I do this using apache2? I am new to Apache2 if any one knows how to do this, please let me know.
The easiest way to publish HTML files with apache is by putting them in /home/your-user-name-please-do-replace-me/public_html, making sure that your apache is installed and then start apache. How to make apache start after a reboot, see this forum post on Ubuntu Forums.
When you have apache up and running, find out your servers IP-address (http://whatismyipaddress.com/ is pretty handy for this) and then your files will be accessible from: http://you-ip-address-whatever/~your-user-name-please-do-replace-me
You could always use services like http://www.dyndns.com/ so that you don't have to use your IP-address all the time.
Once apache is installed you should find that you can place content in a directory silimar to /usr/www or /usr/share/www and apache will serve it. You may also need to start apache, I don't know the ubuntu command but on fedora 12 it is:
service httpd start
