I am building a prototype in SketchFlow using a sample data set. When I run the project I can see lists of values no problem but anywhere I have used details mode to display a single record the running project is blank. The data is displayed within Expression Blend (it picks the first record in the set) - the only thing I can think of is that the binding needs to refer to a specific record but I can't see where to set that.
I found the example in this tutorial works fine:
http://blogs.msdn.com/canux/archive/2009/06/29/mini-tutorial-blend-3-visual-data-binding.aspx
Create your sample data source
Click on the 'list' mode button above the data source (in the 'data' tab)
Drag field(s) onto a list view for the list selection
Click the 'details' mode button above the data source (in the 'data' tab)
Drag the other field(s) onto the area where you want to display the details
Voila! it works! Or, at least it works on my box ; )
OK, I found a clunky answer. You can put a linked master control on the page with the relevant default value and then collapse it so it's not visible. Does the job but not particularly elegant.

I'm trying to add an input field along with a drop down in an Angular Bootstrap Dialog box and am just not getting it. When a certain item is selected from the drop down an input field will display where the user will enter in the amount. For now I want to just try passing the value from the input box back from boostrap.dialog.js to postReasonsController.js. The reasons are pulling from one table and the input value will be stored in a separate table along with the selected reason id. This is an inherited project that I did not create so I'm a bit of a newb learning off the side of my desk.
EDIT
I've added sample code to plnkr http://plnkr.co/edit/oJdax2LhlKWxSpRkH0fq?p=preview. In the sample code I ended up using
vm.currentTransaction.ReasonDiscrepencyAmount = document.getElementById('amount').value;
Which works there as well as when running it locally. However, adding the same in my actual code it doesn't work. I'm not sure why it works in my sample code but not in my application.
Can anyone see what the issue is?
I currently have a MS Access database of members.
I have a form that has a combo box which is populated with just the first and last names of members. (using a test database for now)
What im struggling with is how do i create a button that opens another form i have created but using the selection in the dropdown box to populate the fields in the newly opened form.
When a user from the dropdown box is selected an open is clicked i want it to open the profile form populated with their details.
pictures and access files can be found on my ftp server:

I can't access ftp site from work so can't see what you've got thus far however, the key bits you want to look at here are:
Add a button to the form and the On Click Event to open your profile form. Something along the lines of docmd.openform "frmProfile", acNormal
You need something to pass the member you've selected in the combo box to the profile form. One way might be to use OpenArgs so have a look at that
You then could use the passed variable in OpenArgs to select the data you want to fill out your profile form.
EDIT...
OK, I've had a look at the file now. Here is what you need to do to fix your problems (and a couple of extra bits which aren't causing an issue but will improve the look and feel).
On the Format of the Home form and the Member Search form, set Navigation Buttons and Record Selector to false. - This removes the unnecessary elements for a "single" form, you're not looking at records.
On the member search form, remove the binding to the members table. - You don't need to bind this form, as the recordsource of the combo is pulling the data required separately. if you look at your form before you change it, you'll notice you've got 1 of 10 records...
Also, remove the filter criteria and set filter on load to No - You were filtering the wrong form.
On the combo box, remove the after update event. - I'm not sure what that was trying to do but its completely unnecessary.
On the command button, add an onclick event which has the following code DoCmd.OpenForm "Profile", acNormal, , "ID = " & Me.Combo361 & ""
Save everything and enjoy. :)
You weren't far wrong with the filter, but it's actually a WHERE clause when opening another form - sorry, my bad misdirection. What you were doing was filtering the original form - ie the member search form. Also, you don't need to put ' quotes around the ID, it's a number not a string.
If you have problems I can probably host this fixed version somewhere for you to download.
I am new to Windows Form application and trying to build a small application.
I had dragged and dropped a label on the main form.
Then I deleted its text property to empty string basically hiding the label.
Now I would like to move this label to some other location on the form but unable to do so because I cannot find it.
I checked the designer file and its there.
But I cannot find it in the form so that I can grab it and move to a different location.
Please help.
Thanks
Use Document Outline. Look at the following images.
That happens to me several times, and a few weeks ago I found a way to get the empty label like this:
On the tab "Properties" just click on the arrow to show all controls and click on the label you want, this will automatically select the label on your form..
Does anyone explain me how I can use Views Ticker.I loaded modul but no idea how I should use it.please explain me step by step ,I am new on drupal
thank you.I wanna do somethink like this link
enter link description here
Create a "content type" and name it anything in my own case I will name it "news"
To create a content type, navigate to administration->structure->Content type-> add content type
You can add new fields to the content type if you wish. But in my own case I will just use the default settings, since I need only the titles to appear as flash news headlines so click "save"
Next create a new view and name it anything in my own case I will call it "headlines"
To create a new view navigate to administration->structure->views->add new view,
Now setup the new view with the following attribiutes; {View Name = headlines, show = content, of type = news, sort by = Newest First, create a page = uncheck, display format = Views Ticker, of = Titles (Linked)", use a pager = unchecked, create a block = checked} now click save and exit
Next navigate to Blocks and enable the block we just created through the views. Check for the block name "headlines" and specify the location where you will like to place the newly added block and save.
To enable the block navigate to Administration->Structure->Blocks
Now Navigate to view and select the new view we just added. In my own case it is called "headlines" and make sure "Format" is set to View Ticker, you can customize the settings of the View Tick by click settings.
Next add a news content type using the content type we just created. Add a title, a summary and a content. Then hit save
To add a news content type, navigate to Add content
Tip: Add at least two news contents in other to see the full effect of the view ticker
There is "Some" documentation in the readme file. check it out and see if it fits your requirements, http://drupalcode.org/project/views_ticker.git/blob/refs/heads/7.x-2.x:/README.txt
From first glance it seems like a views plugin so you could probably try changing the dispaly in the views settings.
Yes, you need to create a new View that pulls in some kind of content (i.e. Announcements). Under the "Display Format" when creating the View, you'll see an option of "Views Ticker", if you've installed the module correctly.
Based on the example you pointed to, you'll probably want to create a Block at the same time, that you can insert into the desired region.
Once you've created the View, you'll see a link for the Display Format "Settings". This is where you choose whether to make it scroll horizontally, vertically, speed, etc.
Once you updated and saved the view, you should go Admin > Structure > Blocks and insert your newly-made Views Ticker block into one of the regions (regions available will vary based on your Theme).
Then, as long as your permissions are correct, and you have actual content, you should see the scrolling ticker show up on the page(s) where the block shows up.
To use views ticker, it needs you to have an view which outputs some data.
I assume you have such a view. Then go to that view's edit page and set format to views ticker. You should have enabled views ticker module to get that option to formats list.
Then it will show you the settings window, in which you can set settings such as vertically, horizontally, BBC, etc styles for your data movement and respective speed etc.
After you did, click on apply button and then save button top of the view's edit page.
If all goes well it should display moving contents in the page/block related to that view.
Another question for you Filemaker Pro experts. The database I am developing starts with a Main layout with a number of buttons (e.g. insert new item, show all items, etc.). Each button is associated to a script, which takes the user to the relevant layout. In each of these layouts I show the buttons in a row, and highlight the current layout with inverse colour.
My problem is that some of the buttons lead to the same layout, viewed in different modes, and I don't know how to conditionally highlight the right button.
For instance, Insert new item and Show all items take to the same layout, however in the first case the script views the layout as a form and inserts a new record, while in the second I view as a list and show all records. The layout is the same, though, so I'd need to enact a conditional formatting based on something. How do I do that, and what should I check against?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Regards.
Presumably you are currently using the formula: Get (LayoutName) to decide on your conditional formula, why not try additionally using formulas: Get(WindowMode) and Get(LayoutViewState)?
You could conditionally format the button if (which sends user to MyLayout in browse mode):
Get(WindowMode)=0 and Get(LayoutName)="MyLayout"
Or (which sends user to MyLayout in form view):
Get(LayoutViewState)=0 and Get(LayoutName)="MyLayout"
.
Other functions which may help could be Get(FoundCount) and Get(TotalRecordCount). You can see the entire list of Get functions here.
