I am using Eclipse EE, and tomcat for a webwork, extjs, hibernate spring application. For spring and hibernate staff, I have remote application debugging settings configured. So I make debug. But for extjs, I have installed firebugs in firefox browser in my ubuntu machine, but I still do not know how to catch break point to see how to trace javascript code.
In Firebug, go to the script tab. On the top, you can see:
Inspect | all | <filename>
Click on to choose the file that contain the javascript you want to track. Once you have selected your file, click on a line number to put a brea kpoint (a big red dot will appear).
You can put several break points in different files. The break point will not disappear if you refresh the page (F5).
This tutorial should help you as well.
Actually for Sencha EXT JS I would recommend the excellent App Inspector for Sencha as well. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/app-inspector-for-sencha/pbeapidedgdpniokbedbfbaacglkceae

I have a task to make large Silverlight project run out of browser.
Fortunatelly I don't have to rewrite it to some other technology. Unfortunatelly I can not understand how to make it work OOB. I tried everything that's in guides :
enabling OOB option, installing and tryiung to debug installed app, but main thing is that when I run this app OOB I can't reach any services (no matter how I try HTML Bridge is disabled in OOB).
Is there a way to reach those services (like https://localhost/WCFRest/GetUserInfo?login=somelogin&password=somepassword) from OOB enviroment?
What should I do to reach them?
I'm sorry if this is noob quetion but I can't ask anyone else.
I assume you have a Web project in your solution. I think you changed the startup project to the silverlight project. You need to start up the Web project too.
Do the following:
Right click on the solution in the Solution Explorer and select Properties.
Select "Multiple startup projects" and set the action to "Start" (on the web project)
Or just simply right click on a HTML or ASPX file in the web project and select "View in Browser".
I have created one ionic app it runs perfectly fine in browser but when I convert it into app it gives white screen.
I have already install white list plugin and allowed all url in config and also have kept meta tag. Am not able to find any other solution.
When kept simple html file am able to view it.
Any help will be grateful.May be good way to debug will be also good.
Connect your phone to PC with USB cable and remember to keep USB Debugging On. Now, navigate to chrome://inspect. You'll find the device name and click on "inspect". On Console tab, the error list will give you a hint about what is wrong there.
In my case, a custom service was Injected in controller which had been removed at some time as It was not used anywhere.
Ok just answering this question so it will be helpful to all.
Below blog was helpful for me that how I can debug
http://gonehybrid.com/how-to-debug-the-white-screen-of-death-in-your-ionic-app/
And guess what was issue, folder name in app is case sensitive. I was just need to change a folder name as per exact case sensitive path I provide in index file.
Mostly such thing occures because of a javascript error. You say it runs in your browser. Are there some exception in the console?
Not everythings is equal between browser and device, for example plugins. You have to be sure, that all used plugins are installed properly.
If you deploy on android, you can use android monitor to get console output. On ios xcode has already an integrated debugger.
I had this horrible issue because I compiled my Android application with Cordova 6.x and the project worked with CrossWalk plugin. In my case, the solution was uninstalling Crosswalk. If your project has installed that plugin, try to uninstall it and compile your project again.
Its been about a month since I started using AngularJS. I used to write my codes in SublimeText2 but i wanted to use WebStorm since it claimed to be more AngularJS friendly. I wrote a simple Hello World app and tried to run it but i couldn't get any hint of how to do it. I also don't have any knowledge about Node.js.Do i need Node.js to run app on WebStorm? Is Node.js a server? I tried going through tutorials on WebStorm page and also read few articles on Node.js but couldn't understand it. Can anyone explain it in a simple and understandable way?
You can open your HTML+JS application in the selected browser in WebStorm by clicking on the browser icon on the top right corner of the editor tab with index.html file opened (or any other html file you'd like to open in browser).
The same action could be done from the file context menu: Open in - Browser.
WebStorm will automatically start built-in web server for your convenience.
Note that you still can go to your project folder and execute your particular HTML file from there, the same way you would do it with the text editor.
Read more on working with AngularJS in WebStorm in this blog post.
If you have back-end in Node.js for your app, then you, of course, need Node.js installed. To run your node web app you need to create Node.js run configuration. More on it here.
I created a simple form based app using Sencha Touch 2.2.0. According to Sencha's website, Sencha Touch should work on Internet Explorer 10. When I double click on the app.html file using Safari, everything works. The same is true for Google Chrome on Windows. When I try the same with Internet Explorer, only the titles of the fieldset appear and no fields are visible. In other words, the form is unusable. I am able to go to Sencha's website and get the Kitchen sink demo working via Internet Explorer but cannot create a project myself that works.
I tried switching to a Windows theme and the form showed some fields but was still unusable.
I was wondering if there's a trick to get a basic Sencha application working with Internet Explorer. I am using Sencha Architect 2.2.2 for this project as well.
Check the console log. See if there are any errors there. IE and Chrome/Safari have different tolerance level to some "syntax" errors in JS - for example comma before the closing bracket - IE will not tolerate that.
I also remember there were some issues with simple console.log() under IE which is used widely for trace.
Try adding the following to your stylesheet:
.x-form {
background-color: black !important;
}
I recently started to learn about AngularJS and came across WebStorm and the AngularJS plugin by John Lindquist. Started by creating a new project using the angular-seed project and imported to WebStorm using File -> Open Directory. My directory structure looks like this
Now when I try to Debug it I get a 404 error. If I move the file app/index.html to the root folder and adjust all URL's to begin with app then it works fine. Is there a way to keep the default folder structure without moving the index.html to the root folder and also make it work with WebStorm?
I am using WebStorm 6.0.2.
I use WebStorm 7, so there might be some discrepancy in comparison with version 6 that you're using, but the over-all functionality is the same.
Quick solution:
Open the file in the editor and right click in the code to access the context menu. Choose the "Debug" option, which should start a debug session pointing to the current page.
Configuration solution:
WebStorm supports configurations for setting up different debugging scenarios. From the "Run" menu, choose the "Configurations" option. Add a JavaScript debug configuration, and add the URL you want in the designated field within the dialog presented.
Then, when you initialize a debugging session (a general one, not one for a specific page), you're presented a small dialog that allows you to choose a debug configuration.
Maybe there are more options or ways to accomplish the same thing as well, but I've never really given it more thought. I hope this is a working solution for you, but if not there's alway the documentation. If you need further clarification with regard to my answer, just give me a comment.
