Firefox recently blacklisted the plugin that allows xbaps to work in firefox
This is a huge problem for me as one of my companies enterprise products is a web application that makes use of an xbap and must work in firefox.
Does anyone know if there is an update to the blacklisted plugin or if it is possible to overwrite the blacklist and use the plugin anyway?
The Windows Presentation Foundation plugin is no longer blocklisted. Are you sure it's still blocked?
What you need is to place the NPWPF.dll in the Firefox Plugin folder.
That works perfectly.
You can find the NPWPF.dll file in :
[WINDIR]\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\Windows Presentation Foundation

Is there any framework available where I can write single set of test code for both Server browsers as well as Mobile browsers.
eg. test.py runs with Chrome on Android as well as Windows

You can try TestCafe. It's an open source project.
TestCafe allows to run tests on desktop and mobile browsers without any additional installations and plugins.

Also it's easy to setup testing on mobile browsers in a cloud service (like BrowserStack or Saucelabs). For example you can find the "testcafe-browser-provider-saucelabs" plugin on GitHub to run tests on Saucelabs out-of-the box.
Selenium + Appium should be able to cover what you need to be done. To share code however, you'll need use a mobile browser (Chrome or Safari) or have an app that uses webviews that are the same as the browser version.
The Selenium bindings will handle driving the automation for the browsers. By itself, you could test the desktop browser with a normal size screen, as well as a mobile size, and test various browsers as well (Chrome, Firefox, etc).
Appium will allow you to open the browser (or app) on the mobile device or simulator, and if the web view is the same as the browser, the same locator strategies you used with the desktop browsers and Selenium will work with Appium as well (Appium extends the Selenium spec with browser capabilities).
If you code the framework using the Selenium Grid, you can then almost drop replace a remote managed grid setup (via Saucelabs or Browserstack) to run the browsers for you (otherwise you'd need to setup a local grid or run the tests with a local Selenium server set up)

We have build it in our company, since we have a vast diversity of different platforms and browsers to support.
We use combination of Selenium based frameworks on NodeJS
webdriverIO
cucumberJS
appium
... etc.
The main concept we try to follow is JAVA's WORA. To achieve all this you need a good understanding of DSLs, Application driver layer and design patterns (e.g. Strategy).
It is not that hard to put all this together, since Selenium supports pretty much every binding you need. Just pick the language you are most comfortable with and use it.
I have created one ionic app it runs perfectly fine in browser but when I convert it into app it gives white screen.
I have already install white list plugin and allowed all url in config and also have kept meta tag. Am not able to find any other solution.
When kept simple html file am able to view it.

Connect your phone to PC with USB cable and remember to keep USB Debugging On. Now, navigate to chrome://inspect. You'll find the device name and click on "inspect". On Console tab, the error list will give you a hint about what is wrong there.
In my case, a custom service was Injected in controller which had been removed at some time as It was not used anywhere.

And guess what was issue, folder name in app is case sensitive. I was just need to change a folder name as per exact case sensitive path I provide in index file.
Mostly such thing occures because of a javascript error. You say it runs in your browser. Are there some exception in the console?
Not everythings is equal between browser and device, for example plugins. You have to be sure, that all used plugins are installed properly.
If you deploy on android, you can use android monitor to get console output. On ios xcode has already an integrated debugger.
I had this horrible issue because I compiled my Android application with Cordova 6.x and the project worked with CrossWalk plugin. In my case, the solution was uninstalling Crosswalk. If your project has installed that plugin, try to uninstall it and compile your project again.
We have a WPF Clickonce application, whcih is deployed in Server. It is working perfectly in IE. The application started installing on single click. But in Firefox and Chrome, the file was downloaded. How to overcome this? I know there are some plug-ins which will allow this as IE.
But my question is, Can I add these plugins into my application pre-requisites? Or what is the good approach to do that. Is there anyway that I could install the plugins by detecting the browsers before starting the clickonce app? I don't want my end users to do that.
Even if you find a way to embed plugins into ClickOnce-bootstrapper ("pre-requisite") you'll have to tell user to run it explicitly. ClickOnce doesn't support installing of dependencies transparently. You'll have an .exe file which user need to run. Usually VS wizard generates an html page (publish.html) which has client code for detecting missing pre-requisites. But actually it detects only missing .NET.
So you have to write some js-code for detecting missing/installed extensions for each browser you want to support.

In anyway if a user has a link to .application and opens it in the browser then all pre-requisites will be ignored. As actually ClickOnce itself doesn't have such a feature as "pre-requisites" or "dependencies". It's just a helper for generating totally separated setup.exe bootstrapper.

I have a bunch of components that I am calling setValue on, everything is working fine in all browsers except the Android web browser and google chrome for android. Has anyone seen this behavior or knows how to solve it? I don't know where to really begin.
Ok you have to enable Javascipt for the Web View as android disables JS by default due to security reasons

That should so the trick
if your app has secure data you probably don't want 3rd party software running JS in your app

I have been forced to use IE8 in an application which works in Chrome and Firefox but fails often in IE8.
Debugging ExtJS in IE8 is nearly impossible if the problem is in the framework. IE8's developer tools hangs loading ext-all-dev.js
Also you can't get stack trace as in Chrome.
I had to put alert() calls in suspect lines and the whole process is a nightmare.
If you can avoid IE, do it.
Else be VERY VERY patient...
You can use the Developer Tools for your browsers. I don't use IE but I use Chrome's Developer Tools all the time! And yes you can do breakpoints, check values, etc..
