Can Conditional AD access be used to restrict the access to azure portal to disallow users from a certain locations from accessing the portal? - azure-active-directory

I am a developer working for an EU region customer and am based out of India.
now - I don't want my azure portal to be accessible directly from my browser but should be able to access it from an Azure VM provisioned in the EU region.
Can this be achieved using Azure AD conditional access?
Also - If possible - what are different kind of hardening methods that can be used to ensure no data leakage is possible by copying data from this VMA to my local machine ?

Yes, you can use conditional access policies to restrict access to Azure Portal for users from specific locations.
Make sure to acquire at least Azure AD Premium P1 license that supports conditional access feature.
I tried to reproduce the same in my environment and got below results:
Create one named location by selecting your region to exclude it from blocking access like below:
Go to Azure Portal -> Azure Active Directory -> Security -> Conditional Access -> Named locations
You can also create named location by specifying the IP addresses that you want to allow Azure Portal access from like below:
Now create one conditional access policy by following below steps:
Go to Azure Portal -> Azure Active Directory -> Security -> Conditional Access -> Policies -> New Policy
Enter the policy name and include the users/groups on which you want to apply policy on like below:
In "Cloud apps or actions" tab, make sure to select Microsoft Azure Management app like below:
In Conditions tab, include all locations and exclude the location by selecting the named location that you created earlier like below:
In Access controls, Select Block access and create the policy as below:
When users of different locations tried to login to Azure Portal, they will get error like below:

Add user properties to Azure Active Directory for SCIM provisioning (HiBob)

I'm trying to setup a user lifecycle flow that will allow me to create an Azure Active Directory user (Member, not Guest) when an employee is created in our HRIS tool (HiBob). There is a pre-existing integration which is enabled and allows us to get basic information (name, location, etc.).
In the HRIS system we also store some more unique data that I would like to be added to the users AAD profile (maybe an emergency contact for example) that we can then use to provision other applications (like Slack).
My issue is trying to create these custom property fields. I have read about Azure B2C as well as directory schema, custom security extensions and using MS Graph. None of these seem to be totally relevant to my situation.
FYI we are fully cloud, so Azure AD Connect is also not an option.
To store custom data in Azure AD objects such as users you can leverage Azure AD Directory Extensions in tandem with Azure AD Provisioning trough SCIM.

Can I put restriction to access particular group of MS team while app registration in Azure portal under my tenant?

I have registered an app in AAD and as a admin I want to provide permission for user to read or access the data of particular group list not all group available in my MS team account. How can be achieve this any idea?
No. Azure AD app doesn't provide such a feature that scopes Microsoft Graph application permissions to specific Microsoft Teams/Groups.
The client credential flow is used to as an authorization grant typically when the client is acting on its own behalf. When you give Group.Read.All or Files.Read.All or other similar application permissions, it means the client has access to all the files/groups across the entire tenant.
You can achieve this by implement the business logic in your code. For example, providing a configuration file which includes the particular groups'/teams' object ids. And then restrict the access for users to only these groups/teams by checking if the object ids (which users are trying to access) are in the configuration file.

Replace AD with Azure AD

We are using a third-party IT provider that handles our network administration and domain accounts, but as part of moving to a different office and setting up new infrastructure, we are considering dropping that and using Azure Active Directory only.
Researching the topic online seems to indicate that Azure AD is not a complete replacement for on-premises Active Directory, as things like local resource access and group policies outside of Azure would be missing. However, we are moving towards using Azure for most things (file storage, etc), so that should be fine if we still have that functionality there.
Before finalizing the decision to go in that direction, we just need to be certain of a few things:
1) Is there a way to create a new account in Azure AD so that it can be used to login from any machine in the office, without having to create it locally first and then connect the two?
2) Is there a way to sync user data, such as user/desktop files, across any devices the account is used to log into?
3) Is it possible to have an office printer configured in Azure so that it can be used with an Azure AD login, completely independent on any on-premises setup (i.e, not Hybrid Cloud Print, which seems to require an on-premises network/AD to be joined with Azure AD)?
The goal is to be able to log in and work from any internet-connected device, whether in the office or at home, without needing to use a VPN and/or remote desktop, and forego on-premises AD administration.
This is possible as long as the device is joined to Azure AD. Once the device is joined to Azure AD, then newly created cloud-only users can also login to the devices.

Enterprise state roaming should help in this aspect. It might not cover everything you are looking for but the important app-specific data and user settings are synced.

There is no direct solution from Microsoft for pure cloud scenarios. There are few 3rd party services offered for this.

Give storage account access to guest user (External Azure Active Directory)

I am using Redgate Data Platform Studio to transfer data from on-premise SQL Server to Azure-hosted SQL Server. This web-based application has the ability to use an Azure Storage account (for data transfer purpose) simply by logging into my company's ADFS. The web application can successfully see storage accounts inside a subscription (let's call it Subscription A) owned by my ADFS user, when I log in to my company's active directory (via ADFS). Let's call my company's AD Directory A.
I also have subscription B owned by a Microsoft account NOT related to my company's Active Directory. This subscription B is managed by another Azure AD Tenant B, with that Microsoft account as the Service Administrator & Owner. To link the two directories, I used B2B State 3 configuration described here. So in Directory B, my Directory A user shows up as Guest User with the Source=External Azure Active Directory.
For the storage accounts in Directory B, I grant the built-in role "Storage Blob Data Contributor" and "Storage Account Contributor" to the Guest User (source=external AAD Directory A). Therefore, in both Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer as well as in portal.azure.com I can see storage accounts inside Subscription B.
BUT if I log in to the Redgate application using Directory A credential (via my company's ADFS), only storage account inside Subscription A shows up in the Redgate application. I already tried giving the guest user in Directory B the following roles to the user, even at the highest Subscription B level, but no luck:
As Co-Administrator
As Contributor
As Storage Account Contributor
As Storage Blob Data Owner
My question: is this the application's limitation of not being able to access subscription in another directory (B), or is there some configuration either in directory A/B and/or subscription A/B that I need to set?

As per my official document and my understanding you cannot assign your subscription among many directory.
As said on official document "Multiple subscriptions can trust the
same Azure AD directory, but each subscription can only trust a single directory".

will lose their access. Classic subscription administrators

How to secure Azure Active Directory Service Principal?

Is there a way to detect and monitor that a service principal is only being used from a specific set of IP addresses? I do not want to IP restrict my entire directory. I have premium AAD and I think it has features that I might be able to utilized but I cannot do much testing. I’m currently struggling on how to detect if a SP has been jeopardized and how to prevent it.
If you want to use IP as conditions for the user to sign-in, you could use Conditional Access to make it. But the Conditional Access is used for the entire tenant.
