I searched for this but I could only find examples in Laravel and PHP, and I need to know how to do this with Next.js.
All I know is that I can do dynamic routes in Next.js the usual way like this ...
/pages/post/[postId] which will translate to /pages/post/23435 for example, and that way if someone has the URL I could just grab the [postId] with router.query and can show the correct post to the user, easy enough.
But what if I want to show the post name in the URL instead of the id? just like what Udemy does with dashes between the words ...
https://www.udemy.com/course/your-custom-react-component/learn/lecture/
And at the same time if someone has that URL I could still show the correct post to them?
I know I could just do /pages/post/[postName] and show the post name in the URL, but that won't be unique, and won't be able to show the correct post.
How can I do that?
You can to do it with postName as you propose, and then take care that postNames are unique and that each one maps to a postId (that's something you need to deal with on your side; so in your database you would generate a unique slug for each postName)
Another solution would be to show both the name and the id like /pages/post/[postName]/[postId]. You can use several params, check https://nextjs.org/docs/routing/dynamic-routes
I'd like to add a feature of adding a post to my blog-app that is built using React+Redux. Basically, I want a new post to consist of author's name, his text and a picture that you can attach to the post that you're going to create. I tried using input tag with type="file", but it returns a value with encrypted adress. How do I go about getting a picture from someone's device?
I have a page view(1) that filters a content type by diferent field results, one of them is a referenced entity and I'd like to display it's whole content whenever a filter by this referenced field is used.
I've created a block view(2) that displays the referenced entity and tried to use contextual filters to display it only in the results view page when it is used aa a filter but I haven't find the correct way to do this
I've tried to provide a default value for the content id from the url but I the field value responds to target_id, I've also tried to use php with something like: echo ($_GET['field_nameofthefield_target_id']) but it didn't work out
Could anyone help me with this please?
thanks a lot in advance
I am new to pyrocms.
How can I get database values on pages of pyrocms. In website of pyrocms I had created a listing page now I want to display database values from pyro database table.
I got your question, you want to create a listing on your front-end page for some database table values which you want to access through your custom module controller. there are many ways to get these values but the simplest way is to use ajax. you already have Jquery added in pyrocms so you can simply make a call to your controller method in ajax and get your required output as HTML and display it in the div element on your page.
$.ajax({
type:"POST",
url:"admin/your-controller-name/your-method-name",
success:function(html){
$('yourdiv').html(html);
}
})
In your controller create a method which get data from database and print it using echo create some listing table etc what you want.
i think you will get my point. if confuse then get back to me
You need to be more specific as PyroCMS has lots of components and each module (blogs, variables, widgets, file uploads etc.) uses specific tags you insert into the page. You may come across references to 'Lex' - that's the name of the parser used to display them.
Tags documentation
PyroCMS (the Professional edition) also has a feature called "Streams" which allows you to build custom databases and this in turn has it's own series of tags.
I've got a Cake application with a reports query interface, where the admin user can filter the data by various inputs in a form and the results are then displayed on the screen. I am looking for the simplest way to add a button which allows the user to download the results of this same query as CSV.
I'm sure I can create one for myself if I have to, but is there already a way to regenerate any given form based on $this->data? That way, I can just add .csv to the form action and use RequestHandler to choose the right output format.
[here take a look at the following...
instead of finding the data from Db you can simply pass $this->data to it.

Exporting data to CSV the CakePHP way
I guess you have to replicate the function on your controller, one for generating the results on screen and another same function intended for csv, but on the function for csv it must have parameters which are similar to the values of $this->data. Use javascript to redirect on the function for csv.
