I really need help or any kind of explanation about my problem.
I have a project built in Microsoft Visual Studio 2019. Its a ASP.NET MVC Application, and I have another project which enables me to create a database in my ("localDb")/ProjectsV13.
My approach was "Database-First", and created Model.espx automatically, and everything works fine (Used Entity Framework).
But now when I'm done making it, I need to PUBLISH It or HOST it. I don't understand the difference between that 2 terms.
I've been searching for solution for a quite a while, and still no solution.
I need to post in on CPanel.
How can someone use my app online?
How can someone see the same data as me?. Because I use localDb.
For example, I have login page for admin (just want someone to login with username:"Admin" and pw: "admin") and use my app.
I published it using FileSystem and managed to start my app with localhost. But that's not what I need

I have built a small web application with asp.net core 2.0 MVC. In this web application, I did not implement any authentication methods so far.
Right now I have an MSSQL database running in the background and I can add/view/edit/delete users from the database.
I adapted this tutorial and followed it pretty closely. However I also added some functionality like localization and stuff, and everything is running pretty smoothly.
My next goal is to enable authentication and authorization. The authentication part shall be straightforward. The goal is that the application will be running as an intranet solution. This means the authentication method just shall check if the Windows User is existing in the previously mentioned database. I don't want to create a separate login. However, it might be that there is a Windows user in the active directory, which is not part of the database. This User should just be able to see a default error page.
I made quite a huge research and I also tried a lot of different stuff, however, I do absolutely not find any "database first" tutorial for this part or any other documentation which explains what to do.
I actually "just" want to teach the asp.net core 2.0 identity framework that it shall look into my user-table and check if the current windows user is existent and if not to forward him to the error page.
A second step would be to load all the roles which this user is assigned to from the mapping table.
Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.

This is the first website that I am trying to publish to make live and rather lost on how exactly I should go about it. I have a Solution in Visual Studio 2015 that is separated into two projects. My AngularJS front end is in one project and I have a web api back end that communicates with a SQL DB to fill http request from the front end. I have been testing to make sure that everything works by launching from visual studios and setting them to communicate with localhost:. Everything works fine when I do this.
I now want to host this project as an Azure web app. I have tried downloading the publish settings and hitting publish for each of the projects in visual studio. Visual Studio tells me that my solution has been successfully deployed, but when visiting the site, all I get is a "Server Error in '/' Application".
I do not really know how to go about doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The problem is that each time you're publishing your project to Azure it overrides previously deployed project. So if you're deploying you client project last it will override previously deployed API and vise versa.
There are several ways to do achieve what you want.
First is to have two Azure Web Apps, one for client and one for API. But it will lead to cross domain requests.
Or you can do like pre-deploy event on your side before publish which will combine your API and Client in one "project". There are also several ways you can do this. You can reference one project from another and build API and Client proejcts in one folder or have a pre-deploy event which will merge API and Client. Also, keep in mind that you will have to merge your web.config files. Also not the best way.
Or the best one. Just create a several virtual directories in your Azure Web App I would prefer this one.
I want to allow my users to log in with their Twitter accounts.
What do I need to implement this? I want to know all the processes that DNN follows for user authentication.

Best place to learn how to create new authentication provider is to review existing authentication providers. You can download source code from dotnetnuke.codeplex.com.
Here is a link from Joe Brinkman's post which is 2-3 year old but still usefull since nothing has changed much in terms of implementing authentication provider.

The application(JSF+hibernate) is been deployed using the vmc commands as on the cloudfoundry site. able to see the welcome page. postgreSQl service is binded with the application but the application is not able to connect with the database.
And also viewed about the VCAP_SERVICES using java but dont know much about it rather how to create it.
Cloud Foundry uses auto-reconfiguration if you have one service (either MySQL or Postgres) bind to your application. That means you don't need to touch your code at all!

I'd like to write a console or winforms application that will interact with the EPiServer database. Since I don't want to muck about in the deep inards of the database I'd like to use the EPiServer API.
However, all the examples are using the "CommunitySystem.CurrentContext" which is null when running outside the website.
Now, I'm going to transfer a large amount of data from a legacy system to EpiServer Community and I really don't want to do that from a web page but from an application I have a little more control of.
Is there any way I can use the API from outside the web context?
I'm not that familiar with the community model. But... I've had no problems at all running huge imports through a web form (or control). The key (besides having disabled execution and database timeouts) has been to run it through Internet Explorer on the site's server and have the site's domain name mapped to 127.0.0.1 in the HOSTS-file. It can run for hours and hours while logging progress to a table or text-file before sending the response.
My colleague Jarle figured out the last bits and blogged the whole process here So if you want to run the EPiServer API outside of IIS, that's the place to start. Works like a charm!
