Jenkins Xvfb plugin - selecting incorrect -fbdir name - jenkins-plugins

When running a build on a newly installed Jenkins server on centos7 The Xvfb fails with the following:
Xvfb starting$ /bin/Xvfb -displayfd 2 -screen 0 1024x768x8 -fbdir
/var/lib/jenkins/xvfb-272-..fbdir6345857630426455925 FATAL: Cannot run
program "/bin/Xvfb": error=2, No such file or directory
java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory
Compared to our original server, the name of the fmdir is different. I believe it should be in the format /var/lib/jenkins/xvfb-<build no.>-<unique number>.fmdir
How is the -fbdir name being generated and what creates the directory?
This is on Jenkins
2.176.1 with Xvfb plugin 1.1.3 on Centos 7.6.1810

Xvfb starting$ /usr/bin/Xvfb -displayfd 2 -screen 0
1920x1080x24 -fbdir /var/lib/jenkins/xvfb-
214-..fbdir17701667040157463918
How is the -fbdir name being generated?
It's unique & random and the format is
/var/lib/jenkins/xvfb-<build no.>-..fbdir<random unique no.>
what creates the directory?
When job is executed, Jenkins check the Directory in which to find Xvfb executable i.e./usr/bin and it creates it's copy for it's use ( at location where Jenkins is installed i.e./var/lib/jenkins/xvfb-214-..fbdir17701667040157463918) where the memory mapped files containing the framebuffer memory should be created to perform all GUI operations in virtual memory.
-fbdir framebuffer-directory
This option specifies the directory in which the memory mapped files containing the framebuffer memory should be created. This option only exists on machines that have the mmap and msync system calls.

apache flink windows installation

I am trying to install flink on windows running into all sorts of problems . Please help.
Downloading the tar file from net, does not give me windows bat file options. Used the download links at https://flink.apache.org/downloads.html#apache-flink-1111. So i cannot run start-local.bat. Infact i dont even have start-local.sh . I ended up installing cygwin just so i can run start cluster bat
However running the start cluster bat is giving weird issues and exiting immediately.
$ ./start-cluster.sh
Starting cluster.
Starting standalonesession daemon on host DESKTOP**.
Starting taskexecutor daemon on host DESKTOP**.
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

This is an open bug for sometime and is deferred to Flink 1.14 version.

Error: The reference to external elements from the source named 'master.dacpac' could not be resolved

I am building a database dacpac using sqlpackage on a windows machine. The project contains a reference to master.dacpac
I take the move the dacpac to a linux machine (mssql-server-linux docker image) and restore the database.
deploy-database.sh
# publish dacpac using sqlpackage
./sqlpackage/sqlpackage /Action:Publish /sf:"/MyDb.dacpac" /tu:sa /tp:Password1 /tdn:MyDb /tsn:localhost
Error:
No file was supplied for reference master.dacpac; deployment might fail. When package was created, the original referenced file was
located C:$(windows machine path)\MASTER.DACPAC. Initializing
deployment (Failed)
An error occurred during deployment plan generation. Deployment cannot continue. Error SQL0: The reference to external elements from
the source named 'master.dacpac' could not be resolved, because no
such source is loaded. Warning SQL72025: No file was supplied for
reference master.dacpac; deployment might fail. When package was
created, the original referenced file was located C:$(windows machine
path)\MASTER.DACPAC.
An error occurred while adding references. Deployment cannot
continue. The command '/bin/sh -c sh /deploy-database.sh' returned a
non-zero code: 1
I have tried adding master.dacpac to the project directly and also copying it to the docker image but the same error occurs.
How can I restore a dapac in a linux environment that has a reference to master.dacpac?
I had a similar issue, my solution was to rename the dacpac files UPPERCASE, (ex: MASTER.DACPAC) which worked for me, as well as making the directory with the dacpac files the working directory.
I have tried adding master.dacpac to the project directly and also
copying it to the docker image but the same error occurs.
Make sure master.dacpac file is in the current working directory. Since your MyDb.dacpac file exists in the root directory, copy the master.dacpac file there and execute the sqlpackage command in the context of the root directory.
The example below specifies an absolute reference to sqlpackage (in case it's not already in your path) and a relative reference to your user dacpac (although an absolute reference will work too).
cd /
/sqlpackage/sqlpackage /Action:Publish /sf:"MyDb.dacpac" /tu:sa /tp:Password1 /tdn:MyDb /tsn:localhost

Setting up ArangoDB cluster wihout DCOS

I'm working on setting up an ArangoDB cluster in an Ubuntu machine based on these instructions :
https://docs.arangodb.com/3.0/Manual/Deployment/Distributed.html
I keep getting the below error when i execute the first command in the above documentation with sudo. I ensured that all the directories
pointing to in the /etc/arangod.conf file has the required permissions. Please can you let me know if i'm missing something here.
Below is the error i get :
2016-08-23T07:29:52Z [26629] FATAL unable to create database directory: Failed to create directory [agency1] Permission denied
The command passes the database directory on the command line (agency1) and arangodb doesn't seem to have rights to create agency1 in your current working directory.
Either provide a proper working directory on the command line or specify one in the config file.
You need to first change the directory to /var/lib/arangodb3 or whatever data directory you have set and then run the command.

Getiing error message 'Failed Installing JBAS50SVC' whle running service.bat file in Windows 7

I need to run Jboss 7 as service.
Followed these steps :-
Copied my Jboss to C:\Program Files <86>
Downloaded Jboss-native-2.0.10-windows-x64-ssl and copied the contenst of bin catalog to %JBOSS_HOME%/bin
Changes done on service.bat as per link instructions
https://community.jboss.org/message/724488
Changed my dir location to my Jboss bin
and given command service.bat install
C:\Program Files \jboss7>bin>service.bat install
Failed installing JBAS50SVC
Access is Denied.
Service JBoss Application Server 7.1.1 installed.
I'm not able to rectify this problem .
It appears to be windows access issue.
Try the following:
Does the windows ID you are using have Administrator privileges? If no, get a Admin ID else if Yes, proceed to step 2.
Try to do the same but in some other drive (not c: )
UPDATE #1 : OP says he can not see the output of service.bat file
Follow the following steps
Open start menu
Search for "cmd"
Right click "cmd" and run as Administrator
type in following command
cd C:\Program Files \jboss7\bin
Type service.bat and observe the output
On a 2008 Windows Server this occurs because you're not running the command line as an administrator. Those of us who have spent considerable amounts of time on 2003 server, and others before that, keep forgetting that your logged in ADMIN level account does NOT get passed to the command line automatically like with previous versions of Windows.
With any additional errors, past this one, I would keep going back to the service.bat file and looking at the path statements, throughout that file, to ensure that they are all correct to reach what is correct for your installation.
Also, don't forget to create a log folder under standalone (unless you're doing a domain install). Failure to do that will also cause issues as well.

Can't create test file /var/lib/mysql/Daniil-Myasnikovs-MacBook-Pro.lower-test

My environment:
Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.8
MySQL Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.8, for osx10.6 (i386) using readline 5.1
I was using this version until I tried to install MAMP on top of that. After that I have stoped MySQL server, and now I can't start it again. In terminal it writes me back:
110825 17:09:04 [Warning] Can't create test file /var/lib/mysql/Daniil-Myasnikovs-MacBook-Pro.lower-test
110825 17:09:04 [Warning] Can't create test file /var/lib/mysql/Daniil-Myasnikovs-MacBook-Pro.lower-test
mysqld: Can't change dir to '/var/lib/mysql/' (Errcode: 2)
110825 17:09:04 [ERROR] Aborting
110825 17:09:04 [Note] mysqld: Shutdown complete
If you can give me a hand with this, that would be more than helpful, thank you very much.
Have you checked that the directory /var/lib/mysql does actually exist and corresponds to your data directory?
If it does not, then you probably must specify otherwise the datadir parameter under the mysqld section
[mysqld]
datadir=/var/lib/mysql
