I'm trying to find an effective way to update the metadata for my MP4 files that I plan to put on a DLNA server. First thing, I want to have the video files have a cover art.
I'm specifically using 640x360 JPG files to be the cover art.
I might also want to add some other tags, like media type or update the Title. Please let me know what can be done.
If code suggestions are available, please know I have the file name details in a variable %file% to handle things. The JPG has the same name as the source MP4 file, so it's easy enough to get the file type and remove the extension, which is what I've done so far.
My goal is to be able to simply drop the MP4 file on the following batch file and know its filename and full path, the JPG file, and attach it to the orgininal MP4 file. Apparently ffmpeg.exe won't write to the file it pulled from, so I have it go to a temp file and then use MOVE to replace the old file with the fixed file.

This code did not seem to work. It doesn't show up in Windows as the cover art, so I'd say it failed.
Can would do a try, by to change the argument and the position of -map 0 -map 1:0 to immediately after name file input -map 1 -map 0 along command line, so, this work to me...

I want to be able to run a script in a folder that contains different angles of a video for example: 0007A,0007B,0008A,0008B. I was able to create it by writing the group of videos but I have like 300 different pairs of those video files and I would like to automatize it, here the one I created using 4 angles:

As You can see, the loop is created to go back to the question and asks for the next group of video to execute the command with ffmpeg. This time I just would like to include this maybe in a for so each time the for runs gets the pair and then execute the ffmpeg command without asking anything. I have two days thinking on this but maybe I'm looking in a different way.

I have used the program youtube-dl to download a Youtube playlist, i have chosen to download videos and audios separately, i have now a folder full of videos with their corresponding audios that i wish to merge together with ffmpeg.
I need to do this using a batch script but the problem is that youtube-dl added aleatory letters after the original file's title so the videos doesn't have the same name as their corresponding audio, file names looks like this:
First title in the playlist 5J34JG.mp4
First title in the playlist H3826D.webm
Second title in the playlist 3748JD.mp4
Second title in the playlist 6SHJFZ.webm
How to merge these multiple video/audio files using windows batch script and ffmpeg ?
Edit: I forgot to mention that the .webm files are the audio files and that i have multiple files i can't rename them one by one.

The script will 1st make the output directory to save mp4
files so that the output will not become input.
The main for loop will get each mp4 filename. The :mux
label is called with the mp4 filename as an argument.
The variable videofile stores the mp4 filename and
variable name stores just the name without extension.
The last token of name will be the YTID pattern while a
for loop will set the last token to pattern.
The call set will substitute the pattern with "" from the
name. This will give a name that can used with a wildcard to
find the webm filename. A for loop will get the webm
filename.
If the destination does exist and not the output file, then
ffmpeg will mux the 2 files into an output file.
Output file container format is mkv.
Since I was needing to do something similar, I am posting my shorter code to help others out.
This is for in a subfolder

I have a batch file that uses FFMPEG to re-encode movies to h265 to reduce file size. I have a few videos that I previously re-encoded over the past couple of years. I want to skip those and at the moment I just manually move them from subfolders before running my script, but this is getting tedious. I'd like to add a command to my batch file that skips those files automatically. All files that have been re-encoded in the past have h265 appended before the file extension. My batch file looks like this, but it isn't skipping the files with h265 in them:

I found this script in another thread and edited it to make this:

It combines all mp3 files with all jpeg files that share the same filename into a mp4 video with the static image running.
But the problem is - if I want to convert more than one mp3 file using the same image (let's say three mp3s), I have to duplicate the same jpeg image three times!
For example, if I have three Michael Jackson mp3 files:
MJ1.mp3
MJ2.mp3
MJ3.mp3
I would need to create:
MJ1.jpg
MJ2.jpg
MJ3.jpg
But really I only need one image for all three mp3s.
What edits do I need to make to the script combine all mp3s with one jpeg file? Let's say I wanted every mp3 file in the folder to convert with default.jpg. How would I do this?
Invert the loop. Instead of iterating over the images, iterate over the sound files.

i have a folder full of .avi files and i want to use ffmpeg to convert them to .mp4 files. I followed an online tutorial to create a batch file that does just this, here is the code:
"C:\ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe" -y -i %1 -sameq -ar 22050 -vcodec libx264 "C:\videos\Series 1\S01E01.mp4"
This works fine if i just drag and drop the .avi files onto the createmp4.bat file containing the above code. However i want to be a little bit smarter about this and use another batch file that will iterate through the .avi files in the folder and run createmp4.bat on all of them and copy them to the C:\videos\Series 1\ directory.
I would also like to change the name of the files if possible to S01E01.mp4, S01E02.mp4 and so on if possible.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Oh and just in case you hadn't guessed i am fairly clueless about writing batch files!!
