I have used the program youtube-dl to download a Youtube playlist, i have chosen to download videos and audios separately, i have now a folder full of videos with their corresponding audios that i wish to merge together with ffmpeg.
I need to do this using a batch script but the problem is that youtube-dl added aleatory letters after the original file's title so the videos doesn't have the same name as their corresponding audio, file names looks like this:
First title in the playlist 5J34JG.mp4
First title in the playlist H3826D.webm
Second title in the playlist 3748JD.mp4
Second title in the playlist 6SHJFZ.webm
How to merge these multiple video/audio files using windows batch script and ffmpeg ?
Edit: I forgot to mention that the .webm files are the audio files and that i have multiple files i can't rename them one by one.
#echo off
setlocal
set "outdir=muxed"
if not exist "%outdir%" md "%outdir%" || exit /b 1
:: Get each mp4 file and call the label to mux with webm file.
for %%A in (*.mp4) do call :mux "%%~A"
exit /b
:mux
setlocal
set "videofile=%~1"
set "name=%~n1"
:: Last token of the name is the pattern to remove.
for %%A in (%name:-=- %) do set "pattern=-%%~A"
:: Remove the pattern from the name.
call set "name=%%name:%pattern%=%%"
:: Get the webm filename.
for %%A in ("%name%-*.webm") do set "audiofile=%%~A"
:: Mux if webm file exist and output file does not exist.
if exist "%audiofile%" if not exist "%outdir%\%name%.mp4" (
ffmpeg -i "%videofile%" -i "%audiofile%" -c copy "%outdir%\%name%.mkv"
)
exit /b
The script will 1st make the output directory to save mp4
files so that the output will not become input.
The main for loop will get each mp4 filename. The :mux
label is called with the mp4 filename as an argument.
The variable videofile stores the mp4 filename and
variable name stores just the name without extension.
The last token of name will be the YTID pattern while a
for loop will set the last token to pattern.
The call set will substitute the pattern with "" from the
name. This will give a name that can used with a wildcard to
find the webm filename. A for loop will get the webm
filename.
If the destination does exist and not the output file, then
ffmpeg will mux the 2 files into an output file.
Output file container format is mkv.
Since I was needing to do something similar, I am posting my shorter code to help others out.
This is for in a subfolder
FOR /F "tokens=*" %%f IN ('dir /b /s F2M\*.mp4') DO ffmpeg -i "%%~dpnxf" -i "%%~dpnf.m4a" -c:v copy -c:a aac -map 0:v:0 -map 1:a:0 "F2M\%%~nf-clean.mp4"
This is for if you're doing it in the same directory
for %%f in (*.mkv) do ffmpeg -i "%%~dpnxf" -i "%%~dpnf.m4a" -c:v copy -c:a copy -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -shortest "%%~nf-remux.mp4"
This is if ffmpeg is not in the same folder
set ffmpeg=C:\ffmpeg.exe
for %%a in (*.mkv) do "%ffmpeg%" -i "%%~dpnxf" -i "%%~dpnf.m4a" -c:v copy -c:a copy -map 0:0 -map 1:0 -shortest "%%~nf-remux.mp4"

I want to be able to run a script in a folder that contains different angles of a video for example: 0007A,0007B,0008A,0008B. I was able to create it by writing the group of videos but I have like 300 different pairs of those video files and I would like to automatize it, here the one I created using 4 angles:
set n=%1
set i=
set /p savingFolder=Please specify URL of the folder to save the files to:
:loop
set i=%i%!
SET /p groupOfVideos=Please write the group of videos you want me to process:
ffmpeg -i %groupOfVideos%E.avi -i %groupOfVideos%F.avi -i %groupOfVideos%G.avi -i %groupOfVideos%H.avi -filter_complex "[0:v][1:v]hstack=inputs=2[top]; [2:v][3:v]hstack=inputs=2[bottom]; [top][bottom]vstack=inputs=2[v]" -map "[v]" -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p %groupOfVideos%Z.avi
if i == n GOTO end
move /Y %groupOfVideos%Z.avi %savingFolder%
GOTO loop
As You can see, the loop is created to go back to the question and asks for the next group of video to execute the command with ffmpeg. This time I just would like to include this maybe in a for so each time the for runs gets the pair and then execute the ffmpeg command without asking anything. I have two days thinking on this but maybe I'm looking in a different way.

I'm trying to find an effective way to update the metadata for my MP4 files that I plan to put on a DLNA server. First thing, I want to have the video files have a cover art.
I'm specifically using 640x360 JPG files to be the cover art.
I might also want to add some other tags, like media type or update the Title. Please let me know what can be done.
If code suggestions are available, please know I have the file name details in a variable %file% to handle things. The JPG has the same name as the source MP4 file, so it's easy enough to get the file type and remove the extension, which is what I've done so far.
My goal is to be able to simply drop the MP4 file on the following batch file and know its filename and full path, the JPG file, and attach it to the orgininal MP4 file. Apparently ffmpeg.exe won't write to the file it pulled from, so I have it go to a temp file and then use MOVE to replace the old file with the fixed file.
#ECHO OFF
set arg=%1
set file=%arg:~1,-5%
ffmpeg -i "%file%.mp4" -i "%file%.jpg" -acodec copy -vcodec copy -map 0 -map 1:0 "%file%WIP.mp4"
move /Y "%file%WIP.mp4" "%file".mp4"
This code did not seem to work. It doesn't show up in Windows as the cover art, so I'd say it failed.
Can would do a try, by to change the argument and the position of -map 0 -map 1:0 to immediately after name file input -map 1 -map 0 along command line, so, this work to me...
Sorry my limited English.
#echo off & cd "%~dp0" && setlocal enableextensions enabledelayedexpansion
for %%i in (%*) do (
set "_arg=%%i"
set "_file=!_arg:~1,-5!"
if exist "!_file!.mp4" ffmpeg -i "!_file!.mp4" -i "!_file!.jpg"--map 1 -map 0 -acodec copy -vcodec copy "!_file!WIP.mp4" && move /Y "!_file!WIP.mp4" "!_file!".mp4"

I have started a huge video project which I am trying to automate. So far, I made good progress, but now I am stuck. I have searched in Google and here, in Stack OverFlow for answers, but can’t find the solution to my problem.
For completion I will explain my full project.
First step of my project is to convert all of my files to *.mp4 and in the same run burn my logo and website in the video. I do this with this code:
for %%a in ("*.*") do ffmpeg -i "%%a" -i "C:\Users\PC03\Desktop\Video test\Overlay.png" -filter_complex "[0:v][1:v] overlay" -c:v libx264 -preset medium -crf 23 -c:a aac -b:a 128k "newfiles\%%~na.mp4"
pause
After that, I will place all the video files in their relevant subfolder. This way I have almost a hundred subfolders, with 2 or 3 files in them. Per submap I want a video with an intro (not in the submap) the video’s in the submap, and an outro (not in the submap).
I can do the above with this code:
ffmpeg -f concat -i intro.mp4 -i mylist.txt -outro.png -c copy total.mp4
To automate everything, I have this code to make a mylist.txt file per subfolder:
>output.txt (
echo C:\Users\PC03\Desktop\Video test\vast\intro.mp4
(for %%i in (*.mp4) do #echo file '%%i')
echo C:\Users\PC03\Desktop\Video test\vast\outro.mp4
)
Now the only thing which I have to do is automate the following code:
ffmpeg -f concat -i intro.mp4 -i mylist.txt -outro.png -c copy total.mp4
to go through all the subfolders.
I have made this code:
FOR /R "C:\Users\PC03\Desktop\Video test" %%F IN (.) DO (
> %%F\output.txt (
echo "C:\Users\PC03\Desktop\Video test\vast\intro.mp4"
(for %%i in (*.mp4) do (
#echo file '%%i'
))
echo "C:\Users\PC03\Desktop\Video test\vast\outro.mp4"
)
)
This codes provides me with a mylist.txt file in every subfolder, but the content is not what I want. It takes the content of the parentmap instead of the subfolders. I have a strong feeling that somewhere in this code I have to make another FOR /R but I can’t make it work.
Does someone have a suggestion on how to do this?
The FOR /R will iterate the folders but you try to iterate the *.mp4 files without referring to the currently processed (sub)folder.
#Echo off
Set "Base=C:\Users\PC03\Desktop\Video test"
Set "Ext=*.mp4"
FOR /R "%Base%" %%F IN (.) DO (
PushD "%%F"
if exist "%Ext%" (
> "%%~fF\output.txt" (
echo "%Base%\vast\intro.mp4"
For %%I in (%Ext%) do #echo file '%%~fI'
echo "%Base%\vast\outro.mp4"
)
Echo created "%%~fF\output.txt"
)
PopD

I have a batch file that uses FFMPEG to re-encode movies to h265 to reduce file size. I have a few videos that I previously re-encoded over the past couple of years. I want to skip those and at the moment I just manually move them from subfolders before running my script, but this is getting tedious. I'd like to add a command to my batch file that skips those files automatically. All files that have been re-encoded in the past have h265 appended before the file extension. My batch file looks like this, but it isn't skipping the files with h265 in them:
for %%a in ("*.*") do findstr /v /c:"h265" "%%a" >nul && \
ffmpeg -i "%%a" -c:v libx265 -preset ultrafast \
-x265-params [parameters] -c:a copy "%%~na.h265.mp4"
pause
What do I need to change to get this to work?
I found this script in another thread and edited it to make this:
#echo off
for %%F in (*.jpg) do (
if exist "%%~nF.mp3" (
ffmpeg -loop 1 -i "%%~nF.jpg" -i "%%~nF.mp3" -acodec libvo_aacenc -vcodec mpeg4 -shortest "%%~nF.mp4"
)
)
It combines all mp3 files with all jpeg files that share the same filename into a mp4 video with the static image running.
But the problem is - if I want to convert more than one mp3 file using the same image (let's say three mp3s), I have to duplicate the same jpeg image three times!
For example, if I have three Michael Jackson mp3 files:
MJ1.mp3
MJ2.mp3
MJ3.mp3
I would need to create:
MJ1.jpg
MJ2.jpg
MJ3.jpg
But really I only need one image for all three mp3s.
What edits do I need to make to the script combine all mp3s with one jpeg file? Let's say I wanted every mp3 file in the folder to convert with default.jpg. How would I do this?
Invert the loop. Instead of iterating over the images, iterate over the sound files.
#echo off
for %%F in (*.mp3) do (
ffmpeg -loop 1 -i "default.jpg" -i "%%~nxF" -acodec libvo_aacenc -vcodec mpeg4 -shortest "%%~nF.mp4"
)
