active directory users functionality disappeared after windows 10 anniversary update - active-directory

After windows 10 anniversary update and windows 10 creators update
the active directory users and computers functionality disappeared
and there was no way to re-activate it.
Downloading and re-installing WindowsTH-RSAT_WS_1709-x64.msu had no effect.

I solved this by uninstalling KB2693643 and then installing WindowsTH-RSAT_WS_1709-x64.msu again:
Control panel, Programs, see installed updates, select KB2693643, uninstall
download RSAT_WS_1709-x64.msu from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=45520
run RSAT_WS_1709-x64.msu, agree to install KB2693643, accept license, restart computer
P.S. Hope this may help somebody. Of course use x32 version if you have no x64 computer

Problem reinstalling Advanced Rest Client

today I saw 2 different versions of ARC in my "Programs and features" Windows 10 list, so I choosed to uninstall the older one because I needed a bit of space. At the end of the uninstall, both of them where disappeared!
So, I downloaded the new version from https://install.advancedrestclient.com/, run as Admin and approved changes to S.O., the program started the installation but stucked at 1/3 of it. I waited for a few minutes, then closed it. Every time I try launching it, it stucks at about 1/3 of the installation.
I've tried searching for registry keys, and simply restarting the PC, with no luck.
Please help me if you can, because I really need that prog.
Thanks in advance
Had the same problem. Uninstall from program files didn't work for me either. I used ccleaner to remove then reinstall. Ccleaner will find appropriate registries.
In addition to using CCleaner, as suggested by Ray above, I had to do the following:
1) In the classic "Programs and Features" list (Control Panel style) of Windows 10, I chose Uninstall, upon which Windows 10 said it cannot find the program and asked if I want to remove the program from the list. I answered Yes.
2) Manually delete the folders "Advanced Rest Client" and "advanced-rest-client" (I had both) from %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming and from %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local (had only one of them).
After that, a fresh installation with the newest arc-setup.exe (version 15.0.5) worked.

Launch PostgreSQL GUI

I have installed PostgreSQL v9.6 on Windows 7 using my user (PC-Admin), the problem is when I start Pgadmin4.exe the application shows that it is starting then freeze without showing the GUI , taking the following notes into consideration:
it is working fine for other users on the PC even if not in admin group.
I tried to uninstall it , delete registry folders for local machine & local user and also delete the temp folder and Apps roaming , also the folder of the program in c:/ drive and then re-install it again and problem has not been solved.
I believe that something went wrong during first time installation for my user
but I could not figure it out.
Please help me, what to do in order to clear my installation profile and then having the GUI launched after short while from starting the Pgadmin4.exe
Regards
Solved and GUI started ! just by disconnecting PC from internet before opening the application.
pgAdmin4 hosts desktop application on 127.0.0.1:(Random_Port) when started, So if you have proxy setup then upgrade to pgAdmin4 version1.6, It has resolved the this proxy related issue. (Link)

Is there an offline MinGW installer?

I am learning C and I want to install MinGW on my laptop. The MinGW installer is a web-installer, it requires the computer to have access to the internet when installing. But the problem is that my computer's not connected to the internet. So it can't be installed.
So I am thinking of downloading the complete offline installer on my smart-phone and transfering it to my PC through blue-tooth.
I have already tried TDM-GCC, but even that requires me to download somthing.
So is there an offline installer to MinGW? If yes where can I get it?
I did not find an offline installer for MinGW,but instead I found a better Windows port; which is MinGW-W64
From http://mingw-w64.yaxm.org/doku.php:
Mingw-w64 is an advancement of the original mingw.org project, created to support the GCC compiler on Windows systems. It has forked it in 2007 in order to provide support for 64 bits and new APIs. It has since then gained widespread use and distribution.
Now to answer this question: it has to be mannually installed by downloading the zip file. It won't require additional download.
You can download it from link : https://github.com/jonasstrandstedt/MinGW
You need to extract the MinGW folder in C:\ eg: c:\MinGW . Then what you need to follow the steps given in the link above. In CodeBlock IDE go to settings>compiler>Tochain Executables. There you need to click on auto detect or specify the folder manually.
The most direct answer to the question "Is there an offline MinGW installer?" is "maybe, but it would be a snapshot from the past, and it's almost certainly not up-to-date with the latest available released versions." The individual packages are made available (almost) as soon as they're released, so capturing everything in a self-contained installer is a moving target.
But, you can use the standard installer offline with a bit of prep work if you use MSYS2's pacman, which manages dependencies and grabs all the right versions for you.
The details are given in an answer to another question (https://stackoverflow.com/a/46791235/).

Error installing SAP mobile platform SDK 3.0

I am trying to install SAP Mobile Platform SMP 3.0 and i got the following error
i searched and found out that the cause could be my 32-bit running windows. is is the reason ? and how can i solve it using a workaround or something ?
Have you gone through the Sybase documentation on SMP3.0 SDK?
http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01996.0301/doc/html/title.html
There are some restrictions on installing SMP components for 32-bit systems. Check the Product Availability Matrix on 'Mobile' (SAP S-number required) : https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/sap/support/pam
According to official SMP 3.0 installation link,
If User Account Control (UAC) is present in the version of Windows
where you are installing, disable it. Restart the system for this
change to take effect. Access the Control Panel option that manages
User Account Control on your version of Windows. Set the user account
to never be notified about changes to your computer. Reenable UAC
after completing this installation.
So try disabling the UAC before installation (assuming you are logged in as administrator for this installation)

Helicon Ape build 0098: "Access to the path is denied" when enabling licenses

I just upgraded Helicon Ape to the latest build 0098. Then I opened the Helicon Ape Manager, went to "Help" -> "License Manager", selected one of my sites and chose "Enable free license". This message came up: "Access to the path is denied".
I made sure that I had free licenses available before I tried to enable it on that specific site. I also granted rights to "Everyone" in the security-settings of the website folder. It is also possible to explore the website folder in the Helicon Ape Manager.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem or have any idea what this could be?
Did you install Full or Free version?
What is your Windows version?
And why don't we continue looking into the problem on Helicon Tech helpdesk: http://support.helicontech.com/helpdesk/
In my case it just stopped working after a windows update. I upgraded to version 3.1.0.105 and followed the troubleshooting steps. I had to add read & list folder permissions for my IIS_USERS group to the Helicon folder in program files(x86).
This still didn't fix it. So I played with a few settings and at some-point in the process I removed .Net Framework v2.0xxxx from the app pool configuration (set it to No Managed Code.) After trying the debugger and everything else I could think of I decided to start over.
I uninstalled helicon. Reinstalled it from scratch. I re-added the IIS_USERS permissions to the Helicon application folder in Program Files (x86). And it still didn't work. Then I re-routed the application pool through .net and sure enough everything worked... which makes sense since APE is a .net application and uses .net hooks into iis.
Anyway, after doing all of that it is now working for me.
