I've tried to find where Option Set descriptions are stored in CRM's database. After research on the internet I've found that Option Set data is stored in the StringMap SQL table but this table doesn't contain description Field I want.
Does anyone know where Option Set descriptions are stored stored in CRM's SQL database? Below is a screenshot highlighting the field value I'm looking for:
Try this:
SELECT Label FROM [LocalizedLabelView] llv
join [AttributePicklistValueView] apvv on llv.ObjectId = apvv.AttributePicklistValueId
join [OptionSetView] osw on apvv.OptionSetId = osw.OptionSetId
join [AttributeView] aw on osw.OptionSetId = aw.OptionSetId
where aw.Name = 'fieldname' and llv.ObjectColumnName = 'Description'
This works for both global and non-global option sets, you just have to put as fieldname the name of the attribute on the entity (not a name of global option set). Of course to handle only global option sets you will not need the last join, simply do osw.Name = 'globaloptionsetname'
This seems to work:
SELECT DISTINCT l.Label
FROM MetadataSchema.LocalizedLabel l
LEFT JOIN MetadataSchema.AttributePicklistValue ap ON l.ObjectId = ap.AttributePicklistValueId
LEFT JOIN MetadataSchema.OptionSet os ON os.OptionSetId = ap.OptionSetId
WHERE l.ObjectColumnName = 'Description' AND os.Name = '<OPTIONSET_NAME>' AND ap.Value = <OPTIONSET_VALUE>
There are two parameters in the above script that you need to modify:
<OPTIONSET_NAME> must be replaced with the schema name of your optionset and prefixed with the entity's schema name. For example, if your optionset is called new_businessTypes and it's on the account entity, then <OPTIONSET_NAME> would be replaced with 'account_new_businesstypes'.
<OPTIONSET_VALUE> must be replaced with the integer value of the option you're looking for. In your example screenshot, that value is 2.

I have 2 tables, one is called
INTER and the other one is called COM
The relationship between them is 1:many
Here's the structure of both tables
INTER
NUMBER
ADDRESS
COM
NUMBER
CONTACT
REFERENCE
To give some context about the tables:
The ADDRESS field from the INTER table can be empty (empty string '')
The CONTACT field of the COM table can be of two types: "E-mail" or "Website"
What I'm trying to accomplish is the following:
I want to look at all the records from COM where CONTACT='Website' and insert into COM the values of (INTER.NUMBER,'Website',INTER.ADDRESS)
where INTER.ADDRESS<>'' and INTER.NUMBER does not exist in COM.NUMBER
Otherwise, I want to update the value of COM.REFERENCE, set it to INTER.ADDRESS where COM.CONTACT='Website' and INTER.NUMBER exists in COM.NUMBER and INTER.ADDRESS<>''
How can I accomplish this? I know what the merge statement is but according to the documentation merge does not work well on filtered queries. Also, I know about the exists statement but I don't know how to make this query work.
In case you're wondering, unfortunately, the structure of these tables cannot be modified.
Some sample data:
INTER
ABCD123,google.com
XUEH342,facebook.com
IISI521,twitter.com
IEIEK885,''
COM
ABCD123, Website, test.com
ABCD123,E-mail,bob#gmail.com
XUEH342,Website,facebook.com
XASE456,Website, stackoverflow.com
XASE456,E-mail,tom#gmail.com
After running the query, the results on COM table would look as the following:
ABCD123,Website, google.com
ABCD123,E-mail,bob#gmail.com
XUEH342,Website, facebook.com
IISI521,Website, twitter.com
XASE456,Website, stackoverflow.com
XASE456,E-mail,tom#gmail.com
As you can see, IISI521,twitter.com got inserted,ABCD123,test.com got updated and IEIEK885,'' didn't get inserted because is an empty string.
You can try below query:
MERGE com with (HOLDLOCK) AS cm
USING (SELECT a.number, a.address, b.contact FROM inter a left join com b on a.number = b.number and b.contact = 'website' WHERE a.address != '' ) AS intr
ON cm.number = intr.number and cm.contact = intr.contact
WHEN MATCHED THEN
UPDATE
SET cm.reference = intr.address
WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN
INSERT
(
number,
contact,
reference
)
VALUES
(
intr.number,
'website',
intr.address
);
I'm trying to pass a string parameter obtained by another query to another query in the same dashboard but when I use the parameter no results was selected. What is the proper syntax or where is the problem.
I'm beginner in pentaho biserver-CE. I use version 6.1. with JDBC connection to SQL Server 2016 SP1.
Now I'm making a sales dashboard from invoices and i want to make a dynamic filter by the time units (which works fine) and by the country shortcuts (which didn't work). If i pass shortcut of some country directly with quotes it works fine but when I replace it by the parameter it doesn't select nothing (Also in CDA preview). When I made some reports in Jasper i used exclamation inside of the parameter to pass quoted value but here I didn't find anything like this for Pentaho.
select top 10
invrow.item as ITEM,
invrow.agent as AGENT,
sum(invrow.qt) as MEASURE,
sum(invrow.val) as VALUE
from invrow
left join invhead on invrow.type = invhead.type
and invrow.nr = invhead.nr
left join art on invrow.item = art.item
where left(invhead.date,4) = ${year}
and invhead.country like ${Country}
group by invrow.item, invrow.agent, invhead.country
order by MEASURE DESC
parameter ${Country} was acquired by another query by the same field. There is a query to gain the parameter:
select distinct
invhead.country
from
invhead
where
left(invhead.date,4) = ${year}
The original query shows nothing but when I Replace parameter ${Country} by for example 'UK' like this.
It works fine:
select top 10
invrow.item as ITEM,
invrow.agent as AGENT,
sum(invrow.qt) as MEASURE,
sum(invrow.val) as VALUE
from invrow
left join invhead on invrow.type = invhead.type
and invrow.nr = invhead.nr
left join art on invrow.item = art.item
where left(invhead.date,4) = ${year}
and invhead.country like 'UK'
group by invrow.item, invrow.agent, invhead.country
order by MEASURE DESC
Now when I use parameter I have nothing in the select list but there are rows, which should be selected.
The syntax is correct, but that way of passing parameters only works for single valued parameters.
To pass an array of parameters, as you seem to be trying, you need to pass the parameter as right hand side of a in operator,
(...)
and invhead.country in ( ${Country} )
(...)
and set the parameter to be of type StringArray.
I'm creating an Excel report, which other users beside myself could manage.
At the moment I'm struggling with creating the parameters in MS Query, so that they would get the input from a cell in Excel.
Everytime I try to paste my code, where I have changed the original dates with the "question marks" I get the following error.
"Parameters are not allowed in queries that can't be displayed grpahically."
I have tried to create parameters for very simple queries. Like
select *
From dmbase.test
where ID = ?
And there the parameters work, I could add even 10 or more and it would still work.
In addition I have tried to paste the code as it is in SSMS and then later through Data-Properties->Query Properties ->Definitions to change the code and add parameters to the "Command Text" box, but Excel just gives an error.
Also tried to declare variables for my parameters, but that didn't work as well. Gave an error regarding symbols.
declare Parameter1 date(10)
set Parameter1 = ?
declare Parameter2 date(10)
set Parameter2 = ?
I'm not 100% sure that the joins are to blame, but that's my feeling.
My code can be seen below.
select
loc.LocationLang
,loc.DistrictLang
,loc.InventoryRegionLang
,cod.ContractNumber
,cus.CustomerLang
,cus.InternalCustomerType
,cus.CustomerGroupCode
,cus.Organizationalcode
,css.CustomerSubSegmentLang
,loc.AnalysisRegionLang
,dht.ContractHeaderTypeLang
,cod.RentalOutDate
from
dmbase.fContractOpenDetail as cod
left join dmbase.dLocation as loc
on cod.LocationID = loc.LocationID
left join dmbase.dCustomer as cus
on cod.CustomerID = cus.CustomerID
left join dmbase.dCustomerSubSegment as css
on cus.CustomerSubsegmentID = css.CustomerSubSegmentID
left join dmbase.dContractHeaderType as dht
on cod.ContractHeaderTypeAMID = dht.ContractHeaderTypeAMID
where
cod.CompanyID = '6'
and cod.RentalOutDate between ? and ?
and left(loc.LocationLang,4) = '7201'
order by cod.ContractNumber
I would appreciate if you could say, how I could put parameters in so that I would not get the error of "Parameters are not allowed...".
Good day. I would like to know why a Parameter Request pops up when executing a query. I have a form with 2 comboboxes where the 2nd one depends on the value in the 1st one. I do know how to do this when it involves 2 tables. I am having trouble when there is a many to many relationship.
Table 1: name - Supply_Sources, fields - Source_ID(pk), SupplySourceName
Table 2: name - Warehouse_Locations, fields - WLocation_ID(pk), Location_Name
Table 3 (junction): name - SupplySource_WarehouseLocation, fields - Supply_Source_ID(pk), Location_In_ID(pk)
On my form frmInventoryReceivedInput I have cboSupplySource and cboWLocation.
I populate cboSupplySource with
SELECT [Supply_Sources].[Source_ID], [Supply_Sources].[SupplySourceName] FROM Supply_Sources;
I am trying to get a drop down list in the cboWLocation based on the value in cboSupplySource. I am wanting to see the location names of where the supplies are placed in the warehouse.
I have a requery in cboSupplySource After Update (with cboWLocation as the control name). The SQL that I have come up with so far is:
SELECT Warehouse_Locations.Location_Name,
SupplySource_WarehouseLocation.Supply_Source_ID,
SupplySource_WarehouseLocation.Location_In_ID
FROM Warehouse_Locations RIGHT JOIN (Supply_Sources LEFT JOIN
SupplySource_WarehouseLocation ON Supply_Sources.Source_ID =
SupplySource_WarehouseLocation.Supply_Source_ID) ON
Warehouse_Locations.WLocation_ID =
SupplySource_WarehouseLocation.Location_In_ID
WHERE (((Warehouse_Locations.Location_Name)=[frmInventoryReceivedInput].[cboSupplySource]));
When it runs, on tabbing out of cboSupplySource, Enter Parameter Value dialogue box pops up, looking for frmInventoryReceivedInput.cboSupplySource input. Nothing I input brings up the correct list in cboWLocation.
Obviously, I do not have the correct select statement. Any help would be appreciated.
For cboWLocation try the recordSource query:
SELECT Warehouse_Locations.Location_Name
FROM Warehouse_Locations INNER JOIN (Supply_Sources INNER JOIN
SupplySource_WarehouseLocation ON Supply_Sources.Source_ID =
SupplySource_WarehouseLocation.Supply_Source_ID) ON
Warehouse_Locations.WLocation_ID =
SupplySource_WarehouseLocation.Location_In_ID
WHERE ((Supply_Sources.SupplySourceName)=([Forms]![frmInventoryReceivedInput].[cboSupplySource]))
Be aware, that the combobox columns have to be set to columncount 1 in this case with appropriate column width, because you said you only want to see the location names. Further, you should be sure that cboWLocation is not bound to a Control Source, to not overwrite anything.
You can apply it in VBA at the cboWLocation Enter Event.
In the following code example, the combobox cboWLocation is only updated, if there is a value in combobox cboSupplySource.
Private Sub cboWLocation_Enter()
If not (isNull(Me!cboSupplySource) Or Me!cboSupplySource.ListIndex = -1) then
Me.cboWLocation.RowSource = strSQL 'Put here the previous mentioned SQLString
End if
End Sub
HINT: It would be better for performance, when you change the bound column in cboSupplySource to the PK SourceID instead of the name. (With two columns in combobox cboSupplySource) Then use this PK to compare in your WHERE statement instead of the name. this is what keys in tables are for.
Edit: In the WHERE statement, maybe you have to put the namecomparison between ' ' because it is a string
SQL - How can I return a value from a different table base on a parameter
First time poster, long time reader:
I am using a custom Excel function that allows be to pass parameters and build a SQL string that returns a value. This is working fine. However, I would like to choose among various tables based on the parameters that are passed.
At the moment I have two working functions with SQL statements look like this:
_______FUNCTION ONE________
<SQLText>
SELECT PRODDTA.TABLE1.T1DESC as DESCRIPTION
FROM PRODDTA.TABLE1
WHERE PRODDTA.TABLE1.T1KEY = '&PARM02'</SQLText>
_______FUNCTION TWO________
<SQLText>
SELECT PRODDTA.TABLE2.T2DESC as DESCRIPTION
FROM PRODDTA.TABLE2
WHERE PRODDTA.TABLE2.T2KEY = '&PARM02'</SQLText>
So I am using IF logic in Excel to check the first parameter and decide which function to use.
It would be much better if I could do a single SQL statement that could pick the right table based on the 1st parameter. Logically something like this:
_______FUNCTIONS COMBINED________
IF '&PARM02' = “A” THEN
SELECT PRODDTA.TABLE1.T1DESC as DESCRIPTION
FROM PRODDTA.TABLE1
WHERE PRODDTA.TABLE1.T1KEY = '&PARM02'
ELSE IF '&PARM02' = “B” THEN
SELECT PRODDTA.TABLE2.T2DESC as DESCRIPTION
FROM PRODDTA.TABLE2
WHERE PRODDTA.TABLE2.T2KEY = '&PARM02'
ELSE
DESCRIPTION = “”
Based on another post Querying different table based on a parameter I tried this exact syntax with no success
<SQLText>
IF'&PARM02'= "A"
BEGIN
SELECT PRODDTA.F0101.ABALPH as DESCRIPTION
FROM PRODDTA.F0101
WHERE PRODDTA.F0101.ABAN8 = '&PARM02'
END ELSE
BEGIN
SELECT PRODDTA.F4801.WADL01 as DESCRIPTION
FROM PRODDTA.F4801
WHERE PRODDTA.F4801.WADOCO = '&PARM02'
END</SQLText>
You could try using a JOIN statement.

Here is a fiddle showing two tables.
The following code snip will give you the values from both tables, using the Key as the matching logic.
SELECT Table1.description, Table1.key, Table2.description
from Table1
Join Table2 on Table1.key = Table2.key
Here's one way to do it. If PARM03='Use Table1' then the top half of the union will return records and vice versa. This won't necessarily product good performance though. You should consider why you are storing data in this way. It looks like you are partitioning data across different tables which is a bad idea.
SELECT PRODDTA.TABLE1.T1DESC as DESCRIPTION
FROM PRODDTA.TABLE1
WHERE PRODDTA.TABLE1.T1KEY = '&PARM02'
AND &PARM03='Use Table1'
UNION ALL
SELECT PRODDTA.TABLE2.T2DESC as DESCRIPTION
FROM PRODDTA.TABLE2
WHERE PRODDTA.TABLE2.T2KEY = '&PARM02'</SQLText>
AND &PARM03='Use Table2'
