Allow customer to edit angular / express / mongo - MEAN stack content - angularjs

I've recently switched from developing wordpress sites to learning angular, express, mongo, passport etc etc. Wordpress obviously provides a (relatively) simple interface whereby the user can manage their own page content.
My question is, is there a standard procedure for achieving this using the above technologies? I'm currently building my first site proper using MEAN for a friend and I want to give her the means to go in and update images, text, add pages, remove pages etc etc but via a user friendly interface.
I've a feeling I'm going to have to build it myself but before I launch into doing that I was wondering if there was anything glaringly obvious that I'm missing?
Thanks in advance

Can we use Gatsby js to build a simple social networking website

I need to develop a simple social networking website which will just act as a platform for different businesses to discover each other. Each Business man/Service provider will have his own profile that he can manage and these profiles will be characterised and sorted according to their types. Basically I would need a Home Page, Profile page for each profile, Search page along with registration and login. I don't need to make any messaging module.
So for this purpose I wanted to know if using Gatsbyjs is a good idea, also if not then what are the other frameworks that I can use for a easier and faster development.
One main problem with gatsby for this use case is: Once a new business signs in and wants to create and edit a new profile, this new profile is not part of the build process. Gatsby builds only the HTML pages you know in advance. Triggering a rebuild, which may take several minutes, everytime a business edits their page is not feasible. You would have to hack something together with client-side routes which is not the intended nor recommended way of doing things.
A server-side framework like Next.js is better suited for this task. This way you can dynamically add and change the profile pages.

Mobile app with codeigniter

I am a first year "computer programmer" college student and I got an internship where I was asked to develop a simple cross platform mobile app. Nothing too complex, consists in a login screen, then a screen with a form where I'm using jQuery UI autocomplete to get some info from the DB, a select box, datepicker and a text area. The other screen is just a table with information with the current day, week and month records of whoever is logged in.
I am using HTML5 and CSS for the front-end and php with Codeigniter to connect to mySQL DB.
The question is: I intend to use phonegap to turn it into a hybrid mobile app. Would you consider this a good approach? Or would it be worth it to delay the project a little more and learn how to do it using Ionic framework for the front-end and learn how to use node.js to connect with the database? Also I could use Ionic for front-end so it feels more like a native app and still use Codeigniter to connect to my server. I'd love to read your opinions and suggestions on this.
Thanks in advance.
I would highly recommend using Ionic for the app, you get a lot of stuff right out of the box that you will otherwise have to figure out your self.
Getting started with ionic is as easy as writing 'ionic start' and choosing a name for your project and a template to start from.
Depending on you level of web development skills you could really quickly end up with a app of spaghetti code without some kind of framework to set up some guidelines on how to structure your project.
As for the backend I will recommend you to use what ever you feel the most comfortable with as long as it easily can expose the REST endpoints you need.
Lucas Berte Schoenardie,
Since jquery mobile is not updated last two years so it will be better to choice IONIC which is using AngularJS (Google product) and App with Ionic is more native than PhoneGap( using jquery).
This reference on StockOverFlow may help you to take appropriate decision.

express angular single page app archetecture

Hi i am a beginner to nodejs & angularjs.
I have a requirement for an angularjs application, i am planing to do the back end REST API's using expressjs.
For my application I have two parts; one front end UI for general users & one admin panel or managing the entire application database.
I found a number of angular-express seed projects on github.
So my question is that which one is the best choice for me among the following :
1. Doing a single app using express+angular(is it possible to create a separate area for admin)
2. Implement a middleware for REST API's and admin panel using node. Then do a separate angular-seed project.Host the two app separately.
Another question is that whether I should use express or sails js?
Anyone please can help me.
Thanks in advance.
If you're new to AngularJS i'd strongly recommend starting from nothing so that you get an overall look at how everything comes together, my personal experience is that it's better to use seed projects or generators should once you have a basic understanding of how an AngularJS and nodeJS project comes together
Technically both option one and two are valid however I would go with option one, this means you can build authentication and authorisation into your application and use that to stop people accessing the admin section - This reduces complexity because you don't have to manage multiple projects and may also benefit you personally as it allows you to dive into security and expand your knowledge.
Should you use express or sails? That comes down to exactly what you're building - each library has it's own pros and cons, i'd say it's down to you to weigh up these pros and cons and make a decision on what library you would like to go with.
You can use app generators. One of the best generator is Yeoman
And here Yeoman generators you can query the generator you want

Setting up an Angular/Ionic Mobile Application with MongoDB

I was wondering if anyone could help me at all.
I posted a previous question in regards to this title but I didn't receive much of a response (probably due to lack of information).
I started out with an Ionic Application and built the view files using state URLS to navigate from page to page in the WWW folder. I've then created corresponding controllers for the view files, for basic calls and functionality that I want my app to do in the front-end via Ionic.
My question is how do I setup MongoDB + Mongoose so I can have access to the models I have created?
I have scoured the internet but to no avail, I mean I know there is no set way to define a model within this type of application but some general guidance would be really appreciated.
I understand that when building an application with Angular you're essentially building 2 applications, the front-end where your CSS, JS and HTML goes with the front-end frameworks on top of them.
Then the backend application that runs the server, stores data and runs the business logic. This is where I have created the User Schema model for my application and have inserted a document into my database via the MongoDB shell whilst running mongod.
However I also created a users.js in another models folder in my front-end where I'm returning a resource following a url with either a get, save, query, remove or delete.
First of all I would like to say I'm relatively new to building mobile applications so this may even be entirely wrong and secondly up to this point I get lost as to what to do in my application.
I have tried setting up an express server in my app.js file and I can connect to it via my terminal as it is listening on the port number, but in the browser it is coming up with cannot /GET.
If you need any more information please feel free to ask, I know I haven't really gone into any technicals, but I'm really not sure even if I'm asking the right questions to begin with.
Thank you in advance.

REST APIs and a front end website - which framework to use?

over the last 2 months I taught myself Angular JS and ionic and have built a pretty effective iOS and Android client for a specific idea I have in mind. I am now embarking on prototyping a website for myself that this client will talk to.
The website will be pretty simple:
a) I am thinking the front end will be using a responsive bootstrap theme like this one: http://startbootstrap.com/template-overviews/freelancer/
b) The website will have a login function, and after login, allow subscribers to upload 'coupon' - that consists of a name, description and expiry date. This needs to be stored in the DB. I also plan to offer a search and edit functionality via the website
c) Now, I also want the backend to expose a REST API like, say, this form:
http://server.com/api/login
http://server.com/api/getAllCoupons
http://server.com/api/getCoupon/id=foo
etc
I've been researching various options and have come across:
1) Mean.io
2) Yeoman
3) Strongloop
At this stage, given I am completely new to web development, and only have an idea of Angular JS and a bit of Node js, I am confused on what to use
My criteria really is ease of use. I'd like a framework that lets me get up and running with a website and an API connected to it that can get data out of the website DB
Do you have a recommendation on the simplest and quickest way to go about it? I want to continue focusing on my mobile app and need the website to be as painless as possible.
Thank you
