I using Nagios with custom check that will return performance data which I need for graph. Number of performance data can be different overtime.
Performance data are stored in RRD and everything works good, but if number of performance data is different from first check, then RRD show this error in log:
expected 4 data source readings (got 3) from 1468937373:40.00:10.00:10.00
and graph don´t work anymore...
My RRD using GAUGE as data source, is problem there?

I must set in RRD config value RRD_STORAGE_TYPE from SINGLE to MULTIPLE and now works almost perfect.

You need to ensure that all your nodes agree on the current time, by running NTP.
You'll probably be better off deploying on https://cloud.vespa.ai so you don't need to deal with this yourself.
I am a complete newbie when it comes to web page design, and what I am trying to achieve is a web page that I can display on a wall mounted screen as an office dashboard. I have data in excel that is constantly being updated (on the server) and I want to be able summarise this and display it (e.g. total orders etc.) for staff to see. Therefore the web page needs to be able to connect to the data source, and update itself every few minutes. I am hoping to then use Ubuntu or even Raspberry Pi to drive the dashboards.
Can anybody point me towards either some clear instruction on how to achieve this, or better still some sample files that will help me see how its done?

If you want to use PHP, you can use PHPExcel, to read your Excel files, and if you want to only display the information as is, you may output it to HTML directly, there is an API to manipulate the Excel file, so you may use that to summarize your data, however, if you need something cleaner, you may want to use Windows instead of Linux, given that in Windows, you can use an Excel file as a data source, and there are third party products that can use them as if it were a database (using SQL queries to retrieve data).
I have recently started working with jMeter. And I was doing database stress testing for that. I have added the required drivers in the lib folder. And my jMeter is connected to database. And it works fine.
But the problem now I am facing is how to interpret those results. I just tested only one SQL which is doing SELECT on one table. Below is the screenshot of my various tabs in JMeter.
This below screenshot shows how many threads (10) I am running and Ramp up time.
This below screenshot shows me JDBC Connection Configuration settings, which I am not able to understand as well. It will be great if anyone can throw some thoughts on this what does it mean corresponding to number of threads I am running in my above picture.

I am currently working on completing my Masters Thesis project. In order to do so I need to be able to obtain the raw data accumulated in NagiosXI and/or OPSview. Because both of these are based off of the Nagios core, I assume the method to obtaining the raw data may be similar. This raw data is needed so that I can at a later time perform specific statical calculations which relate to my Masters Thesis. I have looked online and so far found some Nagios plugins which obtain raw data and then manipulate it for graphs and visuals, but I need the raw numbers in order to complete my calculations.
I am also researching to see if I can create maybe a PHP script, or some other language, that will extract the data from Nagios and save it in a word or excel document. However, this would be a bit of extra work as I am unfamiliar with either PHP or MySQL queries. Because of this I hope to be able to find a plugin, or something similar, that can get the data for me.

You could access the data that is stored in the RRD files. You can use rrdtool dump to pull the values out or use a URL like: /rrdfetch?start=1307608993&end=1307695393&hsm=opsview%3A%3ACheck%20Loadavg%3A%3Aload1&hsm=opsview%3A%3ACheck%20Loadavg%3A%3Aload5
And this returns back the JSON data points. This is undocumented, but is used to power the interactive javascript graphing.
Alternatively, if you have ODW enabled with full statistics, then the raw data is stored in the ODW database and you can then extract the raw data with SQL commands. See http://docs.opsview.com/doku.php?id=opsview-community:odw for more information.

All this tools get you status data without need to go to DB or status file. While XI is based on Nagios it can still work with him.

It's a web services API to access Nagios data. You can get all hosts, service status data, objects configuration in multiple formats JSON, XML or YAML.
I have a Silverlight application that has a DataGrid and a DataPager. The data source for these controls comes from a database. I am accessing this database through RIA Services.
When I try to load all of the records, I receive an error that says:
"Load operation failed for query 'GetData'. The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature session shutdown or an internal server error."
By gradually restricting the size of the result set on the server side, I have come to the conclusion that I am getting this error because my data set is too large. My question is, how do I elegantly load large data sets into a DataGrid? I am open to approaches outside of RIA Services.

First off, if you have the means and aren't required to write this code yourself, consider buying a UI component that solves you problem (of find an open source solution). For these types of tasks, there's a good chance that someone else has put a lot of effort into solving problems like this one. For reference, there's a teleric grid control for Silverlight with some demos.
If you can't buy a component, here's some approaches I've seen:
Set up a paging system where
the data for the current page is
loaded, and new data isn't loaded
until the pages are switched. You
could probably cache previous results
to make this work more smoothly.
Load data when needed, so when the user scrolls down/sideways, data is loaded once cells are reached that haven't had data loaded.
One last idea that comes to mind is to gzip the data on the server before sending. If your bottleneck is transmission time, compression speed things up for the type of data you're working with.
You should take into consideration that you are possibly exceeding the command timeout on your data source. The default for LINQ to SQL for example is 30 seconds. If you wanted to increase this, one option is to go to the constructor and change it as follows:
