JoomGallery.net | image ordering asc - joomla3.0

i would like to use this simple image slider for the joomgallery for my art students:
https://github.com/danielhpavey/joomgallery-slider
the only problem is the ordering. how do i get an ascending image ordering by id and not by filename ?
thanks peter
<?php
class images
{
public function __construct()
{
$file = JPATH_ROOT. '/components/com_joomgallery/interface.php';
if(!file_exists($file)){
JError::raiseError(500, 'JoomGallery seems not to be installed');
} else {
require_once $file;
$this ->interface = new JoomInterface();
}
}
public function getFirstImage()
{
$images = $this ->talkToJoomgallery();
return $images[0];
}
public function getImages()
{
$images = $this ->talkToJoomgallery();
return $images;
}
public function talkToJoomgallery()
{
$images = $this ->interface ->getPicsByCategory( $this ->categoryid );
$imagepath = $this ->joomgalleryImagePath();
$theimages = array();
$c = 0;
foreach ($images as $i){
$theimages[$c]= array(
'imgpath' => JURI::base() . $imagepath . $i->catpath . '/' . $i->imgfilename
,'imgtitle' => $i->imgtitle
,'imgtext' => $i->imgtext
);
$c ++;
}
shuffle($theimages);
return $theimages;
}
private function joomgalleryImagePath()
{
return $this ->interface ->getJConfig( 'jg_pathoriginalimages' );
}
public function __set($property, $value){
$this->$property = $value;
}
}

Your images are loaded according to image id only but this command is reindexing the array i.e shuffle($theimages);
You can comment out that line by
//shuffle($theimages)
Also for ordering images you can change this line in helper.php file
$images = $this->interface->getPicsByCategory($this->categoryid);
to
$images = $this->interface->getPicsByCategory($this->categoryid,null,'ordering' );
This will do the ordering of images the way you did drag and drop of images at the joomla administrator backend.
UPDATE AS PER YOUR LATEST QUERY
Suppose you want to add a param value (sorting) that can be controlled through admin. You ned to change the xml file mod_joomgallery_slider.xml
Just add a new field like this
<field
name = "sorting"
type = "radio"
label = "Sorting"
description = "Sort by Ordering or random"
default = "ordering"
>
<option value = "ordering">Ordering</option>
<option value = "rand()">Random</option>
</field>
Next to get the param in helper.php file then change the function talkToJoomgallery() like this
public function talkToJoomgallery()
{
//Externally calling a module param
jimport( 'joomla.html.parameter' );
jimport( 'joomla.application.module.helper' );
$module = JModuleHelper::getModule('mod_joomgallery_slider');
$moduleParams = new JRegistry();
$moduleParams->loadString($module->params);
$sorting = $moduleParams->get( 'sorting' );
$images = $this ->interface ->getPicsByCategory( $this ->categoryid,null,$sorting );
$imagepath = $this ->joomgalleryImagePath();
$theimages = array();
$c = 0;
foreach ($images as $i){
$theimages[$c]= array(
'imgpath' => JURI::base() . $imagepath . $i->catpath . '/' . $i->imgfilename
,'imgtitle' => $i->imgtitle
,'imgtext' => $i->imgtext
);
$c ++;
}
//var_dump($theimages); exit;
//shuffle($theimages);
return $theimages;
}
UPDATE: To display 2 slider modules on a single page.
Some files needs to changed:
In mod_joomgallery_slider.php file change this line at top
include('helper.php');
To
include_once('helper.php');
This ensures that the file is included once.
Another change will be to remove the function imageText in default.php and including it in helper.php class else a function redeclaration error will be thrown. But now the default.php file still give error, as function imageText will be not defined, but you already added that function to helper.php. So default.php will only work if you change
echo imageText( $i, $params );
To
echo $image->imageText( $i, $params );// You are calling helper object
Remember to change in both if and else conditions.

Declaration of Upload::beforeSave() should be compatible with Model::beforeSave($options = Array) [APP/Model/Upload.php, line 5]

I am being shown the following error on top of my page when using beforeSave method in my Upload model.
Strict (2048): Declaration of Upload::beforeSave() should be
compatible with Model::beforeSave($options = Array)
[APP/Model/Upload.php, line 5]
Could someone point out what I'm doing wrong?
Here is my model:
<?php
App::uses('AppModel', 'Model');
class Upload extends AppModel {
protected function _processFile() {
$file = $this->data['Upload']['file'];
if ($file['error'] === UPLOAD_ERR_OK) {
$name = md5($file['name']);
$path = WWW_ROOT . 'files' . DS . $name;
if (is_uploaded_file($file['tmp_name'])
&& move_uploaded_file($file['tmp_name'], $path) ) {
$this->data['Upload']['name'] = $file['name'];
$this->data['Upload']['size'] = $file['size'];
$this->data['Upload']['mime'] = $file['type'];
$this->data['Upload']['path'] = '/files/' . $name;
unset($this->data['Upload']['file']);
return true;
}
}
return false;
}
public function beforeSave() {
if (!parent::beforeSave($options)) {
return false;
}
return $this->_processFile();
}
}
?>
Just change this line
public function beforeSave() {
to this, so you have correct method declaration
public function beforeSave($options = array()) {
The beforeSave() function executes immediately after model data has been successfully validated, but just before the data is saved. This function should also return true if you want the save operation to continue.
This callback is especially handy for any data-massaging logic that needs to happen before your data is stored. If your storage engine needs dates in a specific format, access it at $this->data and modify it.
Below is an example of how beforeSave can be used for date conversion. The code in the example is used for an application with a begindate formatted like YYYY-MM-DD in the database and is displayed like DD-MM-YYYY in the application. Of course this can be changed very easily. Use the code below in the appropriate model.
public function beforeSave($options = array()) {
if (!empty($this->data['Event']['begindate']) &&
!empty($this->data['Event']['enddate'])
) {
$this->data['Event']['begindate'] = $this->dateFormatBeforeSave(
$this->data['Event']['begindate']
);
$this->data['Event']['enddate'] = $this->dateFormatBeforeSave(
$this->data['Event']['enddate']
);
}
return true;
}
public function dateFormatBeforeSave($dateString) {
return date('Y-m-d', strtotime($dateString));
}
Make sure that beforeSave() returns true, or your save is going to fail.

Find all in CakePHP is dumping a semicolon in my view

I don't know what exactly is happening with my CakePHP app. It worked last week and I have literally changed nothing with that particular file.
When I use find 'all' in my controller it dumps a semi-colon in my view even if there is nothing in the view file.
Here is my code
$evts = $this->Event->find('all');
There is nothing in my view file. I don't know if it makes a difference but I'm using a json view.
As requested here is the complete code for the action
public function search(){
$this->Event->recursive = 2;
$conditions = array();
if(!empty($this->request->query['name'])){
$conditions = array('Event.name LIKE ' => "%" . str_replace(" ","%", $this->request->query['name']) . "%");
}
if(!empty($this->request->query['home'])){
$conditions = array('Event.home_team_id' => $this->request->query['home']);
}
if(!empty($this->request->query['away'])){
$conditions = array('Event.away_team_id' => $this->request->query['away']);
}
$limit = 25;
if(!empty($this->request->query['limit'])){
$limit = $this->request->query['limit'];
}
//$evts = $this->Event->find('all',array('conditions'=>array($conditions),'order' => array('Event.start_time'),'limit'=>$limit));
$evts = $this->Event->find('all');
$this->set('events',$evts);
}
Everything in the view has been commented out ... but here is the code anyway
$results = array();
$i = 0;
foreach ($events as $event) {
$results[$i]['id'] = $event['Event']['id'];
$results[$i]['label'] = $event['Event']['name'] . "(" . date_format(date_create($event['Event']['start_time']), 'D, jS M Y') . ")";
$results[$i]['value'] = $event['Event']['name'];
$results[$i]['home_team_name'] = $event['HomeTeam']['name'];
$results[$i]['away_team_name'] = $event['AwayTeam']['name'];
$results[$i]['sport_name'] = $event['Sport']['name'];
$results[$i]['tournament_name'] = $event['Tournament']['name'];
$results[$i]['start_time'] = $event['Event']['start_time'];
$results[$i]['img'] = $event['Event']['img_path'];
$results[$i]['listener_count'] = 0; //TODO Get the follower count
$i++;
}
echo json_encode($results);
Display
If you changed nothing with that particular file then perhaps you have installed callbacks (either in the controller or in the model) that echo that ";". Look for 'afterFind' calls...
Search your model and your controller folders for "echo statement". In fact you should search your entire app folder except for the Views folder.

Wordpress use array key and value to set data attribute

I have setup an array of product values. I need to set each array key to the data-attribute and the value to the data-attribute value
<li data-name="product1" data-price="49.99" data-rating="4.5"></li>
So in Wordpress I have this filter hook
function product_data_sorting( $product_attrs, $product, $terms) {
global $post;
// Product Attributes
$product_attrs['name'] = $post->post_name;
$product_attrs['price'] = $product->price;
$product_attrs['rating'] = $product->get_average_rating();
$product_attrs['newness'] = $post->post_modified;
// Product Categories
foreach ($terms as $term) {
$categories[] = $term->slug;
}
$product_attrs['categories'] = $categories;
foreach ($product_attrs as $attribute) {
if ( is_array($attribute) ) {
//This is a category
}
else {
$results[] = 'data-' . $key . '="' . '$attribute' . '"';
}
}
return $results
}
add_filter( 'add_sorting', 'product_data_sorting', 10, 3 );
I am getting all the correct data pushed in to the $product_attrs array that I need, but not sure how to work with the array key and values so that in the $results array it would be formatted like this:
$results = (data-name="product1", data-price="49.99", data-rating="4.5");
Hope that makes some sense
thanks
You would need key=>value pair within foreach.
$ignored = array ('newness'); // array to maintain what attributes you want to ignore
foreach ($product_attrs as $key => $attribute) {
if ( is_array($attribute) ) {
//This is a category
}
else {
if(!inarray($key, $ignored)
$results[] = 'data-' . $key . '="' . $attribute . '"';
}
}
Also note that $attribute isn't enlcosed in single quotes as you have in the question. Variables inside single quote can not be parsed

Drupal 7.14: Preprocess search block form gives me a blank form to render in $search_form

I've started working on a theme from scratch, I've tried to replace the title of the textfield but when imploding the search variable into search_form, the result is blank. Any error that I could be missing?
`function mytheme_preprocess_search_block_form(&$form) {
$form['search'] = array();
$hidden = array();
// Provide variables named after form keys so themers can print each element independently.
foreach (element_children($form['form']) as $key) {
echo $key;
$type = $form['form'][$key]['#type'];
echo '__'.$type.'<br />';
if ($type == 'hidden' || $type == 'token') {
$hidden[] = drupal_render($form['form'][$key]);
}
else {
if($key == 'search_block_form')
{
$form['form'][$key]['#title'] = t('');
//$form['search'][$key] = drupal_render($form['form'][$key]);
}
else
{
$form['search'][$key] = drupal_render($form['form'][$key]);
}
}
}
// Hidden form elements have no value to themers. No need for separation.
$form['search']['hidden'] = implode($hidden);
// Collect all form elements to make it easier to print the whole form.
$form['search_form'] = implode($form['search']);
var_dump($form);
exit;
}`

Model Callback beforeDelete

I'm trying to delete images when deleting the container of those images with a cascading model::delete
The cascading works fine, but I can't get the model call back afterDelete to work properly so I can delete the actual image files when doing the delete.
function beforeDelete() {
$containerId = $this->id;
$numberOfImages = $this->RelatedImage->find('count', array('conditions' => array('RelatedImage.container_id' => 'containerId')));
if ($numberOfImages > 0){
$relatedImages = $this->RelatedImage->find('all', array('conditions' => array('RelatedImage.container_id' => 'containerId')));
foreach ($relatedImages as $image) {
$myFile = WWW_ROOT . 'image' . $containerId . '_i' . $image['RelatedImage']['id'] . '.jpg';
unlink($myFile);
$myThumb = WWW_ROOT . 'img/' . $image['RelatedImage']['thumbnail'];
unlink($myThumb);
}
return true;
} else{
return false;
}
}
The if statement fails each time, even though I know there are images in the table. If I can get the if statement to at least execute i will add further validation on the unlink.
I would do it in this way:
in beforeDelete get the images data
function beforeDelete(){
$relatedImages = $this->RelatedImage->find('all', array('conditions' => array('RelatedImage.container_id' => 'containerId')));
$this->relatedImages = $relatedImages;
$this->currentId = $this->id; //I am not sure if this is necessary
return true;
}
then in the afterDelete() as Oscar suggest do the actual delete of the image:
function afterDelete(){
$relatedImages = $this->relatedImages;
$containerId = $this->currentId; //probably this could be just $this->id;
foreach ($relatedImages as $image) {
$myFile = WWW_ROOT . 'image' . $containerId . '_i' . $image['RelatedImage']['id'] . '.jpg';
unlink($myFile);
$myThumb = WWW_ROOT . 'img/' . $image['RelatedImage']['thumbnail'];
unlink($myThumb);
}
}
this way you are save, even if the model fail to delete the record you will delete images only if the delete was actually happen.
HTH
If the models are related with hasMany/hasOne, both RelatedImage::beforeDelete() and RelatedImage::afterDelete() should be called when they are removed. Try putting the delete logic there instead?
