Page Analytics Chrome Extension questions - analytics

I am new to stackoverflow and was hoping someone could help with the following questions about page analytics Google Chrome Extension:
Does the page analytics extension have a user interface for end users?
Does the page analytics have a user interface for administrator?
Does the page analytics extension have a command line interface for users and/or administrators?
Does it require any client side installation?
And lastly, does page analytics send/receive data? If so what data would be sent is it secure, does to a cloud, etc
Thanks to anyone that can help.

React Native Upload to YouTube

I am trying to upload a video that I take locally using react native camera and then send it to youtube for processing and then want to display that video on a react.js web dashboard.
We have tried using fetch-blob to upload the video and cloud firestore to store the video. We are not sure at a high level on how to go about the uploading to youtube. I know there is upload docs, however can we physically go about uploading straight from our react-native project to youtube, or would we have to upload to a database such as firebase and then use a cloud function to send it to youtube? Has anyone attempted this? The other alternative is that we can upload to S3 and then use AWS cloudstream to play back but that seems like overkill if there is a simple youtube upload that we can use. Do we have to authenticate a user to youtube before it would work? We do not want anyone having to log into a google account. We are hoping just to have an application created with youtube that we can upload to our channel.
Thank you!
Answer
You can absolutely upload a video to YouTube in many different ways. You mentioned a few options and I will line out how those could work for you.
Do we have to authenticate a user to youtube before it would work?
You will have to authenticate to YouTube in order to upload to a YouTube account. You could very well have one account for your app to use and when your users make videos the app could upload them directly to that account. I do highly advise against that though. Google is not very forgiving and the second someone uploads something to violate Google Policies I suspect you will be banned.
That leaves me to believe the best way here would be to use Auth0 to authenticate users and upload to their accounts. Otherwise maybe look into other options.
Possible Options
Option 1
It might be possible to upload all the videos to one YouTube account and make them all private. Then retrieve those videos and play them on your own site. Possibly something like that could work but it is probably a long shot. That could at least keep you from getting banned because of a user violating Google Policies.
Option 2
Another option would be to make one YouTube account. Save the videos to your server when the users creates them from your mobile application. Then have a waiting period for the video to post to YouTube in order for you and your team to have time to approve them.
At least this way you can use YouTube and have one account, but not take the chance of any repercussions from the videos people are posting.
Problem
How to upload a video from your mobile app using React Native to youtube.com
Solution 1
Upload straight from React Native. You can Use the Google APIs to upload directly to youtube. Google has an extensive API. You will have to create a Google API account and make sure to activate the APIs you want to use. Here is some information I found using the Google Javascript API to work with Youtube.
If you go to this link you can see some information on the scopes of this API.
Here is one scope mentioned on that page.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload
Using Gogoles APIs you can upload videos directly to the youtube account.
Solution 2
The second solution is to post the video to your server, then once it hits the server use some other server side language to interact with Google's API. This could come in handy for other reasons. Like if you are better with a language other than JavaScript. For example Python might be your favorite language. In that case here is a Python Github repo that does just what your trying to do.
You could very well implement the repo mentioned above to your server and post the video you create from your phone to the server. Allowing the Python script to handle posting the video to YouTube.
Side Note
I do not think Firebase or really any database is necessary for the task you are trying to accomplish. Unless there are other requirements to your problem you have not mentioned.

Integration of analytics code to Google AMP project

I am looking forward to integrate my analytics URL to AMP page.
As i see on AMP analytics page we can provide our URL which will collect data but this URL needs to be integrated and approved by Google.
https://www.ampproject.org/docs/reference/components/ads/amp-analytics
I could not find any related document for this process.
Could you please provide me details for same.
Thanks
Viren
Try to check this tutorial if this is the one that you need. This tutorial can help you to implement Google Analytics using AMP. It has sample code that you can copy to know how to do it.
For more information, you can check this another tutorial about Using Google Analytics for Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP).
This tutorial has a guide/steps on how to set up AMP with Google Analytics

Showing Google Analytics Data in real time

I would like to show number of visitors on a site since beginning of the month, number of users on the current day and currently on site.
I have Google Analytics installed, I tried to solve this issue with Embed API by enabling Google Analytics API from developer console - but I requires user authorization, etc.
What would be the easiest way to show analytics on-site without user authentication and accepting access by Embeded API, etc. Application is written in Angular, so Javascript API is the one I look for.
Thank you for any suggestion.
Authorization has to happen in order to get the data you want. Either you can let visitors to your site authorize themselves, or you'll have to authorize server-side on their behalf.
Once authorized, you can do something similar to what the Third Party Visualization Embed API demo shows. It uses a custom ActiveUsers Embed API component and includes the source code to show how it works.
Whether you use the ActiveUsers component or not, the basic gist is that once the users is authenticated via the Embed API, you have access to the method gapi.client.analytics.data.realtime.get, which you can use to query this data.
Here's where that happens in the source code for the ActiveUsers component:
https://github.com/googleanalytics/ga-dev-tools/blob/master/src/javascript/embed-api/components/active-users.js#L69-L87
Authentication with the Analytics service is mandatory. But the OAuth 2.0 Service Accounts (for Server to Server Applications) can be used to automate it in many cases.
It's unclear to me (from a quick scan) if the Auth options of the Embeed API would work with the automated authentication scheme, you may want to go through the details.
You should be able to use the Analytics Core Reporting API and maybe the Analytics Real Time Reporting API (beta) which work with the automated authentication according to their guides (look for the Authorisation sections on the left frames of the respective guides).
Donno if this qualifies as easy, tho, YMMV :)

Is it possible to deliver digital content to a user's google drive account?

Without using Google Checkout, I would like to provide a link that allows a user to download digital content directly to their Google Drive account. Does anyone have advice on how this might achieved?
We have our own shopping cart system and host my own content.
We simply wish to provide a link to our content that transfers the digital content to the location of the consumer's choosing.

We currently don't provide such widgets for web developers. You can however use the REST API to accomplish such a thing.
Please refer to the Drive API Documentation for how to do it server-side. For a client-side application (full JavaScript), you can refer to the StackOverflow answer.
The Drive SDK currently requires applications to be installed in a user's account through the Chrome Web Store; we are actively working on making the story better for users and developers so stay tuned!

Why does it always display "No Insights Available" for my apps?

We have launched several Facebook apps. They are intended to run on Facebook Pages as tab-based iframe apps. These apps have been installed on dozens of pages, have thousands of daily users. Users who view these tabs do not need to authorize the apps, we don't require any permissions. When users share through these apps, we use the Facebook JS dialogs library.
With the exception of one, all of these apps display "No Insights Available" when I try to view the insights data. The only analytics we get from Facebook is the Insights summary page which includes some basic user, sharing and performance data - but no details are available.
As I mentioned, one app does have Insights. It was the first app we launched on Facebook. It was originally a canvas iframe app but now runs exclusively from profile pages. This seems to be the only difference from our more recent apps.
So I guess my question is this: is Insights availability triggered by having users access your canvas app? Or is there some other reason that we can not get Insights for all of our apps except the one original application? As I mentioned, users are sharing from these apps and we would love to know more about the reaction those stories are getting.
(I filed a bug with Facebook but after an initial request for app ids and a promise to look into it, they have since stopped responding to my requests for an update.)
In the end, it turns out this was a Facebook bug that they have now fixed. We weren't doing anything wrong. The fact that one app had canvas page views and the other did not was purely coincidental.
On Wednesday, Facebook has deployed an updated version of Insights that integrates with their application page directly - and miraculously, we're able to see Insights data for all of our applications again, including historical data that Facebook previously listed as "No insights available."
If anyone is interested, here's their blog posting on the upgraded Insights application. https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/554/
