I have just git cloned cakebox to my c drive and then then did what the documentation says to copy the .yaml file and then select vagrant up. When I did that then I get a 0x80004005 error and saying that failed to create host-only adapter.
I have windows 10, the latest version of vagrant and the latest version of virtualbox. I installed windows 10 yesterday. I installed virtualbox and then install vagrant. then did the command to get cakebox. I have seen other posts on here that says to restart virtualbox but that is only on mac os x and linux. How can I fix this issue so I am able to get it working for cake3

i have made a QT Desktop application as an Appimage. On my development laptop it works fine connecting to the database flawless. But when i put the Appimage to my PC where also the MS SQL Server is hosted it does not work anymore.
My Laptop and PC are Linux Mint 19 Laptop is 19.1 and PC is 19.3 to be specific.
I have installed odbc and tds following this guide:
https://help.interfaceware.com/kb/904
Ubuntu
Run the following commands using a terminal window, or the CLI:
Get the latest package info:
sudo apt-get update
Install libodbc.so, libtdsS.so, isql, and isqlinst:
sudo apt-get install unixodbc
Install libtsdsodbc.so and tsql:
sudo apt-get install tdsodbc
Create a file called odbc.ini
i also edited the /etc/odbc.ini
like this:
Description = MS SQL Server Driver
Driver = /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/odbc/libtdsodbc.so
Setup = /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/odbc/libtdsS.so
Server = 192.168.0.10
Port = 1433
but when i run the application on the PC i always get:
QSqlError("0", "QODBC3: Unable to connect", "[unixODBC][Driver Manager]Can't open lib 'libtdsodbc.so' : file not found")
i also checked that the library is really under the specified path:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/odbc/libtdsodbc.so
yes it is really there.
so i asking what do i missing here?
help would be really appreciated
best regards
Rolf
I found the solution myself.
I tired to falsify the odbc.ini and the odbcinst.ini on my laptop trying to
reproduce the error there i found that it did took no effect.
After searching for the libtdsodbc.so on the laptop i found it also located at
/usr/local/lib/
so i copied the library from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/odbc/libtdsodbc.so to
/usr/local/lib
and that solved the issue and the QT application is now working fine.
I'm trying to get WSL 2 working on my Windows 10 machine. I have followed the "Manual" directions in this page:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-win10#set-your-distribution-version-to-wsl-1-or-wsl-2
And then downloaded 2 different Ubuntu distros linked in this page:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-manual
I set the default version to WSL 2.
After invoking "Add-AppxPackage" (with no errors) and restarting, the WSL still reports that I have no installed distributions.
See:
I have confirmed that all Hyper-V options have been enabled in Windows Features, along with Virtual Machine Platform, and Windows Subsystem for Linux.
I have tried "wsl /install" but it simply reports the same "Windows Subsystem for Linux has no installed distributions."
I have tried Add-AppxPackage with both administrator rights and non adminstrator rights with no difference.
How can I get WSL to allow me to install a distro?
After performing all of the steps above, I noticed that "Ubuntu 18.04 LTS" was in my "Recently Added" programs list in the start menu. Double clicking on it finished the installation.
You loaded your distro from the Windows Store, but did you Open it from the Windows Store?
You need to do this to go through the install process, during which you'll create a username and password.
Once you've done this, you should see Ubuntu (or your other distro of preference) listed in wsl -l -v as running, along with the WSL version under which it's running.
Incidentally, if you find it's running under WSL 1 although you'd set the default to WSL 2, use wsl -l -v to get its exact name, then use wsl --set-version MY-DISTRO-NAME 2 (replacing MY-DISTRO-NAME with that exact name given before). Your current instance will be terminated and WSL will spend the next few minutes converting the distro.
When I try to install the agent downloaded from (http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/agents/linux-nrpe-agent.tar.gz) I get a firewalld error. The only solutions I can find is to enable the firewall but I do not want to.
2nd, I tried this command "cat /dev/null > 4-firewall". But the installer also came back with an error "The script that failed was: './A-subcomponents'"
Is there a workaround?

INSTALLATION ERROR!

Installation step failed - exiting.
Check for error messages in the install log (install.log).
If you require assistance in resolving the issue, please include install.log
in your communications with Nagios XI technical support.
The script that failed was: './4-firewall'
In the same folder that contains fullinstall, try creating an empty installed.firewall file by executing:
touch installed.firewall
Then try re-running
./fullinstall
This is based on line 12 of 4-firewall:
# Was this step already completed?
if [ -f installed.firewall ]; then
echo "Firewall rules already configured - skipping."
exit 0
fi
If a file named installed.firewall exists in that directory, the firewall configuration step should get skipped.
Also you can enable firewalld on your server with the following command.
To enable firewalld,
systemctl enable firewalld
To start firewalld
systemctl start firewalld
To check the status of firewalld
systemctl status firewalld

You need to use the -d option to get enough information to diagnose this; but take a look at https://trac.macports.org/wiki/FAQ#selfupdatefails for common problems and solutions.
Seems Apple no longer installs Xcode's command line tools. See here: http://ericwilson.erics.ws/ericsblog/2012/8/26/macports-port-selfupdate-fail for solution.
Just wanted to add that on Mac OS 10.12 Sierra i was getting the WARNING: GNUSTEP_SYSTEM_ROOT is not defined error on selfupdate and i did already have the Xcode command line tools installed, licensed and working. But my copy of Xcode had become out of date, even though that was not showing up on the automatic software updates.
I had version 7 and for Sierra (and macports) you need version 8.
So I manually downloaded Xcode 8 via the App Store and it solved the problem for me.
