I have a ng-repeat directive being used in html code as below. I would like the following html: '{{command.Title}}', to be only added if the command.Title was not an empty string. In other words I do not want divs to appear as empty divs when command.Title is an empty string.
Question: Is this possible and if yes, then how can it be done?
<md-list class="control-panel-list">
<md-item ng-repeat="command in controlPanel.commands">
<div>{{command.Title}}</div>
<md-button aria-label="{{command.text}}" class="control-button"
ng-click="controlPanel.onCommandButtonClick($index)">
<i class="{{command.iconCss}}"></i>
<span class="reports-control-button-text">{{command.text}}</span>
</md-button>
</md-item>
</md-list>
If you don't want the div as part of the DOM at all, try using ng-if instead of ng-show/ng-hide...
<div ng-if="command.Title">{{command.Title}}</div>
Simply use ng-show to hide the element if empty:
<div ng-show="command.Title">{{command.Title}}</div>

I have a list of items (divs) with a button. When I click on one of this buttons I can access the element using
$event.currentTarget
that returns some thing like
<div ng-click="myFunc()">
<i class="someclass"></i>
<span>bla bla</span>
</div>
how can I access and elements to modify attributes like class?
Don't. Use existing directives like ng-class or ng-if, etc in your html templates.
<div ng-click="clicked = true">
<span ng-class="{'someclass': clicked}">bla bla</span>
</div>
See stackblitz
Although you can get the html dom element and edit it you should only do this as a last option and other angularjs supported methods have failed or are not supported.
template
<div ng-click="myFunc($event)">
<i class="someclass"></i>
<span>bla bla</span>
</div>
controller
$scope.myFunc(event) {
var elem = angluar.element(event.currentTarget);
elem.children(".someclass").removeClass("someclass")
}
I'm trying to use ng-if to display a button based on filters being present on screen. I'm using md-chips to show filters in categories.
HTML:
<div ng-repeat="filter in sc.filters track by $index">
<md-chips ng-model="filter.value" ng-if="sc.isArray(filter.value)" md-on-remove="sc.filter()"></md-chips>
</div>
<button ng-if="$first" ng-click="sc.newSearch()">clear filters</button>
I track the index and try to add the button if first item was present. It doesn't show the button at all. Any help appreciated.
$first should be used within an ng-repeat statement. In this case you don't want to use $first though.
If you want to add the button if the first item is present, why not just do something like this:
<button ng-if="sc.filters.length" ng-click="sc.newSearch()">clear filters</button>
There is a panel for each contact. I want to show the remove button on a specific panel only when the user mouse over that same panel.
...
<div class="col-sm-3" ng-repeat="contact1 in Contacts">
<div class="panel panel-success" ng-mouseenter="{{contact1.id}}=true" ng-mouseleave="{{contact1.id}}=false)">
<div class="panel-heading">
REMOVE BUTTON
</div>
...
I cant get the reason why this code doesnt work.
There is 2 things in your code that can create problem. First of all, ng-show / ng-mouseneter / ng-mouseleave need an expression. So you don't need to put the {{ }}.
But it wasn't the only one problem. The fact is you were using your id to manage the show property of your item. But this expression need a boolean and you can't just erase your id with a boolean like in ng-mouseneter. To do so, you have to use an other attribute in your item, isShow for example. This will keep your id safe and you will be able to manage your view with it.
So, it give something like this :
<div class="col-sm-3" ng-repeat="contact1 in Contacts">
<div class="panel panel-success" ng-mouseenter="contact1.isShow = true" ng-mouseleave="contact1.isShow = false">
<div class="panel-heading">
REMOVE BUTTON
</div>
....
Would be nice to see a working example, but for the start the angular directives you've used require an expressions, so try removing the {{}} from ng-mouseenter, ng-mouseleave and ng-show.
So, it should be like ng-show="contact1.id".
Try applying this. Hope it works for you.
Remove the brackets from your assignment statements.
The brackets are to render a variable. Since you're assigning, instead of ng-mouseenter="{{contact1.id}}=true" you'll want to do ng-mouseenter="contact1.id=true"
You're previous code was the equivalent of writing something like null=true, or whatever value was already assigned to contact.id. The new code assigns contact.id to the value you specified.
EDIT: You can just use a local variable.
<div class="col-sm-3" ng-repeat="contact1 in Contacts">
<div class="panel panel-success" ng-mouseenter="showButton=true" ng-mouseleave="showButton=false">
<div class="panel-heading">
REMOVE BUTTON
</div>
</div>
</div>
I am doing Angularjs project and I need to freeze a div in that depend on a condition. I tried to use ng-disabled but Its not freezing a div for me. This is the code
<div ng-repeat="item in list.items" ng-disabled="true">
Help would be really appreciated.
Edited :
<div ng-repeat="item in list.items" ng-click="goToFunction()" ng-disabled="true">
now I have another problem, As you guys suggested me I can change the css. But the problem is every div has got a ng-click So even if it is look like disabled in css it will call to the function. So how can I prevent it?
Thanks in Advanced.
if you are using bootstrap3, you can use text-muted class if the div contains text and apply styles based on a condition
<div ng-repeat="item in list.items" ng-class="{'text-muted':item.myCondition}">
the DIV element doesnt support the disabled attribute.
or you can use css to make the div element support that attribute.
<div ng-repeat="item in list.items" ng-disabled="item.myCondition">
css
div[disabled]{
color:grey;
}
You are trying to use ng-disabled in DIV which in invalid. You can achieve this by applying css class conditionally like this.
<div class="box" ng-repeat="item in items" ng-class="{'disable-mode':item%2==0,'normal-mode':item%2!=0}">
</div>
Working Demo
Is there a way to use an ng-if directive without adding a containing element? I'm playing around with dynamic menu items placed by the current view controller and want to handle a dropdown type and non dropdown type, however the ng-if has to be in some kind of element which breaks the bootstrap css.
Here's an example of what I'm trying to do:
<li ng-repeat="item in dynNavList">
<div ng-if="item.dd" ><!--There will be more stuff in here-->
Dropdown test {{item.title}}
</div>
<span ng-if="!item.dd">
NoDropDown {{item.title}}
</span>
</li>
Any nav item created in that html above doesn't style correctly in the navbar because it's inside a div or span element so the css doesn't apply.
I do not want to modify the bootstrap css to get this working and I'm trying to avoid writing any custom directives if possible.
Any suggestions?
ng-if directly on the anchor is fine, demo.
