Wordpress get current site's db tables - database

I'm using multisite function in my wordpress and my database is kinda messed up (3 sites):
wp_posts
wp_2_posts
wp_3_posts
wp_comments
wp_2_comments
...
I am creating plugin which plays with database. And I need it to know which table it should take: for example, first site has to play with wp_posts, second site - with wp_2_posts and so on. Is there any variables or functions to make it happen?
If I write in query, for example select * from wp_posts this plugin will take wp_posts table in every site.

You need to use BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE constant, which retrieve current blog id. And to get the table prefix of current blog e.g: wp_BLOGID_ you can use $wpdb method get_blog_prefix().
$blog_prefix = $wpdb->get_blog_prefix(BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE); // wp_posts or wp_2_posts so on..
Then you can use your query like this:
"SELECT * FROM " . $blog_prefix . "posts"

You have to make use of the wpdb class (check the link) there you'll find a lot of info about manipulating the database.
The class gets automatically the current site database.
To get data from the database without have to hardcode the table names, you have to:
<?php
global $wpdb;
//This is the name of the post table
echo $wpdb->posts
$wpdb->query("SELECT * FROM $wpdb->posts WHERE post_status = 'publish'");
?>
Sorry for bad english.

Model Table CakePHP 3 using existing table

Hi need your help to understand some feature in CakePHP.
I have a SQL Table : user.
I generate with bake the Model : UserTable.
In the action home() of my UsersController, i have this :
$t_Results = TableRegistry::get('User')->findByLogin('jdupont')->execute()->fetchAll('assoc');
debug($t_Results);
The query is generated by Cake and this code works well.
My question are :
Must i create the function findByLogin inside the Model or not ?
Is my code correct ?
Thanks for the help ;)
Yes you can create a findByLogin in your model but you don't have to.
Your code works but doesn't respect conventions.
In CakePHP 3
SQL tables are singular lowercase,
Table files has upper first letter and plural suffixed by Table,
Controllers are plural first letter upper and suffixed by Controller.
If you follow these conventions in your controller you can do this:
$t_Results = $this->Users->findByLogin('jdupont')->execute()->fetchAll('assoc');
debug($t_Results);
You don't have to use ->execute(). Query objects are lazily evaluated, execute will be called when you will use the request.
One of the quickest ways for you to check if your code is correct is to actually run it and see if it returns what you expect.
findByLogin() is a Cake dynamic finder so you don't need to define this method as Cake dynamically does this for you. You can prefix any camel-cased column name with findBy to query a table using that column.
You can use it like this:-
$t_Results = $this->Users->findByLogin('jdupont')->first();

How to match text in cmsplugin_text table to URL in Django CMS

We have created a site for a client using Django CMS and are approaching the launch date. There are a number of links to files on their old site. Doing a search of the cmsplugin_text table, I find 12 entries that contain the URL. There is no simple mapping to the new file download URL from the old download URL, so I need to find the pages these 12 entries appear on and tell our client so they can edit the page.
But the database is not easy to follow. So how do I go from the value of the cmsplugin_ptr_id column of the cmsplugin_text column to the URL of the page? I'm fairly sure that the cmsplugin_ptr_id is meant to line up with the id of the cms_cmsplugin table. That table also has parent_id, tree_id and placeholder_id, but I've kind of got lost at this point.
I'm happy to use either the database commands directly, or to use manage.py shell to do this.
Should have tried a bit harder before answering.
The steps that worked were to look in cms_page_placeholder for lines with the placeholder_id and look up the corresponding page_id. I could then look up the page in the admin at http://mysite.com/en/admin/cms/page/page_id and that page has a "View on site link".
The SQL statement I used was:
SELECT cpp.page_id
FROM cmsplugin_text AS cpt
LEFT JOIN cms_cmsplugin AS ccp ON cpt.cmsplugin_ptr_id = ccp.id
LEFT JOIN cms_page_placeholders AS cpp ON ccp.placeholder_id = cpp.placeholder_id
WHERE cpt.body like '%userfiles%';
Where userfiles was part of the path to the files on the old site.

In CakePHP, is there a better way to select the users name?

I currently have a users table and a posts table. My posts table has a field for user_id, however, I am not sure how I would grab the users name field which is in the users table. I was thinking of using the models afterFind() method and then using SQL to select the data, but there has to be a better way than this. Also, on my view action, I am using the read() function to grab a single post. Would the models afterFind() kick in after it runs read()? If not, is there an equivalent such as afterRead()?
Just make an association of Post belongsTo User, and every regular find/read operation that has a sufficiently high recursive value will automatically fetch the user with each post.
$post = $this->Post->find(...);
echo $post['User']['name'];
you have to go like below :
$this->Cake->findById(7); Cake.id = 7
here , you can you use your user_id instead of 7 like..
Find BY CAKE PHP
$this->Post->bindModel(array('belongsTo'=>'User'));
$post = $this->Post->findById($post_id);
$userName = $post['User']['name'];
Here are errors, I've typed it in eclipse (:

pull Drupal field values with db_query() or db_select()

I've created a content type in Drupal 7 with 5 or 6 fields. Now I want to use a function to query them in a hook_view call back. I thought I would query the node table but all I get back are the nid and title. How do I get back the values for my created fields using the database abstraction API?
Drupal stores the fields in other tables and can automatically join them in. The storage varies depending on how the field is configured so the easiest way to access them is by using an EntityFieldQuery. It'll handle the complexity of joining all your fields in. There's some good examples of how to use it here: http://drupal.org/node/1343708
But if you're working in hook_view, you should already be able access the values, they're loaded into the $node object that's passed in as a parameter. Try running:
debug($node);
In your hook and you should see all the properties.
If you already known the ID of the nodes (nid) you want to load, you should use the node_load_multiple() to load them. This will load the complete need with all fields value. To search the node id, EntityFieldQuery is the recommended way but it has some limitations. You can also use the database API to query the node table for the nid (and revision ID, vid) of your nodes, then load them using node_load_multiple().
Loading a complete load can have performance impacts since it will load way more data than what you need. If this prove to be an issue, you can either try do directly access to field storage tables (if your fields values are stored in your SQL database). The schema of these tables is buld dynamicaly depedning on the fields types, cardinality and other settings. You will have to dig into your database schema to figure it out. And it will probably change as soon as you change something on your fields.
Another solution, is to build stub node entities and to use field_attach_load() with a $options['field_id'] value to only load the value of a specific field. But this require a good knowledge and understanding of the Field API.
See How to use EntityFieldQuery article in Drupal Community Documentation.
Creating A Query
Here is a basic query looking for all articles with a photo that are
tagged as a particular faculty member and published this year. In the
last 5 lines of the code below, the $result variable is populated with
an associative array with the first key being the entity type and the
second key being the entity id (e.g., $result['node'][12322] = partial
node data). Note the $result won't have the 'node' key when it's
empty, thus the check using isset, this is explained here.
Example:
<?php
$query = new EntityFieldQuery();
$query->entityCondition('entity_type', 'node')
->entityCondition('bundle', 'article')
->propertyCondition('status', 1)
->fieldCondition('field_news_types', 'value', 'spotlight', '=')
->fieldCondition('field_photo', 'fid', 'NULL', '!=')
->fieldCondition('field_faculty_tag', 'tid', $value)
->fieldCondition('field_news_publishdate', 'value', $year. '%', 'like')
->fieldOrderBy('field_photo', 'fid', 'DESC')
->range(0, 10)
->addMetaData('account', user_load(1)); // Run the query as user 1.
$result = $query->execute();
if (isset($result['node'])) {
$news_items_nids = array_keys($result['node']);
$news_items = entity_load('node', $news_items_nids);
}
?>

Rename field using Objectify and Google App Engine

I am trying a case where we changed a field name in our entity. we have something like this for example
class Person {
String name; //The original declaration was "String fullName"
}
According to objectify you have to use annonation #AutoLoad(""). This is ok and it works as Google Datastore doesn't delete the data Actually but it makes a new field so this annotation is like a mapping between the old and the new field. No problem when you are reading the whole table.
The problem arises when you apply a filter on your query (Suppose you made 5 objects with old name and 5 with new name). The result of your query depends on whether you used the old variable name or the new one (returns back only 5 but never the 10). It won't fetch both of them and map them. Any Suggestions for this problem? I hope i explained it in a clear way.
Thanks in advance
The simplest straight forward solution. fetch all data with the annonation "AutoLoad()". Then store them again. In this way they will be saved as the new field. The old one doesn't exist anymore or at least it doesn't contain any data anymore. It is like migrating the data from the old name to the new name. Anyone has better suggestions ?
If you've changed the name of your field, you need to load and re-put all your data (using the mapreduce API would be one option here). There's no magic way around this - the data you've stored exists with two different names on disk.
You can use #OldName
