Vehicle dimension Database - database

I am building an app for wrapping vehicles with graphics. I need a database of all the vehicles which has the dimensions of the vehicle. So for example it would have size of the hood, windshield, roof, side door and so on. Has anyone looked for this so far. Where would i find this, preferably free and I can pay for this also.

How can I automate this task ? (automatic contouring for radiotherapy)

I've just started my residency as a radiation oncologist. I have a little background in programming (Python, VBA).
I'd like your insights on an issue I have at work.
The issue : For each patient, the radiation oncologist needs to do a contouring. Basically, he contours the main structures (like the aorta, the heart, the lungs, and so on) on a CT scan. This is essential for computing the spatial distribution of the radiations (because you want to avoid those structures). The contouring is done within a 3rd party software (called Isogray). The CT scans come from the hospital database and the radiation distribution is computed on another software.
It takes at least one hour to do a complete contouring. Multiply that by each patients (maybe a dozen per week) and by each oncologists (we are a team of 15 members) and you can see that it represents hundred (maybe even thousand) manhours every year.
There exists softwares that do this automatically, but the hospital doesn't want to rent/buy them. But, seriously, how hard can this be to do a little automation ? Can't I do this myself ?
My plan of action : Here I'd like your insights. How can I automate this task ? The first thing is that I can't change anything within Isogray, so I need to do the automation externally. What I think I should do :
Create a database of the historical contourings : this means I need to be able to read what Isogray uses as an output files
Design an automatic model : I'm thinking deep learning models here. I don't know if there's anything more optimal to do than calibrating a deep learning model on the contoured CT scans I already have
Create a little software : based on the automatic model, the software will take a 'not contoured' Isogray file and turn it into a 'contoured' file. The oncologist only needs to load the new file into Isogray and validate the contouring
What do you think ? Do you see an easier way to do that ? I don't know anything about Isogray (I just know how to use it). Do you think this is doable? What information do I need before I start this project ?

From what I have understood it is a problem of semantic segmentation.
You have an input image of N dimensions (or black and white) and you use the neural network to indicate which regions correspond to a specific organ.

What I do not know is if the degree of reliability would be very high, that depends on many factors.
Neural networks look for differentiating patterns to discriminate zones, the first important component is shape and color. That is why it is more difficult when both the color and the shape are very different.
On the other hand you will need a lot of images but you can create a process called data-augmentation to generate more (artificial).
Another method that is currently used is to work in reverse, we know that the problem of image segmentation is difficult. But you can design a program that simulates real images where segmentation is known perfectly.

You need to provide more background on the specifics on the contouring, especially given the fact that this is for medical diagnosis. Truthfully, I wouldn't try and automate this for liability reasons.
If you make an error someone it could cause a misdiagnosis, which as you already know can lead to numerous problems including lawsuits and death. The nice thing about 3rd party products is that it is already being tested robustly against numerous scenarios and approved for medical usage and liability reasons.

Create a relational GWAS/Genomics database

I thought I'd ask before I try to build something from scratch.
Here is the type of problem I need to answer. One of our researchers comes to me and says "How many people in our data have such-and-such SNP genotyped?"
Our genetics data consists of several dozen GWAS files, typically flat delimited. Each GWAS file has between 100,000-1,000,000 SNPs. There is some overlap in the SNPs, but less than I'd originally thought.
Anyway, what I want to do is have some sort of structured database that links our participant IDs to a particular GWAS study, and then link that GWAS study to a list of SNPs, and I can write some kind of query that will pull all IDs that have the data. At no point do I need individual level genotype data, it is way easier to pull the SNP/Samples that I need once I know where they are.
So that is my problem and what I'm looking for. For anyone who works with a lot of GWAS data, I'm sure you're familiar with the problem. Is there anything (free or paid) that is built for this type of problem? Or do you have thoughts on what direction I might want to go if I need to build this myself?

SQLite database questions, problems with design (indexing/multiple fields)

I use stackoverflow a lot, but this is my first question here, so if i'm doing anything wrong just let me know. I'm not a programmer (I just do programming for my own needs) so I'm open to tutorial suggestions etc. I won't be offended if you just give me something to read and find the answers myself.
OK, to the point - I'm trying to write simple application to track my personal expenses and I have a problem with database design. I'm using VStudio to create the database (SQLite). I attached a diagram with my design and I have some questions.

I don't know exactly how to design "Transactions" table. Fields like Date, Payment Type etc. seems to be easy enough but the idea was to store in this table information about transactions so I need to store multiple products there. I've read about it and created table "Transactions_Products" that will help with that. My problem is : where do I put quantity of products in the transaction? I can't think of a place to put it. I tried to find similar databases but couldn't find anything.
Second thing. I've read about indexing a lot, but I still can't grasp the idea. I don't know when to use it. Should I use it only on fields that I will be "querying" a lot?
Last one - is it better for such a small application just for myself to store my account balance in a separate table or should I just calculate it every time?
As I said, I don't need answers like: "do this, do that". If you just give me some good tutorials/articles I think I can find answers on my own, but I couldn't find it. Maybe I'm searching for it wrong.

where do I put quantity of products in the transaction?
Transactions is a bad table name as it's vague and has multiple meanings. Consider "payments", "purchase invoices", etc. See https://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/12991/ready-to-use-database-models-example/23831#23831 for some existing patterns.
Should I use [indexes] only on fields that I will be "querying" a lot?
There's no free lunch. Indexes take space, and can slow down inserts. Start with indexes on your primary keys (which is the default for SQLite), measure what is slow (looking at query plans) and add indexes if they help and if you have room.

For an operational/transactional database like you describe, avoid storing calculated values. SQLite can count numbers quickly :)
Premature optimization is premature. Make it work first with full normalization. If you have performance problems, analyze what is really causing the slow-down and go from there.

sql, product inventory module

I have been tasked with creating a product inventory module. After reading all the posts I can find on Stack Overflow, I have decided the best way is to not keep a separate, running ‘balance’, but to create one on the fly. I have attached a representation of the tables involved.

So I have two questions, which are somewhat related, so it seem like I should include them in the same question posting, though I am not a frequent poster and a sql noob. So please excuse me if I am displaying my ignorance with posting or sql.
First, does this look correct (I named all the columns as non-opaque as possible)? I have to create reports that show the current inventory balance for all the products and for products individually as well as a ‘Transaction Register’ with running balance.
Second, provided the first answer is yes, is this a good candidate for creating a view?
Complex question. Difficult to answer without understanding the full scope of the project. One point - I see there is no Current On-hand table. I agree that the running balance at any point in time is best to use a calculated table. It is however common practice to keep a current on-hand table. This gives you the on hand inventory and values with-out having to sum up the transaction. This is the approach in Microsoft Axapta, and other products I have worked with.

Create a map showing routes less than 20 miles

funny how your girlfriend stimulates an idea isn't it.
So we've been househunting for sometime, and the main constraint is commute time, however hard i look though there appears to be no way to create a map that shows estimated commute times from a set start point.
This seems odd to me as surely a tool that allowed this sort of data to be plotted would be of benefit to a number of users, supermarkets could show which was your nearest supermarket by driving distance rather than as the crow flies (something that has frustrated me previously)
So - where would i even start on a task like this? Google Maps seems like a good place to start, but apparently needs an A & B and won't function from an A & a distance.
Somebody has suggested openmaps, but i'm not sure if the traffic is overlaid on there, which would definitely need to be a factor for my specific use case when we're talking about commutes.
I'm interested to hear different peoples takes on this, or even if a solution already exists out there (probably as a bespoke piece of software)
