that would be the 'correct' place/way to use? Still very new... Basically trying to port an app to CakePHP and update it. A lot of the functionality of the program is in bash scripts.
Like what CakePHP has forced me to learn regarding MVC model, and couldn't find really any info on proper way to use bash scripts.
Thanks!
app/Console would be the appropriate location.

I am trying to create a pipeline Job for Jenkins with a declarative Jenkinsfile.
I need to use the plugin BuildResultTrigger. I don't find any information about how to use it with script. I'm even starting to think that it is not usable in that way. Do you have any idea ?
Thank you !
I have a large number of CakePHP 2 web applications, many of them use remote data over the custom DataSource. I'm reading the documentation of CakePHP 3, but I can not find instructions for creating custom datesource.
My next project also requires a custom DataSource (ArangoDB), so I planned to build it with the new version of CakePHP.
Please do specify where and how to build a DataSource in CakePHP 3.
Thank You.
Just look at the code of any existing database driver and see how it is built? There is nothing in the book yet about how to create your own datasource.
ArangoDB seems to be yet another NoSQL DB, so take a look at how this Elastic Search datasource is done. By a quick look I think you can use it as a base for your implemention, they seem to be similar.
I was facing the same problem so I decided to write my own models in CakePHP 3.x. If you want you can use it from here. hope you like it.
I'm writing a web-based computer game (mainly cakephp, some js only for ui). I need to setup another instantion in other language, and for this I need translations. I translated whole project line-by-line, but this generates problem during bug fixes, also both versions require separate svn repo. I don't want to use gettext, because i have very limited server resources, and I don't want to do this live, during execution. They are separate instances anyway, so I need rather a parser that generates copy of a template project depending on file woth translations. Otherwise i will have to write it myself. Anybody knows such a program?
Looks like you didn't read the Internationalization & Localization chapter on cakephp manual.
I want to know if there is a free environment to develop in PL/pgSQL.
Writing the code in Notepad++, replacing the function and running it turns the process slow. I'm using pgAdmin(only to replace and run the procedure) at the moment, but this is not what I want.
I know that there is one similar question here, but this is not duplicated. All the tools to develop are paid, I want to know if there is one free.
I am very happy with following environment.
I use a programmer editor like geany or similar and I edit a file with functions - I put related functions to one file - this is similar to modules from other environments.
I don't use a copy to pgAdmin - it is terrible work - and I don't think so pgAdmin is good tool for editing and maintaining more functions - it is good for ad hoc changes. The editor is not strong - it is simply, and you can't use a usual tools like git, cvs, .. More - you cannot to organize a related functions to one entity.
If I have a one or two files, then I have a opened console, and just import a file to postgres via \i command. If I have a more larger and complex project I use a makefiles - so it automatically import only modified and depended files. This is very good and very effective when you have a project with more then one hundred functions.
If you are looking for a debugger, check http://pgfoundry.org/projects/edb-debugger/ that can be included in pgAdmin. I have never seen any other tool that can debug plpgsql, only pgAdmin.
I had similar question and guys recommended me Toad Extension for Eclipse. You can see the discussion here: Development oriented PostgreSQL IDE
We are a SVN/Maven/Hudson shop. We are experimenting with using the Maven Release Plugin to help automate our very laborious tagging and releasing process. We are happy with what we are seeing and have researched thus far in regards to this plugin.
Our question is - if we need to have different tags for some of the modules / applications being built, is there a way to script the responses?
We have waded through the interactive dry runs successfully, however we are looking to script these out to further our automation.
Has anyone tried this or know if it is possible?
Does the "Batch Mode" allow this functionality?
Thanks
Joe R
You can -B but it will use default version names (removing -SNAPSHOT at the end).
regarding tags per module you can have a look at the parameter : autoVersionSubmodules 1
