I am getting the same error mentioned in this post (DNN An Error Has Occurred)
This site is hosted on GoDaddy, and their tech support has not been very helpful so far.
Below is the latest entry from the SQL eventlog, which I can make little sense out of. If anyone an help me decipher it and have any suggestions, I would be extremely grateful!

Can you be a bit more specific? In which module do you get this error?
I see framework 2.0 in the error which version of DNN are you using? since DNN 5.3 you need framework 3.5

Unfortunately, I haven't touched the site at all since a demo I did at the beginning of August where I created a sample post which means I have no idea what I did to cause the error. I didn't get any error messages at that time and after getting approval from the big wigs, I shifted my focus to other projects and don't recall doing anything usual or bumping into any errors. But I try to access the site today and I get these errors related to 2SXC.
What do these errors mean and how can I fix the issue to restore my site?
Update: I'm running DNN 9.1.1 and 2SXC 09.32.01 with the News app 03.01.04
Update 2: I just notices this error too:

My problem actually had nothing to do with 2SXC. In my Update 2 on the original question, I mentioned I had also noticed an error saying:
System.Web.HttpParseException: The file '/DesktopModules/DDRMenu/Menu.ascx' does not exist.
This apparently is a common problem with DNN module development in Visual Studio. From HemIT Blog:
Where does this Virtual Directory come from? In my development environment, it comes from the following facts:
we are using SVN, and I tend to checkout the modules and compile them outside of my IIS websites
I am using the famous christoc template for module development (don't get me wrong, it's great! It's just doing things behind our back that we might not foresee).
Indeed, if I look in my project file:
The real culprit is Visual Studio!
When you are checking your module out, if you have a site configured on IIS, project will open fine. However when you compile, if you are out of an IIS website, a virtual directory "desktopmodule" will get created, and hide the "DesktopModules" folder.
Hence DNN can no longer find the DDRMenu module, hence it is failing.
The solution was really simple. Go into IIS and remove the virtual directory labeled "desktopmodules":
I have a 2sxc app with a list and details view in a Razor template. I have used it on a few site without issue. I normally export the app and import it into the new site and it works fine. However I'm currently getting an error trying to use the app in DNN 8.4 and 2sxc 9.10 when I select the app:

This normally just runs. Any advice on what the issue may be?
I get the same error trying to run the Simple Parent/Child App with 2 Pages app.
This is probably due to a minor breaking change in 9.3 or 9.8. 2sxc 9.14 gives you better error messages so you can fix it yourself, but it basically points you to this blog post: https://2sxc.org/en/blog/post/fixing-the-breaking-change-on-tosic-eav-ientity-in-2sxc-9-3 or this one https://2sxc.org/en/blog/post/fixing-the-breaking-change-in-2sxc-9-8-list-instead-of-dictionary
I have an MVC5 web application which I usually develop using my laptop.
I am trying to get the app running on my main machine at home for home-working days but have a problem connecting to the local dev database on SQL Server - when I start the app I get the following error:
More info 30/11/16:
Note that the model is generated from EDML using Entity Developer
Unable to load the specified metadata resource. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
The solution consists of 2 projects, one of which is an entity model project which is generated from EDMX.
Note: On my main machine (where it isn't working) the connection string in Web.config is the same as the machine where it works except for Data Source which refers to the SQL Server name on the main machine - I have checked this is correct several times:
I have read several Stack Overflow posts with similar issues - most point to something wrong with the path to the csdl, ssdl, msl part of the connection string.
I have:
Checked the server name is correct in the connection string
Checked the database name is correct in the connection string
Checked the database exists and is available
Checked each of the three files are where the connection string says they are (they are)
Tried using wildcard in the connection string: res://*/dllname.csdl|res://*/dllname.ssdl|res://*/dllname.msl
Update 30/11/2016:
From the suggestions in this link I have:
Checked the MetadataArtifactProcessing property - it is not set to Copy to Output directory
Checked the connection string
We don't have a post-compile task
From the suggestion in this link I have tried setting the connection string connectionString="metadata=res://*/;

There's a very popular question over there and from its rating I can assume it helped a lot of people. It even mentions a blog post with complete troubleshooting for this problem. Also, this answer looks like something you didn't try yet.

You problem should come from the web.config which is located in your module folder (i.e. dnnsamplemodule folder). If it doesn't contain any specific information, I recommand you to delete it.
More precisly, the problem is that some settings included in this web.config would override the settings of the web.config of your DNN root folder. Nevertheless, the current configuration of your computer doesn't allow this configuration.

The configuration file is written for IIS7 but you build in webserver in Studio want a IIS6 sonfig file.
I have wrote abut this in ny EPiServer notes
http://epiwiki.se/troubleshooting/classfactory-not-initialized
I am going out on a limb and guessing here, but did you by chance do development on EPiServer 5 SP 2 and deploy on EPiServer 5 SP 3?
In EPiServer 5 SP3 there was some remodelling in how a EPiServer handles the initialization of the application. These changes made it so that it's not possible to hook into the datafactory events in Application_Start. Instead you need to first hook into Application_FirstBeginRequest and then we have a instance of the DataFactory to work with.

Definitely sounds like a configuration error. As Mattias said, the default web.config is for IIS7. This can cause problems when running IIS6 or Cassini.
