Change text position on Infragistics UltraCheckbox - winforms

I'm using Infragistics NetAdvantage for Winforms. By default, the text on a checkbox appears to the right of the checkbox. Is it possible to get the text to display to the left of the checkbox? I cannot find the property that controls the text position.

The property you need to use is called CheckAlign and you should set it to one of these values:
MiddleRight
TopRight
BottomRight

Labeled text box

i am trying to write a control template where i want a label for text box on top of the textbox. So i invite your suggestions for how to achieve this.
so far i did that using a stack pannel with vertical orientation and then added textblock and text box. Like wise i created 45 stackpannels. So i dont want to go like that. instaed i want to write a control template where i can have label and text box and then set label value and text box value.
my:CustomControl labelText="First Name:" TextBoxText="john Doe" />
any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
You can make a UserControl with DependencyProperties for Text and Label, put your StackPanel in it, and bind the label and textbox to the dependency properties.
Make sure the Text property has FrameworkPropertyMetadata.BindsTwoWayByDefault
Have a look at the Silverlight Toolkit
It includes both HeaderedContentControl and DataField controls. The DataField is mainly for use with DataForm, but as far as I know, you can use it any way you like. The HeaderedContentControl I haven't tried myself, but it could be just what you are looking for.

AutoCompleteBox Dropdown width

Can the width of the dropdown be set to a different value than the AutoCompleteBox itself?
The Popup is a separate Part of the AutoCompleteBox, so it should be possible to extend that beyond the width of the text box.
In Blend, right-click on the AutoCompleteBox and select Edit Template > Edit a Copy, giving the new template a name.
Drill-down in the Objects and Timeline window to the 'Popup' part, and beneath that is a Grid. Change the width of that Grid to change the width of the popup content whilst maintaining the current width of the text box).
(I must admit I've only had chance to do this in Silverlight Spy, but it definitely works there so I can't see it being a problem doing it through Blend).
If you are not using Blend, just copy Default Style and Template of AutocompleteBox from MSDN and paste it into your App.xaml file (here is little tutorial on how to handle styles in app.xaml).
You can then modify that pasted style or template.

WPF Change a label's display based upon a bound textbox contents change

I have a bound textbox and I need to change its associated display label to bold upon the presence of any content. I dont want to use javascript if at all possible.
Thanks
Why would javascript be involved?
Anyway, if this is really wpf, bind the FontWeight property of your label to the textbox's text property, using custom converter that converts null/empty strings to Normal font weight, and non-null/non-empty to Bold.

How to 'get at' the WPF combobox PART_EditableTextbox because combobox not getting highlighted?

My WPF combobox is populated with a different set of strings each click of a button. There are other controls on the window as well. The combobox is the 'first' (top) in the window, but the text doesn't get highlighted. When the user tabs through the controls, the text DOES get highlighted, but when it's the first on the window, it doesn't.
Maybe i need to force a highlight on the individual textbox control 'within' the combobox itself, but how would i do this? I couldnt seem to find the internal 'structure' of this control anywhere. Could anyone help here?
Jack
to get the TextBox of Combobox you can use
TextBox TxtBox = (TextBox)myCombo.Template.FindName("PART_EditableTextBox", myCombo);
I'm not sure it's the best solution, but you can use FrameworkElement.FindName to access the child control -- it's guaranteed to be present in a combobox, because it's a key constituent part of the control.
That stated, is it not better to try and call .Focus() on the control? That is likely why when you tab, the highlight is provided.
Another option is to derive from ComboBox, and expose the child text box as a property allowing you to set it's selection, or add a method directly to the combobox to set it for you.

Change the position of the textbox validation

The new data validation in silverlight 3 has a red textbox that flies out to the right. This is a problem for me because I have have a textbox to the right that is getting covered by the popup.
How can I make this popup move somewhere else?
Retemplate the textbox. The tooltip is found in there. You can modify it using the placement property or margins to appear elsewhere.
