We have a solr result queried by a date range +/- 1 Month of the date entered. If i entered 2012-12-01 i get a Result Set from 2012-11-01 to 2013-01-01.
This works fine, but we want to sort the Result after the date difference to the date entered.
For example if we have the Dates:
2012-11-10, 2012-11-30, 2012-12-03, 2012-12-10
we want the Result sorted like this:
2012-11-30, 2012-12-03, 2012-12-10, 2012-11-10
Any Ideas how to accomplish this in solr?
Thanks in advance!
you can just add &sort=sub(date_you_enter,date_fieldname_on_documents) asc parameter to your query. basically sub function will calculate the difference and then you will be able to sort it depending on that result.
for reference you can also check http://wiki.apache.org/solr/FunctionQuery page for more functions that could be useful for you

How can do I write an array formula in such a way that both following factors apply:
Results give me the names of sales that have either TRUE OR FALSE next to it in a different column/sheet.
Results are sorted chronologically based on the date that is connected to each sale. Each sale has a different date next to it. This can be found in the same sheet as where the "TRUE OR FALSE" result is displayed. Column with the dates is called "AY:AY". I use an indirect formula to target the correct sheet within the spreadsheet.
I currently only have the first criteria implemented, don't know how to do the 2nd one.
Since the raw data is not ordered I need this to happen when I use the Index Match Array formula. So far I have this formula in my Google Sheets spreadsheet.
=ArrayFormula(iferror(index(indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!c:c");small(if(TRUE=indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!ca:ca");row(indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!ca:ca"))-row(indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!$ca$1"))+1);row(1:1)));""))
I know I could use the Index Array formula below with multiple criteria, but don't know how to implement the date component.
INDEX(indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!c:c");SMALL(IF(COUNTIF(_______)*COUNTIF("true"; indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!CA:CA"); ROW(indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!A:CA"))-MIN(ROW(indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!A:CA"))+1); ROW(indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!A1));COLUMN(indirect("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!A1))
Thanks in advance.
A query like this could help?
=QUERY(INDIRECT("'"&$B$5&" 2023'!C:CA"),"SELECT C,AY WHERE CA = TRUE order by AY")
so I used this array formula with INDEX MATCH:
{=INDEX(ENTRIES!$F$4:$F$28;MATCH(C4&F4&G4;ENTRIES!$C$4:$C$28&ENTRIES!$G$4:$G$28&ENTRIES!$H$4:$H$28;0))}
Here is the thing, I was trying to display the price of the "entries" sheet on the "sales" sheet, the problem comes up when there are different prices for one "Code" or product over time. I tried to solve it with an Index Match formula (above) that matches the price of the code (product) with the month and the year but it doesn't assign the price or any value on the months between the updates of the price. see picture
example: for month 6 it should assign the price of month 5 because there is not any update or change. and the same for month 9 it should be the same e of the month 8 for that product. How can I do that?
Looks to me like it's throwing those errors because it won't be able to find these months. In all cases these months are missing, at least with your data, you could tell the formula to pick the maximum row from the data that is below or equal to your search month using MAX()
Furthermore, matching multiple criteria through concatenating cells and columns can get tricky once numeric values/dates are involves and could throw back wrong/unexpected results. Try something along these lines instead:
MATCH(1,((Criteria1)*(Criteria2)*(Criteria3))...
So the whole thing would look like:
=INDEX(ENTRIES!$F$1:$F$28;MAX(((ENTRIES!$C$4:$C$28=C4)*(ENTRIES!$G$4:$G$28<=G4)*(ENTRIES!$H$4:$H$28=H4)*ROW(ENTRIES!$F$4:$F$28))))
Entered through CtrlShiftEnter
#JVDV answer was helpful, but it didn't work for me because it gives me a higher value instead of the latest price for the last month known not the next one.
Anyway looking at your formula, I finally came up with this:
{=IFERROR((INDEX(ENTRIES!$F$4:$F$28;MATCH(C8&J8&K8;ENTRIES!$C$4:$C$28&ENTRIES!$G$4:$G$28&ENTRIES!$H$4:$H$28;0)));INDEX(ENTRIES!$F$4:$F$28;MATCH(1;(ENTRIES!$C$4:$C$28=C8)*(ENTRIES!$G$4:$G$28=J8-1)*(ENTRIES!$H$4:$H$28=K8);0)))}
The first part is my original formula but now when it throws an error applies the second INDEX which finds the price of the month before the month with no price in the data. Of course, it's isn't perfect either because I have to "update" the price at least every two months.
I tried another way with a <= sign but it didn't work either.
I am trying to get a count of all Unique values listed in Col A, by state and within a date range, for example all records up to the end of April 2018.
I am able to get the count of Unique values by state (result is 2) with the below formula:
{=SUMPRODUCT(1*(FREQUENCY(IF($C$2:$C$14=F10,MATCH($A$2:$A$14,$A$2:$A$14,0)),ROW($A$2:$A$14)-ROW($A$2))>0))}
but I am unable to get the IF function to work with EDATE. I tried the following but I'm getting 0 as the result. The result should be 1.
{=SUMPRODUCT(1*(FREQUENCY(IF(D2:D14="<"&EDATE(G1,1),IF($C$2:$C$14=F10,MATCH($A$2:$A$14,$A$2:$A$14,0))),ROW($A$2:$A$14)-ROW($A$2))>0))}
I am unable to use Pivot as I need to include date range filter. Could someone please look at my code and tell me what I'm doing wrong? I am using CSE with my formulas. Thankyou!
I managed to work it out. EDATE wasn't working so I entered the Month date in cell:G1 then referenced it in the IF formula using "<=" eg: IF(D2:D14<=G1).
Whole array formula is:
`{=SUMPRODUCT(1*(FREQUENCY(IF(D2:D14<=G1,IF($C$2:$C$14=F10,MATCH($A$2:$A$14,$A$2:$A$14,0))),ROW($A$2:$A$14)-ROW($A$2))>0))}
I now receive the correct count of 1, though I have to ensure I have entered the last day of the Month in G1. State is referenced in F10 and count of unique values is in Column A.
My full data set is sourced from multiple documents over 5000 rows each and growing daily so my workbook is quite slow to calculate over 1000 array formulas... but it works!
If anyone knows of a faster (possibly non-array) formula, I would appreciate the advice! Thanks!
I'm working with the Blog app and I see how to filter the Blog posts by year using the Visual Query Designer. I use the querystring value that has the year and in the ValueFilter and my properties are as follows:
Attribute: PublicationMoment
Value: [QueryString:year]-01-01 and [QueryString:year]-12-31
Operation: between
How would I get the posts from a specific month and year, if those values are passed via query string parameters. Because the months of the year have a varying number of days, I'm not sure how you would accomplish this in the Value field of the ValueFilter. Currently I'm passing the 2 digit month as the parameter.
I tried something like: [QueryString:year]-[Querystring:month]
Operation: contains
but the above operation doesn't really work because the datatype is a DateTime object.
I could do it in the razor view but I'm afraid that the paging datasource would have too many pages in it since it would be based on the larger subset of posts for the given year that was passed in the querystring parameter.
Is there any way to do this with the filter?
Basically dates are not perfectly handled yet, but there are a few ways to do it using the visual query:
Use the correct date in the query like between [QueryString:Start] and [QueryString:End] and calculate the correct dates there where you generate the links
Since your main problem with the "between" filter is actually that it would include the last day too, you could also use a two filters a >= first date and another < second date, so the first-date would be the year/month and day 1; the second one is year-month and day 1 as well
Last but not least: if you do it with razor and LINQ you shouldn't run into any performance issues - it's technically the same thing the pipeline does and it's been tested to perform well with tens of thousands of records.
I'm using solr 3.6 and I'm kinda stuck trying to perform a special query.
I'm actually using facets by date range, the face.date.gap is set to +1DAY. Of course, the facet is supposed to return the count of docs at a date range but I also need to get the sum of a special field at the same ranges used in facet. It's like I need to count how many votes I have daily monthly, weekly, whatever... it depends on the gap params.
Any ideas? Should I use the group.query or facet.query?
One suggestion I have is to treat the weeks, days separately, and index them. For ex. Today is part of 24th week. Another suggestion is not to rule out multiple searches to service one request. One to calculate all oth facets and one to return counts for given date range (based on search results from first query).
