How to remove focus from the Infragistics ultragrid cell when clicking outside? - winforms

I have an infragistics ultragrid control in a windows form. There is an 'Add New' button outside to insert new rows to the grid.
The problem I faced is, when I click the button outside the grid, while I'm editing a cell inside the grid, the cell doesn't lose focus. Because of this the edited new value is not updated to its underlying data source.
I need this cell to lose focus and update it's underlying data source, because the 'Add New' button creates a new row with this particular column having a default value which is calculated based on the previous row's edited value.
So any ideas on how to unfocus the ultragrid cell? This situation may apply to normal GridView also.

If your button is on a Toolbar, then the behavior you are seeing is expected because toolbars don't take focus. If this is the case before performing your logic you can use the PerformAction method of the grid and pass in UltraGridAction.CommitRow to force the row that was being editor to commit its updates.
For example:
this.ultraGrid1.PerformAction(UltraGridAction.CommitRow);

I used myUltraGrid.ActiveRow.Cells[0].Activate(); which also works. But the solution by #alhalama is better one I guess.

DatagridTemplateColumn.CellEdit selection changed

I have a ComboBox in a DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate. When editing an existing entry the UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged fires on property change. However, I want it to fire on a new line as well just as if I have press (clicked) in any of the cell to start new entry.
By the way I am not using DataGridTemplateColumn.CellEditingTemplate for editing but DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate which I thinks looks better unlike the default
In MS documentation it says DataGridCell.Selected Event Occurs when the cell is selected. That means when one presses a KeyDown or mouse click in the cell. I guess what I want is how to select a cell through a ComboxBox selection changed event. I want when I select a record in the combobox to begin the a new line just as if I have started typing soemthin in any of the DataGrid cells.

AgGrid loose edit mode when data is updated

I use AgGrid Enterprise, and allow users to edit an entire row so all cells switch to edit mode.
I also have an event listener to save the row in database when the user put the focus on a new line or outside the grid.
In the first column of my grid, i have a custom cell displaying a combo.
When the user select a value, it should update the cell AND 3 other cells in the row.
So i use the API to refresh the 3 cells.
Doing so put the cell in view mode, i loose the edit mode and the save event is triggered.
Is there a way in edit mode, to update cell content without loosing the edit mode ??
Thanks a lot.
You said your are try to entire row and and also have custom cell with combo
but ag-grid does not work any popup editor with full row edit.
You have to remove ag-grid property editType: 'fullRow' and it will work.

On Click on the RowHeader the current row should be editable and On click of the columnHearder current column of all row should be editable

I have a silverlight DataGrid, by default on page load the all the cells of the datagrid should be Readonly. I have 2 problem , can any one help me?
1.On Click on the RowHeader the current row should be editable
2. On click of the columnHearder current column of all row should be editable
This might not solve your entire problem but it should partially address it.
This is to make a column read-only in a datagrid
DataGrid.Columns[7].IsReadOnly = true;
Obviously the property can be changed from events but the data grid does not have row/column headers event handlers. Custom controls seem the way to go without introducing any new gui elements like buttons and changing the feel of the application.

rowdeselect event can't fire to save data when it is in last row in Extjs EditorGridPanel

I am using EditorGridPanel with cellEditor which acts nearly like Excel. We implemented Arrow Keys to move among rows and
columns. We do row validation when user moves from one row to another (specifically in rowdeselect event) and then save the
record. There is some issues are:
For the last row of the grid, rowdeselect event does not fire, as we do not have any other control after the grid.
rowdeselect event fires if we move from row to row using Tab, Enter & Arrow keys. But when user clicks on another row using mouse - events do not come in correct sequence, so focus moves to the new row, but earlier row not saved. Currently we solved this by calling stopEditing at the beginning of rowdeselect event.
We would like to know how we can solve these two issues and whether there are more robust ways to handle automatic grid saving.
You can fill free to check the problem in our site. -> http://www.softworksbd.com/swazilandlmis/yyyy_stockdata.php
1 ) First of all the event is not firing on the blur of the whole grid and not just the last row. try changing a row and clicking anywhere on the screen but the grid and you will see that no validation takes place (which means your rowdselect does not fire).
You should try and add a blue event to the whole grid that runs your validation scripts.
2) As far as I have checked the event is fired even on another row click so please explain exactly what you mean...
ps
I have viewed only this page in your application:

Problem with combobox dropdown

I have a problem regarding combobox dropdown. Once a dropdown is opened, if I want to move focus to other control (say a textbox), I need to click twice because on first click, the combo dropdown is closed and then on second click, the textbox gets focus. How should I fix this? Please help.
You could listen to the DropDownList.SelectedIndexChanged event, and in the event handler set focus to the next control, either by setting TextBox.Focus(), or by calling System.Windows.Forms.Control.SelectNextControl()
I think this would be 'non standard' behaviour for what its worth. Its quite normal to expect the user to tab or select the next control after using a drop down.
Edit: Sorry, in a WPF ComboBox the equivalent event is SelectionChanged, but on reflection you'd be better using OnDropDownClosed. This would mean you only move the focus specifically after using the drop down rather than just whenever the value changes.
