My class and I are trying to make a robot, we need to be able to take a picture using a kinect in Labview. We know how to get a skeleton from the kinect, but we can't figure out how to take a picture/video. Is there a DLL we need to download? We can't find anything on the internet but we know it's possible to do in labview. So do we need to write any code in C? Im pretty good with C so don't restrict your answer to just labview. All relevant answers are welcome.

Personally, I have no experience with this, but a quick "LabVIEW Kinect" search on Google turns up any number of results, including some which show video (example). Based on the videos and images I see there, it looks like they're using the IMAQ control to show the video, so I'm assuming you're going to need the vision toolkit for that. If you have an academic license, you might already have that, but even if not, you could try asking your local NI office for one, as they generally tend to support schools.
I would go on ni.com and search for LabVIEW Kinect. There are links over there like this:

Since there are no answers yet, I'm going to rewrite this question in hopes of an answer (I don't mind discussion, but I know SO is about Q&A). It appears security checks/prompts make it unfeasible to use Flash Player. With this in mind, the question still stands, but please answer based on experience using AIR.
I have a Winforms app written in C# that I need to add VOIP to. I really like how well the Flash Player VOIP solution works, the AEC (echo cancel) is awesome. I know they use Speex, but the implementation is still a lot of work even using Speex, so I'd like to use Adobe's solution directly in my app.
Has anyone done this? What issues will I have? A few I can think of:
IPC between AIR and Winforms app. I assume this is easy and several options, including sockets/network, file i/o, maybe others.
Based on this
Content running in the AIR application sandbox does not need the
permission of the user to access the microphone
I don't think security warnings will be an issue? I'm not sure what a sandbox is yet, but as long as my AIR app can run in this and still talk with my winforms app, then shouldn't be an issue.
I assume the voice capture including enhancements (AEC, NS, Speex, etc) are supported in AIR?
Are there any samples I can run that use voice capture in AIR?
Is there anyway to create more rounded/professional looking buttons using vba. I found a couple places that suggested using images, which is not a terrible Idea, but I was wondering if anyone had a clue if there is a downloadable software, add-in, or anything. The ones currently available make my program look like an Mid 90's application. I really appreciate the help. I mean look at it!!
Office VBA uses the Microsoft Forms Engine which is a lightweight (drawn) implementation of a GUI toolkit. Because of this the usual techniques used to customise button appearance on windows (owner-drawing/theming) don't apply and your stuck with what you've got.
If you don't want to use images you need to find an ActiveX control that does the job, something like http://www.arcadiahome.com/products/components/activex/powerbutton.htm .
So being new to the C language i want to program a simple window or GUI. are there any good web pages or books i could get to learn how to do this? I've searched around on the net and haven't come up with anything! or if someone could send me on the right track like what to #include and maybe some important commands that i will need that would be awesome! thanks!
Check out GTK. You didn't say what OS you are using. GTK is cross platform, but easiest to use on Linux.
You need a gui toolkit, you can either use one built into your OS (eg the Win32 API on windows) or pick a platform independant one
Qt http://qt.nokia.com/ is probably the most popular full featured one, or you can start with something quicker and easy like http://www.fltk.org/
I'm really curious to know which off-the-shelf WPF library this program is using for its web interface.
I'd like to use a few of the components in a small, in-house .NET program I'm writing.
Here is a couple of images showing the program in question (and if you don't know what WPF library this one is based on, please feel free to recommend your favourite).
Get a copy / trial. Look at the dll's downloaded. Third party components have very recognizable names (after all there are only some players there anyway).
I am trying to play a movie (wmv, avi, mpg, etc.) in a winforms application. I would like the user to be able to start, stop and pause.
I'm not looking for a full answer ... I just need pointed in the right direction. I've already did some searching on google but could not find anything useful. I can continue searching but I know the stackoverflow community rocks.
So, please point me in the right direction!
Thanks.
I think this is probably the path of least resistance:

You could use Windows Media Player ActiveX control.
You could also embed a WPF control that contains a MediaElement control.
Another alternative is to use the VLC library instead of Windows Media Player. The VLC Forums have a number of wrappers that can be used in C#.
I have not done a comparison of VLC versus Windows Media Player, but it is alot less resource intensive then the WPF media elements.
If I remember correctly VLC also has built in support for alot of video formats, potentially making it a better choice I guess.
One possibility is to use the Forms.WebBrowser class. This will give you an embedded web browser so you can install what ever player and plugins you need.
It depends on how complicated you want to get, but I've had luck implementing DirectShow before. It's definitely more complicated than a drop on control, but it's really flexible for different formats and loading codecs.
